A fun and engaging way for young children to figure out concepts and solving problems on his or her own. Rookie Readers (Ages 5-7) have provided entertaining, high-quality introductions to reading for more than a generation. Each title features full-color, often hilarious illustrations and engaging stories that always involve a young child figuring out concepts or solving problems on his or her own. A child describes all the fun to be had with fallen leaves.
A very simple book which trumpets the fact that it introduces prepositional phrases to rookie readers. There isn't a lot of substance here, but beginning readers might benefit from the repetition.
I appreciated the educational aspects of this Rookie Reader. I was able to form a great lesson and project around this book, and my kids really liked it. The illustrations in this book were wonderful in that they provided various colors, expressions, and action movements and words. I loved the variety and simpicity associated with the vocabulary words.
