I've made a lot of dumb mistakes but none dumber than losing her.

Senior year. I should be partying and living it up with my friends before graduation, but one more mistake and I'm off the team.

Enter Chloe. She comes into my life at a low point, but she becomes the bright spot I reach for every day. She's the kind of girl who makes a guy want to be a better man. And for a

I feel like we’re finally seeing each other without any pretenses or expectations, and us like this—as a real couple—we’re even better than I ever imagined when we’d been faking.

What is it about Rebecca Jenshak's books that just make me giddily happy every time I finish one? She has this knack for writing completely addictive sport New Adult romance that I fall head over ovaries for and The Fake was no exception! I simply ADORED Nathan and Chloe's story.

I've been a huge fan of this

Loved Chloe & Nathan!

I’m so sad that this is the last Smart Jocks book, BUT I think that Nathan was the perfect Valley U basketball player to end the series. His story is fun and sweet, but has a bit of an emotional edge to it. For his heroine and him especially. It’s senior year and Chloe is a new volleyball player transfer that comes with a rumor mill and something to prove. Nathan has stuff going on that no one really knows about and when it comes to light you’ll just want to hold him. I

Chloe Macpherson is a 21 yr. old college student who comes from a wealthy family. She transfers from California to Valley U her senior year and is excited to get a spot on the Valley U beach volleyball team. She’s hoping to escape some drama in her past, and is looking for a second chance, and a fresh start, but things aren’t going so great. She’s at a new college, and in a different city, and wants to make a good impression. She wants to

4 - "Hot and awesome." Stars!

Book four, the final book in the Smart Jocks series (cries uncontrollably) gives us Nathan’s story, basically the party boy from the previous three books, his life is literally unravelling in front of his eyes in this one. Enter stage left, Chloe; new-girl, and someone who is trying to get her life back together by moving to a new college after her life also spectacularly unravelled at her previous one, albeit through no fault of her own.

"Who are you hiding from…"

‘I don’t want to be the guy who saved her, I want to be the guy she chooses.’

There’s nothing better than becoming so attached to a series and watching the characters grow through each of their standalone books, and every book in the Smart Jocks Series by Rebecca Jenshak has made us just as eager for her next release, and The Fake, again reminded us why we love this series so much.

Brimming with friendship, loyalty, camaraderie, sweetness, heat and just enough drama to make us catch our

The Fake is my new favorite book in Rebecca Jenshak's series of interconnected standalone college sports romances. From cover to cover, I loved every bit of this story of two college athletes agreeing to a mutually beneficial fake relationship. Of course their attraction is FIERY and their chemistry is off the charts and the feelings are REAL, but with neither believing they're in any position to commit to an actual relationship, things are left unsaid, the sexual tension is bubbling,

So I had this idea that Nathan's book was going to be heartbreaking. After the bits and pieces I had picked up from him as a secondary character I knew that he had issues at home and was absolutely the least fortunate of the white house boys. And I guess I made assumptions. And I was pretty much wrong on most of them.

The things I learnt about Nathan in this book made me hurt for him but not in a sad, broken way. Because Nathan was so much more than I thought. He was so sweet and all the stupid

“For the next forty minutes, we workout side by side. We take turns picking the exercises. I push her to add more weight, and she pushes me to move quicker between sets. Her competitive spirit and my desire to flat out not be shown up by a girl makes me work harder. She has this effect on me, I’m finding—she makes me want to be better at a lot of things.”

We know Nathan from the previous books in the series especially the last one as he fancied himself in love with Gabby and cut his hair because he thought that was what she wanted. Eventually they became best friends.a
In the present Nathan has been selling drugs to help support his mom and younger brother. He's busted by his coach but is allowed another chance. At a party he meets new volleyball senior transfer student Chloe who has been

She's so much more than a girl I'm dating. I call her my princess, but I'm not the white knight. She is. She saved me.

I'm sad to say that I didn't love this one as much as the previous books in the series. The Smart Jocks novels have played such a huge part in renewing my interest in contemporary NA novels, so they will always hold a special place on my shelves. The beginning of this novel just felt a little too forced and I didn't feel the connection between Nathan and Chloe beyond their

Damn did I love these two. I think they may rival Zeke and Gabby for top couple in this series....yes, they were that good. We already know Nathan, but in this book we get to meet Chloe. She’s a volleyball transfer, that has teammates that are pretty nasty to her. Don’t worry, it’s all explained in the book, is it a good reason...not in my opinion, but I did understand. Anyway, these two are down on their luck and just kind of find each other. They have a hot night together and then, because he’ ...more

"The End." Two words have never made me more sad about a series ending. I've loved going on this journey of meeting these Smart Jocks and watching them fall in love. It's bittersweet to say goodbye but it was done perfectly!

