Personal Response
I really enjoyed reading this book because it talks about how animals live in the wild and you get to see there personal view of the earth. I learned about how animals try to stay away from humans and also from other animals. I would like to find more books like this one to read.
Plot
In the beginning of the book the first story is about a pack of wolves. The leader of the pack is Chinook and they live in western United States. That books tells about how they live and how they stay away from any people because they are dangerous. It tells about how they mate and how they raise there offspring also. The second story is about Tawney and she is a mountain lion who lives in the Rocky Mountains. It explains about how her pups got killed by hunters and how she ranges to find food.
Characterization
There are no main human characters in this book because it is the animals that are telling the story from there point of view. The animals are all afraid of man and all hunt and kill to survive. They are a lot like each other even though they live in different places of the Earth and are different breeds.
Recommendation
I recommend this book to any boy from the ages of 13 to 16. I recommend this book because it teaches humans and hunters about how predators survive and how they adapt to there surroundings. I really enjoyed reading this book.
