What a fabulous way to finish up the Christopher Fry. This interesting piece of theatre follows about 24 hours in an Italian Palazzo shortly after WWII, but all the wounds are still fresh as two families begin to slowly mend their guilt, anger and pain. There is some funny stuff in here, but it's not the verbal repartee and play on words of some of his other plays. This is sad, but not melodramatic and people learn to live after surviving a horrible time that not everyone did. This is a play about picking up the pieces and choosing which parts of you to keep as you put yourself back together after an unimaginable time. Strong, but not overly sappy. I loved it.
