I am beauty. I am grace. And yes, I will also punch you in the fucking face.
I never wanted to be a killer. Not until my entire family was slaughtered. Now, though? Now, killing is what I live for. And I’ve gone so far down my path for vengeance that there’s no going back.
I made a deal with a demon, and I liked it.
The power that comes with demon possession is heady. The more I use it, the more addicted I become even if it does come with a little catch. Sex demons need sex to survive, after all. No fucking way. Sex only complicates things and I need to be on my A game if I’m going to find the one responsible for killing my family. That’s my number one priority. Find the vampire linchpin and cut his damn head off—no matter the target it paints on my back.
The dead belong in the ground, and one way or another, I intend to put them all there.
This series is ridiculous but also quite addictive- like not being able to look away from a crash! We have demons and monsters, vampires and dhampires, witches. ALL THE THINGS, succubus sexy feelings, sexy times and all the nonsense in between, two of the main characters started out as vampire hunters and they still are, while being also changed beyond all recognition. Book 3 : bring it on!
Dead Girl Walking was such a good sequel! In it, you have Barbie trying to deal with in inner demon. As well as trying to maneuver her love life between Mav and Torin. It did surprise me that it took them so long to realize that Barbie had a demon sort of possessing her. But I was not surprised when she finally got some much needed sexy times with both guys.
The romance was so freaking good and I definitely love how different they were with her. Whether it was the inner succubus using her charms on them or them finally freaking realizing that they have these huge ass feelings for one another - well, I was here for it all and then some.
As for the family drama? I knew something was up this assholes sleeve when Torin was gone for a month. So when Barbie is put in danger to lure him in.. I don't think daddy dearest knew what was coming for him. Heck, I'm not even sure how to feel with the little cliffhanger either!
In the end, I'm so excited for the next book. I'm secretly hoping that she somehow got pregnant but will be happy if they all end up being together and the dad and Torin's sisters are dead and gone. I'm not asking for much, right?
Dead Girl Walking takes place a few months after the events of Rest in Pieces; Torin is MIA, Maverick fully engrosses his new vampire hunter job and Barbie has to deal with her demon and tendency to faint every chapter.
Let’s get straight to it: I honestly do not understand the point of this story. The plot is as simple as it gets and the characters get no development whatsoever; Torin is a hot mess, Maverick has massive issues and Barbie threw her brain out of the window. They all go back and forth between anger and desire without making a single step forward growth.
Nevertheless, non existent plot aside, Barbie the Vampire Hunter IS entertaining and hot. The sexual tension is panty melting and the major cliffhanger is breaking the never finish curse. But I do hope Barbie stabs them both by the end of the third book's prologue.
I’ve enjoyed this second book and I appreciated seeing these three begin to find a rhythm together. There’s definitely some push and pull between Torin and Maverick as boundaries are established and jealousy’s worked out, but I did feel by the end of this they were on their way to finally being on the same page.
We also really get a sense of Barbie's inner demon here and I liked all of her sassy inner snark. Everyone here is currently evolving into their true potential including Maverick who is sick of being the weak link of there trio and takes some drastic measures to even the odds. Things all finally come to a dramatic conclusion in Italy where things are definitely now changed forever especially considering the consequences of that final climatic act.
I’m excited to jump into the final book and experience the conclusion to all of this especially to see how Barbie navigates this next stage of her evolution. I definitely recommend this series it’s so far been an easy well written read that I’m enjoying a lot.
When you make a deal with a succubus demon, make sure you read the fine print. Barbie may have struck a deal but she never thought it’d be so hard to resist the side effects from having a demon inside of her. And after all she goes through in this book, having a demon in her will not only be the least of her worries, all the powers she’s been growing used to won’t matter in the least. This book packed one hell of a punch and damn if the ending didn’t continually grow in intensity and blindside me left and right. I expected parts of the ending but I was still in no way prepared. Villain numero uno, aka Torin’s father, finally makes an appearance and there’s more than one reason this man has lived so long, he’s the epitome pure evil and even his own family is beneath him in his eyes. By the end though, almost all three (Maverick, Barbie and Torin) have changed drastically. They’re all now unique and more powerful than ever before, but if this is enough to defeat Arrius remains to be seen. Have really been enjoying this series so I can’t wait to see how this trio (or quad if you count Torin’s vampire) find their way to a HEA.