If I have learned anything from reading this series, it is that I am helpless against the charms (such as they may be) of a Smart Jock.

Nathan. Siiiiiigh. This guy. He wasn't what I was expecting. I mean, having read the other books in this series, I felt like I was already primed to love him. But I had no idea how easy it was going to be to love him. He was so much more than I anticipated. He was loyal, steadfast, earnest and true.

So. Wonderful.

I mean, and also wounded. And imperfect. And

A sweet conclusion to Smart Jocks series! Nate was a mystery from the beginning and I loved learning more about the guy we've met so far. He's keeping some heavy secrets and carries serious weight on his shoulders but he finds his match in Chloe. These two will make your heat ache, but they'll also make you swoon. I can see what next Jenshak has in store for us!

Well, this one is bittersweet for me. It was heartwarming yet sad, because The Fake is the fourth and final book in the Smart Jocks series. And what a fantastic series it was! This is a standalone, but you should read the other 3 because they are all so good!

The Fake follows the always intriguing Nathan and a new transfer student, Chloe. Chloe comes with quite a past with a scandal that is very timely today. Nathan made some bad decisions and got himself into quite a bit of trouble. They are

Oh Nathan! He’s been around in some degree since the first book of this series. And in The Tip-Off we learn that something is going on with him, we just don’t know what. I couldn’t wait to read about Nathan! Well we certainly find out in The Fake what’s happening with him and we learn what kind of person Nathan is. He’s someone who will give up so much of himself for those he loves! And we also get introduced to Chloe and get immersed in a new sport. I love Chloe and Nathan together! They ...more

The Fake is the fourth and final book in the Smart Jocks series.

Nathan’s story is sweet, fun and emotional. There’s some stuff that Nathan is going through that no one knows about. And once things are revealed you can’t help but feel for him.

Chloe is a new volleyball transfer. She has self doubts about herself, her talent and other people’s loyalties. Being at a new school she definitely has something to prove, especially to herself.

I was gifted an Arc for an honest review.

I loved Nathan and Chloe. In the previous books you knew something was going on with Nathan and in this book all is revealed. Chloe supported him and he supported her. They both had their own personal struggles but together they were stronger.

Chloe started off with a 'fake' boyfriend but it was never fake to Nathan and as a reader you could see it was not really fake to Chloe. They were great together. That epilogue was amazing but still left you wanting

Overall Grade:

It began with curmudgeonly, yet compassionate Wes. Then, we were given playboy, yet kind Joel. After Joel, there was Zeke, the silent, but soulful type. And now, Rebecca Jenshak has crafted the piece de resistance of her Smart Jocks series with Nathan Paynter. Seemingly aloof and hiding secrets, what we find in this new hero is the essence of the romantic hero: a romantic heart.

I would love to say that I, Professor A, would choose any of these heroes over the other, but I can’t. I

As the saying goes - fake it till you make it!

When Nathan gets caught with the drugs he's been dealing, his basketball coach gives him his last warning - one more mistake and he's out the door. At the athletics mixer before the new school year starts, he happens across Chloe, a new transfer, who's hiding from the rest of the party. After being

This story is endearing, fun, and a sweet finalé to wrap the whole series up. I adore Nathan and only want the best for him. I'm so glad Rebecca Jenshak got him his happily-ever-afters! I've loved New Adult/College romance! It's no wonder that I become so invested in these books. I'm just sad that this series is extremely underrated in the romance genre. What an incredible finale to the Jocks series! I absolutely adored Nathan and Chloe’s story. Nathan has always been one of my favorite characters from the series, being the younger of the Valley crew and so darn charismatic but beautifully broken. I was quite invested in his personal story and how he’d overcome his issues. The night terrors... the financial set backs... all of his struggles made me extremely empathetic to his character.

Chloe was the perfect match for Nathan! She was strong and

Nathan's pretty elusive the last few books just few snippets here and there him hanging with the guys. Laid back and easy going. Underneath all that he's struggling to keep his family a float money wise. He resorted to selling drugs and got caught. Chloe is a product of the recent event happening a college admission scam of getting bought her way in. I dunno if the students were kicked out like she. She transferred schools and people thought badly of her. I can understand she didn't know ...more
