USA Today Bestselling author Kimberly Krey is known as the Queen of Steamy Clean Romance. She's a fervent lover of God, family, and cheese platters, as well as the ultimate hater of laundry. Her readers count on faith-filled romance novels that stay clean without losing the steam.
I enjoyed reading this series of romance stories. Great lite reading for several hours entertainment. A couple of the books were geared more toward teen readers but I enjoyed them as well.
I solidly liked all these stories in this collection. So 3 stars, but since each story was a perfect bite-sized piece of happy-smile-on-my-face, satisfied-sigh type of romance, I’m adding a star. Yep, I loved the size of each story, and the pleasure I had reading and finishing each book in a short time frame deserves a 4-star rating! Nothing too long that will consume me for days. Especially at this busy time of year. I think one was a novella and the rest were full sized, although still on the short side. They were the perfect length! And each one gave me a happy, warm glow. Kimberley Krey does a good job with writing fun, sweet romances.
The collection is probably well named since the stories would be good to read curled up all comfy like in front of a fire with the Christmas lights twinkling.
Her TV Bachelor Fake Fiancé: I hate reality TV and would never watch a bachelor type one, yet I really enjoyed the story. Probably because it was more about the couple's relationship than the show itself though the show was definitely still in there. I know lots of people do love these shows though. The story is a little predictable but still it is enjoyable to see how it gets to it's conclusion. I think the title was slightly misleading. The phrase Fake Fiancé was used in the story but the plot wasn't at all what I expected based on the title.
Getting Kole for Christmas: Cute title with a little play on words there. I am not a fan of fiction told in first person but I liked the story more than I thought I would especially because I'm not a fan of teenage romances either. But despite those two factors against this story I really did enjoy it.
The Hopeful Bride: I liked the characters in this one. It kind of played out like a Hallmark movie plot except the conflict was edgier than Hallmark generally is.
Getting Micah Under the Mistletoe: Again, this one has the teenage romance strike against it. I liked the story well enough when I could forget it was high school kids I was reading about. I suspect teens would find the story rather swoony.
Sex: some kissing Language: I only remember it in one story Violence: no
I enjoyed these books. They were fun reads with fun characters. The emotions of the characters were on point with the storyline. I will say I was a little sad with the last one as there were curse words, mild, but I still don't like coming across them. There were also.many euphemisms that let you know exactly what the character wanted to really say. I try to be very diligent in the books I read and don't like coming across these. Aside from that it was a cute story.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Overall, the stories were fun but the collection could have used better editing. The most egregious errors were inconsistencies with the name of a character's favorite charitable organization (sometimes it was Breaking Free; other times it was Break Free) and changing the spelling of a character's name (Barrette in two instances, Barrett in another), although there were other mistakes as well.
Because these sisters were bragging about a Christmas dance they hoped to attend. I guess I have to admit my age is too old to appreciate the kind of argumentitive dating this book explains.
This is a delightful collection of Christmas stories. The characters are wonderful and I love first loves and second chances. Perfect for getting into the holiday spirit!