Written in multiple POVs, Torian, Mav, and Barbie.
It's an okay read. There's friendship developing, two young men to either choose, not choose. It's fun for Barbies reactions, snark, strength, and skills.
Vampires, demons, witches, and volcano beings. There are probably more in this world, but so far, these are the sups we know of. In book 2 and so far, the world extends from the house to school. The world build doesn't really go further. Characters are well built, helped by the multple POVs.
It's a little flat in some places, including the smut. There isn't a lot of smex, but there is angst and steam.
This was even better than the first one in the series, and I cannot wait to see how this series ends in the next book!!! Barbie is beautifully full of wit and sarcasm, Mav and Torin are the perfect super hot book boyfriends, and the suspense is enough to make this book impossible to put down! The characters are really what make this book special - in addition to the main three, there is a super evil monster of a villain, plus a cast of supporting characters that draws you in and makes you not want to leave. Read this series today, or else you might regret it!
All the players are known now, and the pieces are in place. The trio are learning how to be together as well as separate. I liked this installment as well, but it got tedious with Barbie staying in denial of the cost she agreed to for so long.
That was amazing. Fantastic writing, great story/plot line and so much good action (in every way;)). Great escalation in the series. Finally she gets laid. The witch is a favorite of mine and I’m pretty sure Arrius is death reincarnated. The author leaves the book on a nicely timed cliffhanger, that I’m hoping turns into the 3 of them doing the Hanky panky and not a death lol! 10/10 I’m SO excited to see where this goes.
Barbie has been on a path of vengeance since her family was extinguished by a vampire. Her only goal is to destroy their murderer. She's even made a deal with a demon for more power. But with the power, there is a trade-off. Her demon is a succubus and to balance the power, Barbie needs to have sex. And major complication even though her partners are a sexy vampire who claims to be her mate and a gorgeous human willing to do anything for her.
This book was a bit of a let down after book one. To me, it was missing the sense of fun that made it so entertaining. Torin was darker after being tortured, Mav hated his humanity and Barbie fought the demon's needs to the point of irritation. She was stuck in a circular argument for most of the book. Die or have sex. So instead of following her heart and her desires, she was a coward, afraid to allow herself to feel anything for the guys. She can pretend to be a bad*** vampire hunter but her physical strength is nothing if she can't take a chance with her emotions. I was really disappointed in her character.
I rated this a four-star but it would have been a three-star if not for the ending. The intensity and uncertainty for all three character's well-being and the danger coming from several directions earned an additional star. I just hope that the next book goes back to having some fun.
I am beauty. I am grace. And yes, I will also punch you in the fucking face. I never wanted to be a killer. Not until my entire family was slaughtered. Now, though? Now, killing is what I live for. This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.

~Dead girl walking review~ Book #2 vampire hunter trilogy
Fantastic way to start the begging of book 2 Barbie and Maverick for four months now have been researching vampires and hunting them together finding nests, Maverick and Torin don’t know though that Barbie isn’t fully human anymore she has a little friend connected to her.
She is screwed, she’s Torins mate but Maverick wants her more than she knows. And Barbie’s demon wants her to take one of them.
Both of these boys are completely obsessed with her and both want her and boy are they possessive 😂
Well she ended up needing to give into her demon and had to do the deed with one of the boys and it was Maverick noooo I wanted it to be Torin first SHES HIS MATE😭
Okay now I feel bad because she did the deed with Torin and now I feel bad for Maverick because he’s gonna be heartbroken like Torin was this book is breaking me 😭😂
And she was captured by Torins father the man who put a hit out on her family so long ago such an asshole.
He turned her into a vampire omg if he her mate as she is his, I don’t hate him for doing he loved her but it does go against everything she stood for

