Quite a fun murder mystery. It was a gentle investigation into the murder of a woman and her missing child linked to another murder which occurred a few years ago.

My first book by the author Jeanette Taylor Ford, the pace was swift when the investigation started. Charlie the missing child too provided me with his thoughts and journey as he ran away after finding his mother’s body.

Both the detectives Cooke and Grant were charming, their investigation looked into all aspects of murders. They were

This is book 4 in the River View series by Jeanette Taylor-Ford but the first I have read so I can confirm it works perfectly as stand-alone.

Charlie doesn't have a brilliant life. Living in a camper van with his mother making money where she can means he has a very lonely life and has learned to be more or less invisible. When he wakes up that fateful morning he thought his Mum was sleeping late but the reality was much, much worse than that. What follows is a very complex and intriguing

Absolutely full of twists

This is the forth book in this series but can be read as a stand alone with D.I Dan Cooke and D.S. Graham Grant. a woman is found on a farm in a camper van strangled named as Mandy Jones , her twelve year old son Charlie is missing there's grave concern for his safety. What a book,I got straight into the story, absolutely full of twists and turns as I read well into the night. I couldn't put it down, excellent ending, deserves all the stars. Cannot add anymore to it

Despite being the fourth book in the series I can vouch that it works well as a stand alone novel as I have not yet read the previous three. However, there are some references etc. so if you fancy this series I would read in order just to have the most cohesion.

DI Cooke and DS Grant have thier work cut out for them. Not only has a young mother with a questionable lifestyle been murdered in her camper van, her 12 year old son Charlie is missing too. Can they figure out the murdered and motive and

I absolutely love discovering new authors and Jeanette Taylor Ford is definitely a new author for me. Having enjoyed reading 'Jealousy Is Murder' as much as I did, I can guarantee that I will be reading more of her work in the future. I absolutely loved 'Jealousy Is Murder' but more about that in a bit.
The synopsis of this book certainly caught my attention from the start and it actually screamed 'read me' at me. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it. I was intrigued by the story and I was

This is the fourth book in this series and whilst it still works as a stand alone I would recommend reading them in order. This was the first book I read and although the back stories and past events are explained a little I found myself itching to know all the things that had already happened since Lucy inherited Aunt Bea's shop and first came to the village. This story centres on a twelve year old boy called Charlie who has spent most of his childhood being transported around the countryside ...more

Young Charlie is used to his mother bringing back different men to their dilapidated camper van. Charlie sleeps hidden away in the roof space and stays out of sight. One morning he wakes to find his mother asleep and goes outside to the stream to get a drink. On his return he tries to wake her and finds livid bruises on her neck. He finds that she is dead and so gathers up a few meagre belongings and runs away. He is not only frightened of being taken into care but of the man that killed his ...more

Jealousy Is Murder is the fourth in the River View crime series from Jeanette Taylor Ford. There are many references to previous cases so I believe it would be beneficial to have read those first.
The main detectives are DI Dan Cooke and DS Graham Grant who have a gentle cameraderie. They both have successful homelives and relationships which is quite unusual for police characters!
The case itself revolves around the murder of a young woman leaving her 12 year old son Charlie an ophan on the run

Another case for Dan and Grant. Two seemingly unconnected murders, several years apart test the skills of these experienced coppers. Add in a missing child, and urgency is added to their need to solve the investigation. Great plot, old and new characters blended with skill, make for compelling reading. Absolutely loved it.
