Why does doing the right thing have to be so hard?

Leslie Collins has been asking herself that question ever since her eyewitness testimony in a murder case landed her in the Witness Protection Program far away from everything and everyone she’s ever known. Now, four years later, she struggles with growing despondency over the circumstances that prevent her from forming a r

BJ Wane’s highly anticipated sixth addition to her Cowboy Doms series has hit the shelves today, and Submitting to the Cattleman is a holiday treat that was totally worth waiting for.
What I enjoy about BJ’s books is that I’m able to submerse myself into the story and get a good feel for what the lead character is feeling, smelling, ect. And this story definitely had me doing so. I was hooked all of the way until the very end.
Leslie Collins has witnessed a truly horrific crime, and by being brav

I give the series 3 stars

This review is for this SET of books. There are six in print right now, but I have no knowledge if there are to be more. The story leaves the possibility of more.

None of my favorite authors have a release coming soon. So I looked to see what Amazon recommended for me. This series by BJ Wayne came up. As the first book is free, I figured why not. After reading the first book, I felt the story had a very light plot and underdeveloped characters. But it wasn't horrible.

A well Deserved 5 star ⭐️ read.

This is Kurt and Leslie’s story. Full of intrigue and suspense, and revenge by one of my best BDSM authors BJ Wane. She has done it again with her magnificent book 5 of the Cowboy Dom’s. Her books have everything a reader of this genre needs, hot sexy scenes, intrigue with twists and turns you do not always see coming! I just love this series and look forward to the next Cowboy Dom books.

Already, my favorite book in the series has changed. Most of the stumbling blocks I had encountered in my enjoyment of the earlier books were not found in this one. I loved Leslie’s strength and her independence. I particularly liked that the author shows us that even though these are her strengths, they’re also the source of her greatest vulnerabilities. I enjoyed seeing that even though Kurt wanted to know all of Leslie’s secrets, he spends the time building trust with her through patience and ...more

Leslie is lonely after being in the witness protection program because she saw a murder. She ends up at a bar and being attacked by a purse snatcher. Kurt is back in town and rescues Leslie from the purse snatcher. The two end up having a one night stand with both wanting more but no way of contacting each other. Leslie meets up with Kurt again at the Barn, a BDSM club that Kurt is part owner in and participant as a Dominant. Kurt wants to know more about Leslie. Can she open up after there is a ...more
I've read many of Ms. Wane's books, but have not left a full review of any except for Blindsided (I had problems with its depiction of disability). Thus, the below addresses the entire "Cowboy Doms" series. As always, YMMV.

Ms. Wane has at least three series, all set in different parts of the country: Virginia, Miami, and Montana (not sure where she'll go next). These "Cowboy Doms" (though one is a lawyer and I assume the next book will feature the doctor) are all connected either by birth or fri

This novel was the first I have read by this author. It was well written and edited, with well constructed sentences and paragraphs and very few if any typos and no wrong word choices I could see. There were several things about this novel I really enjoyed. I really enjoyed that the heroine was a knowledgeable experienced sub before she met the Dom hero. I feel like too many BDSM "virgin" heroines in romance novels with experienced knowledgeable Dom heroes is perpetuating some problematic double ...more

I enjoyed this book for the most part. The relationship between Kurt and Leslie developed well and with a lot of emotional turmoil. I experienced a certain amount of disquiet at the interplay with some of the other characters. For example, when Mitchell was discussing Kurt's father's therapist, he very indiscreetly asked if Kurt knew that she and her husband owned a private club. There seems to have been no need for that enquiry and would Tamara want her involvement with the club to be made comm ...more

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the sixth book in the Cowboy Doms series. In this book. Kurt returns to run his family's ranch after his father has a stroke. Kurt is a dom and looks forward to returning to the Barn. When Leslie was out one night, she saw Kurt at the bar and when she left, s young man tried to mug her, but Kurt came to her rescue. Leslie was a sub and longed to have a connection to someone, but she was in hiding and knew it could cause trouble to whoever she g ...more

Submitting to the Cattleman is well written and fun to read. Although the author includes some scenes at The Barn and also has some interactions with past characters from the series, this story can still stand alone. Kurt and Leslie's story has both characters dealing with pasts that now influence their daily lives. Leslie enjoys teaching and working with kids but is forced to hide and to protect her future. She is strong, independent, and secretive, but also vulnerable and lonely. Kurt is stron ...more

