Thirst Trap is the story of four friends – “Misfits” by the world’s standards – Dillion, Jesse, Ivan, and Leo. This author created a pack of people that fall but rise back up, even if they do it all over again, they still keep rising. The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I liked the way the author talked about different relationships and the importance of friendship. Even though each one of the characters are different from

Four friends, who are all dealing (or not) with their own demons and issues, stumbling through life. The Thirst Trap wasn't what I expected. The blurb caught my interest, and I was more than a little intrigued by the dynamic and storyline. Would it be too busy with four main characters? Would it be cheesy? Would the characters need more development? These were just some of the questions I asked, and I have to say, no to all of them. It's about four friends who have their own baggage that they ...more

First of all, I want to start this review with a couple of trigger warnings: domestic abuse, alcoholism, talk of self-harm, and suicide. Now that I have those out of the way, I can start my review.

This is a book about four friends – Jesse, Ivan, Leo, and Dillion – with four very real problems. These four men are as close as they will allow themselves to be to anyone. But is that closeness enough? Does having best friends really help when you have some major issues that you are dealing with, or

Friends aren't always easy or perfect...But they are yours! That's what counts!

The Crew:

Dillion – go-go dancer who makes too many trips to the health clinic to be healthy

Jesse – mourning bartender who drinks too much to dull the pain and memory of that day tattooed on his soul

Ivan – gym rat by day scared mouse by night, but who could blame him when a monster sleeps so close

Leo – papa bear who hides his feelings and heart so he can watch over his friends, at the risk of losing what’s most

I admit that at first I wasn’t sure where this whole book was going to go. The characters felt like they were falling flat before my eyes. It wasn’t until halfway through the book that I felt the strength of these characters. I could feel that Zachary Ryan really cared about these characters and the story they were telling.

There are trigger warnings in this book. There are is a domestic abuse story line and also a story line that deals with suicide. So if these are sensitive topics for you,

Life doesn't always move on the same track. At times it starts drifting towards the path of tragedy, mishaps and continuous setbacks. Such is the life of the four friends Dillion,Jesse, Ivan and Leo who are trying to escape from the pitfalls they have unknowingly entered themselves into. All four of them were trying to put their troubles at the back seat and keep on continuing to live a normal life. Dillion was devastatingly heart-broken after the demise of his brother, the only support-pillar ...more

Thirst Trap is a book about four friends who are always pushing to the limit to keep their blown-up life away from each other and avoid being judged. Dillon is a creative homosexual Thirst trap who is knocked by writer's block since the time his brother died. Ivan, a stubborn victim of abuse is getting it hard to accept that he is in a failed relationship. Jesse, a loyal drunk can't get over his boyfriend's death which has left him with questions and remembrances of him. Leo, a closed-hearted ...more

Four damaged young gay friends stumbling through life

Four young gay friends stumbling through years of dysfunctional living. A lover's suicide, a brother's death, both occurred in the past, but the way the men deal (or really, don't deal with them) are holding the tragedies in the present. A man in a toxic relationship with a physical abuser and a married man paying more attention to his friends' problems than his husband. All four main characters are well fleshed out. The supporting characters

If you need a group of friends story with all the feels, this is IT. I was instantly immersed in the world this group of four exists in and while it's really rough, it's also really REAL.

The whole ride was a great example to me of 'this too shall pass'. When you're in it, it feels impossible, but it always ends. Watching them all get their lives together around the same time was like taking a deep breath after holding it underwater. So good.

Highly Recommend!

This is the 2nd book I've read written by Zachary Ryan; he has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of his books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the characters.

A group of “misfits” by the world’s standards, but in this book we read about a group of friends who argue, support, create intervention when necessary and above all love each other. This story is warm, intense and healing. This author created a pack of people that fall but rise back up, even if they do it all over again, they still keep rising. The conclusion is encouraging and pretty much fantastic!

Zachary Ryan grew up in a black-and-white box in Maryland, before moving to Chicago to start a new life. There, he found that he was accepted for his misfit status—and learned that it’s perfectly normal to spend your twenties feeling lost and confused.

After a disastrous sexual encounter, Ryan stumbled on a group of true friends, or “soul cluster,” that he connected with. Through his writing, he
