A worthwhile read for anyone interested in how memories of war are shaped. The first chapter on commemoration theory is useful for anyone entering the field, and most of the case studies examined are relevant to the topic.

Perhaps one case study (the Portuguese War Literature chapter) could have been improved. I felt that the author had not broke down the books being examined clearly, making the chapter difficult to follow through.

Other than that I would recommend!