Kurt and Leslie's story Is a great addition to the Cowboy Doms series! The powerful and wealthy father of two killers that Leslie testified against has vowed revenge, landing her in the Witness Protection program. It was the right thing to do but has left her isolated and unable to make friends for fear of putting them in harms way as well. Kurt is returning to his family ranch after his father drove him away in grief several years ago. They come together in what each believes will be a one nigh ...more

I think this book, in this series, is my favorite so far. Leslie is in the Witness Protection Program for witnessing a murder 4 years ago. Being lonely, she agrees to a one night scene with Kurt. Kurt has come back home to help his father on the ranch. I really liked the father and could tell that he loved his son, even though Kurt didn't seem to feel like he did. There was so many good feels and emotions in this story and I loved how we got to see other characters from previous books. When Lesl ...more

This book has so many different aspects to it – the relationship between Leland and Kurt, Leslie’s courage that landed her in witness protection in the first place, her growing relationship with Kurt, and the danger Leslie and the ranch now face. And each of these is magnificently handled. While the D/s relationship between Kurt and Leslie is the focus of the book and those scenes are hot and swoonworthy, I think my favorite aspect was Leland and how well he is written. Because that’s something ...more

Love this series!

Leslie witnessed a cold blooded murder and testified against the killers landing her in the Witness Protection program trying to hide from their vengeful father who has sworn to kill her. She ends up in a small town in Montana teaching second grade children. She also discovers her liking for the BDSM lifestyle and is a regular at the local club The Barn.

Leslie was a witness to a murder, and testified at the trial. She's been threatened, and enters the Witness Protection Program. She's drunk, and gets mugged on her way home from the bar. Kurt rescues her, and gets her home safely. She's not so drunk that she can't make a pass at him, and they have an incredible night together. Kurt's been in Texas, but his father had a stroke, so he's moving back to Montana to take over running the family ranch. Leslie and Kurt both frequent a local establishmen ...more

Our heroine is in witness protection. Our hero rescues her from a mugging and is surprised to later meet her at a BDSM club.

This is book six in the series, but it stands perfectly well on its own. Feel free to start anywhere in the series.

This is an erotic story with elements for BDSM and punishment (particularly spanking), but it also involves a mystery with a bit of intrigue. While not a simple straightforward plot, the story is very well written and easy to read. The characters are good, som

Hot and steamy and heartwarming too!

Kurt is moving back to Montana to reconcile with his ailing dad and help run the family ranch. Leslie (not her real name) is in hiding from a vengeful father. Their chance meeting leads to a one night stand that neither can forget. When they meet again at The Barn, the local lifestyle club, Kurt sees an opportunity, even though Leslie's committed to not allowing anyone close enough to become collateral damage if she's found.

Leslie witnessed a murder 4 years ago and has been on the run, ever since then, in a Witness Protection Program. Living in Wyoming, she accidentally meets Kurt, a wealthy rancher who has returned to help manage affairs for his father, who suffered a stroke. Both are interested in BDSM, and a warm relationship develops with Kurt wanting to push forward while Leslie is hesitant because bad people are trying to kill her and she doesn’t want him involved in her problems. I loved this story, it is well written, entertaining and keeps your attention. Leslie has a huge secret that has stopped her from forming any lasting relationships since her move to Montana. Kurt is returning to Montana to help his father manage the ranch after Leland suffers a stroke. Submitting to the Cattleman is sexy, power exchange done right. Leslie's past has left her with trauma and in the witness protection program. Kurt is rugged and caring, but she can't be completely honest with him even if she wants to. Her one-night stand with Kurt as well as her visits to the club, The Barn, allow her to forget the bad memories for a while, but when Kurt sees here there, he's not willing to let things go. I won't include any spoilers, but the story was very well written and inte ...more

Will she ever have someone?
Having to give up her whole life because she did the right thing has been pure hell for Leslie. Her one outlet the Barn was a hard place for her to be now too there was a little bit too much happy getting together for her. So drinking too much one night ends her up with a one night stand, but it will not be the only one she will spend with Kurt. I thought the characters were great I have read a number of BJ Wane books and the characters are like old friends to me. This
