A former elementary school teacher, Colleen O'Shaughnessy McKenna lives in Pittsburgh with her family. She is best known for her Murphy series, based on her own family.
Just remembered that I read this book around age 10 and loved it. The main character figured out her blackmailer by a spelling error. I was all about that grammatical justice.
Just finished reading this oldie to my 8-year-old daughter. I read this series when I was a kid and enjoyed them so much. We had a great time reading this cute camp story.
I loved this series, namely (ha!) because I rarely saw my own name in print and I forgave Collette Murphy her extra L.
It's funny what sticks with you. Decades later, I still remember the satisfaction of Collette defending and proving herself right because of her superiority in spelling. My kind of heroine.
