What happens when a repressed single preacher finally snaps? Well, if your name is Boone, you might land your ass in jail for stealing and rehoming mistreated dogs. When the church sends him to time out to think about what he’s done, he instead has something way less wholesome on his mind. Boone intends to spend every waking — and sleeping — moment with the tempting Delilah, the woman he first meets on his way out the door of his church for the very last time. After a week of sowing his long overdue wild oats with the girl of his dreams, Boone has a decision to make: will he beg forgiveness or pursue happiness? Uhm, I think we all know the answer to that!
Contents may also include: An appearance by Boone’s younger sister Molly, from Fencing Her In. Two adorably awkward virgins. A fight at the roller derby. A commemorative tattoo. And Molly’s famous peach cobbler to help the parentals calm down about everything.
Don't forget to grab the stand alone companion to this book, Fencing Her In.
I adore Abby Knox, she is a guaranteed autobuy for me. She has a phenomenal talent for writing, sucking me in immediately. You can't help but fall for her characters, not matter who they are. Her stories are so fresh, unique and wait anxiously for each new book. Boone's story is one we have been waiting for since his sister's book. A pastor, conflicted and questioning his path in life. When he goes off the deep end and breaks the law for a good reason, his congregation turns on him. When facing an inquiry in front of his flock, he lays eyes on the most beautiful girl. Something snaps and he walks away with the gorgeous Delilah in tow. Its like Boone has woken up from a deep sleep and is now ready to take control of his life and live it. Delilah was an awesome chick and a perfect match for Boone. I cannot express how much I enjoyed Doing Him Good! Adorable, sexy and sweet, 10 stars for Boone and Delilah!
Doing Him Good is fun and irreverent with a touch of sweet. It’s chock full of southern references that I found cute as well. Boone and Delilah are both likeable characters and their fast track to insta love is a good time. I think I would’ve enjoyed perhaps a chapter or so more to give us a bit more resolution in regards to the situation Pastor Boone found himself in at the onset of the book, but other than that, this is another fun one from Abby Knox!
Finally Boone's story. You've heard the saying a gentleman in the streets but a freak in the sheets. Well that would be Boone. He is so sweet. Well Boone and Delilah both are. I do wish the story would have followed up more on the troubles he was having. I read an advanced copy of this book
HERO - Boone. Former preacher at a Texas mega-church. Short-cropped hair. Looks like a younger version of Henry Rollins. Sees Delilah in the congregation and can’t take his eyes off her.
HEROINE - Delilah. Roller Derby girl. Black hair with streaks of bright purple. Blue eyes surrounded by thick-rimmed glasses. Piercings and tattoos. Attends Boone’s church after seeing his mugshot in the newspaper.
OVERALL THOUGHTS - I really liked it! There were excellent characters, a heroine with a unique look and hobby, and steamy sex scenes. Our hero is a delicious combination of polite respect and protective possessiveness. Our heroine is a badass with an air of innocence. The only thing I really missed was I suppose it doesn’t matter too much, though, because no matter what happened, in the end our characters had their HEA.
GOODNESS GRACIOUS! I have been looking forward to Boone's book, and Abby, you did not disappoint! Boone isn't quite sure that he's on the right path in life any longer, and on the day of his reckoning, when it's his Judgment Day, he sees an angel amongst his usual church flock, and all of a sudden, he has a new purpose. Delilah was only there because of her grandmother, and yet, for both of them it was a new start to the rest of their lives. Instalove, alpha protectiveness, a woman that can take care of herself, messy family situations, and two people that have never been with anyone else being with one another for the first time. Throw in some of Molly's peach cobbler at a family get together, and you are in for a wonderful quick and easy and hot and lovely and delicious read!
“Doing Him Good” is a perfect afternoon read. It’s the just the right length to read in one sitting and it’s filled with instlove goodness from start to finish. Boone is a sexy preacher, in over his head, leading a large congregation. In a moment of madness he decides to do something “un preacher like” that gets him into trouble. Delilah is a young temptress, she is quirky and outgoing. When these two very different people meet it’s off the charts chemistry. They fall and fall hard for one another. A great read, add this book to your TBR list right away. (I received an ARC and voluntarily left a review.)
Loved this book! A "good boy"/well man, that has had enough of his life dictated by others finally let's loose. About to begin his journey to discover his true self, he spots a new face in the crowd. A beautiful, mesmerizing face attached to a girl that he wants to know better. Such a fun, entertaining story full of steam, happiness and laughs. ** Little bit of a spoiler** The only thing lacking was the information about what happened to Boone with the pending legal problems. The epilogue tied the story up nicely but left out any mention of what happened with that.
Sometimes life takes a swerve. That’s what happens to Pastor Boone. He went off and did some things that weren’t preacherly (though were the right things to do), and he ended up walking out on the church. On his way out, he stopped and grabbed a raven haired beauty who caught his eye and gave him peace throughout the grilling and questions he was receiving. Delilah willingly goes with him and the two get to know each other very well. And quite quickly fall head over heels. And I loved their story
I normally don't give anything above 3 stars for smut.
However, I really want to encourage this direction that Abby Knox is going, as opposed to some other smut writers (aka Alexa Riley). In actuality the story is probably a 2 star but...
- There's condoms (no painful pee is always a plus) - The guy asks for consent and continues to check-in - The girl is not a cookie cutter h in smut who is too naive to know the world
Okay fine she is still a virgin, but they are both virgins, so I am gonna let it go.
Another great book by Abby. I loved Boone and Delilah from the very start. They were both so real and I loved loved loved Delilah. Can't forget her grandma . I actually wish she would have been in it more . It was a short sweet read. It was hot and also funny at times. Must read
I really enjoyed Boone and Delilah’s story! It was sweet, sexy and a little dirty... all of the things I enjoy in a book. Abby Knox really knows how to write chemistry between her characters and this book was super steamy. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! I received this book as an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Doing him Good is Boone and Delilah story. I was so happy and thrilled to see Boone finally snap. Delilah is perfect for him. A must read. Funny and keeps you captivated.
I freaking loved this book. I personally love double virgin stories and loved so so much their awkwardness their first time. It was refreshing, funny and totally realistic. The fallen preacher and the tough woman. A weird combination that worked really really good. Another great book by Abby Knox.
I really enjoyed this one. It’s a quick story but full flushed out. Loved both the H and h. The Grandma was also great. This could have been a fantastic full length book.
Boone is Molly's older brother from Fencing Her In. In my opinion I actually liked Boone and Delilah's story so much more than Molly's.
Pastor Boone has found himself in hot water after taking dogs from unhealthy situations. There has also been some moving of funds that even as a pastor isn't something that the church committee can allow. Delilah has never stepped foot in a church before. But the one day she volunteers to take her grandmother is the day that her life changes for the better. On his way out from resigning as pastor, Boone picks her up and intends to sow the wild oats he's been forbidden from previous years before.
My only complaint on this book is I would've liked to have seen how Boone's problems from the beginning are solved. It just kind of seems everything gets swept under the rug and he just falls into work with his brother-in-law and a happily married life with Delilah.
