marked it as dnf
I DNF'd this one around 10% or so. It just wasn't working for me. I didn't care about the characters and the story seemed to lack direction. The whole story and world didn't come alive for me and there was nothing to keep my attention. Temperance their immature personality was so overdone it didn't feel realistic. There were things that didn't quite make sense, the way the story progressed felt off and then there was that weird time skip as well. I liked the talking tree though and the concept o

Preface: I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
This book contains straight-up plagiarism, and not in the iffy way I initially expected. It is very, very obvious from the get-go that this novel takes place in the D&D universe, just with different names on everything. The classes are the same (arcane/divine/druid spell-casting, complete with wild-shape, barbarian rage, innate spellcasting vs book magic, magical bards, etc. etc.), the spells are the same (Prestidigit ...more

I had been meaning to read this book for a little bit and finally had a chance. I liked the concept of the book. At first I did feel like I was missing something or it really wasn’t the first book in the series but was able to get going in it after a little while. It did do this some as in some cases how it mentioned people were like you should already know them. Was it bad enough to make give up as confusing, no. Yet it was distracting from the story some. After I got more into the book I did e

A quest impossible to complete? Decades have passed since the last novella. Aviana is now almost seventy years old (though looks like a young woman in her twenties) and now has a half-sister named Temperance, who has been kept isolated by her mother, and is very immature for her age. Avian has gotten approval from her father to take Temperance and a tour so she can learn about other cultures and be ready for her coming of age test. If she passes she will finally get to meet their father and lear

Fantastic book by a new to me author that won't stay like that for long. Can't wait to read more. Would recommend

Prophecy of Convergence is a female power fantasy with a background full of mystery and interesting characters. I'll admit, most of the jokes didn't land for me, but the subterfuge and lore were enough to keep me invested.

Prophecy of Convergence by Shannon Pemrick
This is a story about an “alluring half-elven woman” using her magic and swords to deal with friends and enemies across an unusual world.
She is travelling the world with her younger step-sister, who is twenty-ish but acts 12ish all the way through the book. And we are constantly reminded every chapter just how young she behaves all the time. Yeah, I get it, she’s the long arc character intended to bloom across a number of books, but she takes up so much ...more

A great fantasy quest that takes a lot of clichés, chew them with geek experience (and probably a lot of rpg jokes) and spit them back in a new fashion. This story follows the usual rules of the quest with protagonists having their own background, gods or prophecies and motivations merging into one great quest for what they first think is just a job along the way. Then situations arise and let's be honest some are ridiculous, giving a very funny side to the story. Combined with the comes-back of

Our heroine is tasked with helping her sister prepare for her coming of age ceremony. Too bad prophecies of doom come at the same time. All she needs now is a little unasked for help...
This is the start of a new fantasy series featuring all kinds of fun things. Sooo good. So. So. Good. That’s what the “Cliff’s Notes” version of any review of Shannon Pemrick’s Prophecy of Convergence (Oracle's Path Book 1) should read. I love fantasy stories and read tons (and tons, and tons) of them. This book is tops. Epic fantasy, a dragon god, magic, adventure and a touch of romance. Add a fantastic leading character in Aviana, a half-elf Oracle. Yup. Pretty much all the ingredients for superb fun. Frankly, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review t

The book follows the adventures of Temperance, Avianna, Orsik and more as they follow the commands of their gods toward an uncertain task. Temperance, thanks to her mother, seems to be a five year old trapped in a twenty year olds body. Avianna is bi sexual and a strong minded woman who has a lot of insecurities hidden behind her show of strength. Together these two embark on an epic adventure, but be warned this book ends with a cliff hanger.

This is the first in an awesome series!! How would you deal with a sister you are trying to teach about the world outside while having a prophecy throwing you into other adventures?? Well, you just take one thing at a time with a bit of help! Great beginning to the series and can not wait for the next adventure to see what happens next!!

Prophecy Of Convergence is Book 1 in the Oracle's Path series. This is a well-written story with exceptional world-building and fantastic character development. Aviana, half-elf Oracle, is an amazing and strong lead character. We have everything present for a fun adventure which I highly recommend. Anxious for the next in series to see what adventure Shannon Erick has waiting for our characters. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Shannon Pemrick, for as long as she can remember, has always been in love with dragons, although she never liked the constant portrayal of dragons being inherently evil. In a quest to find more diverse characterizations of dragons, Shannon found her passion for reading Romance, Fantasy, and Science Fiction. With a creative and imaginative mind following her around, it was no surprise her two passi
