The Witch's Gift

Rate this book
I wanted to escape the family holiday celebration for a little while. Especially the warlocks Aunt Fenella keeps trying to set me up with. They're all the same. Polite. Good-looking. Boring. So I found a nice quiet bar and planned to have a drink. Maybe flirt with someone cute.

Instead, I meet the hottest man I've ever seen.

And he's a werewolf.

The truce between the witches and the shifter pack of Dallas is new, and I'm still wary. I should stay way from him but I can see the pain in Blake's eyes and the grief that surrounds him.

He needs comfort. Even if it's just for tonight.

I never expected one night with him to change everything. How do I go back to my normal life after love at first bite?

Born and raised in Texas, C.C. Wood writes saucy paranormal and contemporary romances featuring strong, sassy women and the men that love them. If you ever meet C.C. in person, keep in mind that many of her characters are based on people she knows, so anything you say or do is likely to end up in a book one day.

A self-professed hermit, C.C. loves to stay home, where she reads, writes, cooks, and watches TV. She can usually be found drinking coffee or wine as she spends time with her hubby, daughter, and two beagles.

The Witch's Gift was a nice story but it was basically a “meet & greet” story, in which greet means sex.
I liked those characters a lot, so I wouldn’t be oppose to read more about them. Not at all.

3.75 stars. The Witch's Gift was a fun, quick read. This is Candela and Blake's story. Candela is visiting her family for the Holidays. Her aunt has been trying to fix her up with boring men and she is tired of it. So she escapes for the night to a bar where she meets a hot werewolf named Blake. Holiday cheer and sparks fly in this sexy and sweet tale.

I enjoyed this story. Candela and Blake make a good couple, if a little light on the chemistry front. Also, the story felt a little on the short side for a standalone book, but that did not hamper my enjoyment. Overall, though, The Witch's Gift was an entertaining, fun, sweet and sexy read to curl up with on a cold Winter's night.

The Witch’s Gift was super quick, sexy and sweet!

If you’re looking for a quick fix this boom will give it. It was insta-love goodness with the perfect amount sexiness. It was great to even see one of my fave characters from the Bitten series again.

This book left me with the urge to re-read the whole Bitten series again.

Candela's aunt Fenella is driving her mad keep trying to set her up with a very boring warlock, and so to escape the situation she goes out and meets werewolf Blake in a bar. He is the hottest man she has ever met and she decides to hook up with him and ease the pain he is feeling. Problem is can she give him up after the one night??

This was a sweet novella that had lots of passion. It was lovely to see how she resisted everything but had to face the truth of the situation in the end. I'm sure going forward there were plenty of fireworks between them. Well written and very enjoyable - it was easy to understand and relate to the characters.

An amazing treat! Revealing against your aunt will get you nowhere when she’s a powerful witch. Sometimes all you need is a little nudge to find your mate.

I’m greedy and want CC to expand this into a novel!!

C.C. Wood is definitely one of my favorite (if not my favorite) paranormal author. Every one of her paranormal stories, I've LOVED!!! And I am not a huge paranormal fan. But C.C. speaks my language!

This was a quick read and I read it in 1 night while lying in bed when I should have been sleeping. But oh was this story worth it!!

Candela and Blake are such opposites because Candela is a witch and Blake is a werewolf. But like any werewolf, once he finds his mate, that's it. And Candela is his mate.

A great, quick, hot read that is an awesome holiday story!

Candela is a witch who is visiting family during the Yule Tide. While our escaping her family she runs into a very sexy wolf named Blake. They have instant chemistry and get along great. She’s ready to have a fun adventurous one night stand but Blake maybe looking for more. This was a fun quick sexy read. Reading this book will leave you thirsty for more. I love shifter books and hopefully we will get to read more about Blake’s pack.
