This book approaches generosity in exactly the way it should…from a Biblical perspective while also being very relatable and understanding to the average person!

Chip Ingram came to speak at my church last year and, since then, I’ve enjoyed watching a lot of his videos online and have been wanting to read his books. I was so excited to receive this book in the mail recently as a thank you gift from my church for donating over the past year.

Generosity

That’s God’s design for the way he wants us to express his generosity. Giving is meant to be joyful fulfilling.

They were generosity in Greek means ready to distribute – available to give time and treasure to bless other others

Jesus said it’s more blessed to give them to receive.

Whatever we sow now, we will reap later.

Store of treasures in heaven, because if we really saw the big picture, that’s what we would choose to do for ourselves

Where your money goes, your heart flows.

There are two kinds of treasures in life: those that are temporary those that last forever. We have to decide which kind we are going to live for whether we’re gonna live for now or for eternity.

When we let go of the temporal and quit focusing on ourselves, and when we embrace instead the eternal treasures He offers us by investing in kingdom oriented relationships and purposes, we get rich. By releasing more of what we have, we receive more than we could ever imagine

Faithful stewards give their first and best to God.

We have to pour out what we have to experience. God’s abundant provision.

You give sacrificially when you’re giving impacts your lifestyle

True generosity is shaped by a special intertwining of sacrifice and worship

While this was a small book… it was a mighty read! The reminder of how generous God is to me and what I have, can and should do with that generosity was just what I needed. Even in my current Life circumstances, while the world may view them bleak, I am encouraged and inspired to be more generous than ever. “God does not measure generosity by the size of the gift, but by the sacrifice of this the gift!”

Measure or no measure - God has been extremely generous to me and I will continue, as well as expand, my generosity to simply… Glorify Him!

Thanks for a small and simple… but extremely powerful book!

A refreshing teaching on stewardship that encourages you to look beyond the general understanding of giving. These principles are critical. Most of us have a surface level of understanding of what it means to give and be a steward of what God gives us.

Lace up your shoes and get ready to give your giving a fresh run. You won't regret it.

I loved this book on generosity. It is a quick read, but it’s packed with information on the importance, and benefits, of being generous. The best part, for me, was the presentation. It offers the principles without the guilt. The author gives you insight and allows you to evaluate where you are and what your next step should (or could) be. Highly recommend this book.

A good book on generosity. Nothing earth-shattering for me, but a great place to begin for someone new to being generous. I appreciated his emphasis on percentages rather than amounts. The last chapter was particularly good. He doesn't just leave generosity with money, but goes into all of life.