DAMN! This story is one thrilling roller coaster ride of epic proportions! The twists and turns throughout kept me on the edge of my seat fully captivated and highly entertained. The story keeps getting darker and more twisted! Love it!
Barbie is witty, fierce and becoming an even stronger kickass heroine. She is so strong but things aren’t going the way she planned! Now that she made a deal with a demon there’s no telling what she will be capable of. Some things she does not want to cave on but her body won’t let her rest until she does.
Maverick and Torin are growing stronger and sexier as the story continues. They are the perfect match for Barbie. They are there for her whether she wants them to be or not. It makes for some very interesting, highly intense and extremely combustible moments. Very Very Sexy Moments!
And that ending - AMAZING! There are no other words for it. It’s a twist you don’t see coming. Prepare for some shock!
Everything about this series is freaking fantastic. It is blowing me away! I can’t wait to read the conclusion. Highly recommend.
Our heroine is out to avenge the death of her family and claims to be willing to do just about anything to make that happen. But if she is willing to make a deal with a demon, why won't she pay its price?
This is book two in the series and it works pretty well as a standalone. I have not read book one and had no problems keeping up, although it was obvious I was missing some of the background.
This is an action packed urban fantasy story with a fast paced plot and lots of action. I found the story to be well written if not a little wordy occasionally. The characters are also well developed, which is saying something considering I missed book one. I like our heroine's snarky attitude, although she does get a bit angsty at times as well. But the story itself is fast and furious, grabbing hold and keeping you going to the end. Overall, it made for a highly enjoyable story and I look forward to catching both the beginning and the end.
Highly recommended.

I can not say how much I loved this series. I read book one and was immediately at a loss since book 2 was not out yet. And when it came out I made myself wait until book 3 was out and read the whole series from beginning to end in 2 days. I loved it so much I could not put it down.
Barbie is a total badass and her charter development was perfect. The relationship to her men was perfect and well developed. These was a real story with emotion which was amazing. Who doesn't love a good revenge story that has some steamy sex along they way.
The twists also in this series were not anticipated and were a great surprise that kept me and I am sure any who read it hooked into the series. The succubus demon being in her was perfect and comical at times. I hope to see more series like this because I loved it!
It was well written and developed. It would even say realistic because it made me honestly thing that there could be vampires and the way this is written it could be real. I highly recommend this book series.
I was really curious to see what Barbie was going to do about that deal she made with a demon in Book 1; how on earth could that have been a good idea? But this book fell a little flat on that front; it's as if the succubus was just a pretext for focusing way too much on sex in this book. I really like Barbie's spunk and attitude, so I was disappointed to see how her character developed in this book. Rather than being the kick*** heroine in charge of her own fate that I was looking for, she turns into someone who is controlled by lust and anger (still very well-written with plenty of snark, to be sure). Also, I think Mav is turning into a little bit of a whiny character; I need him to just man up. The story itself doesn't progress very much at all for pages on end--then everything kind of happens in the last 15% of the book, but wow! What an unexpected ending!

This second book starts off with Torin leaving town for weeks while Barbie and Maverick continue to train and hunt down vampires. I loved the jump right back in to action. This book builds upon the events of the last book mostly by focusing on the consequences of the deal Barbie made. The romance triangle is also taken up quite a few notches. Torin and Maverick struggle with their intense feelings for Barbie and they are not happy about the idea of sharing. Torin was my favorite in the last book but I think I enjoyed Maverick more in this book. His character is on a personal quest to not be the helpless human and I’m interested to see how his character develops more in the next book. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one!

This book sees a continuation for Barbie, Torin, and Maverick from Rest in Pieces (Book 1). Each are fighting battles of their own as well as trying to work out how they go together. Torin is going through some family issues. Mav doesn't like feeling like a weak link. And Barbie is resisting coming, uh, to terms with her little demon that gives her the power she needs, but at a price. A price she argues with herself about a lot, which doesn't help anyone.
All three MC have their moments - both good and less than good. There is angst. I'm not a big fan of angst especially when it is brought about, in part, by their own actions. Thankfully, though, it's pretty low key and more than made up for by other parts of the story. I feel like there was less fun, and less fun snark than in the first, but things are always bleak before the storm, right? And the twist. Loved the twist .
Following up from my review of the first book in this trilogy, Dead Girl Walking finds us back with Barbie who is now possessed by a succubus, Maverick beginning to understand that being human makes him weak and he’s looking to remedy that, while Torin has to reveal the secrets behind his birth.
Barbie is, as ever, quick-witted, has the mouth of a fishwife, and has her bad-ass moments. However using the powers the succubus granted her comes at a cost – doesn’t it always in these tropes? In order to replenish the reserves she uses, Barbie must make like a succubus. This is the part of the book that is a little frustrating to me. Barbie literally made a deal with a demon but she isn’t willing to pay its price.
Almost dying forces Barbie into a situation that has both men at each other’s throats, her mate status revealed, and Maverick makes a choice that could either help or hinder everything.
This book is more of a page-turner than it’s predecessor. Near constant combat keeps you satisfied as you’re drip-fed Torin’s history and the team prepare to battle the equivalent of death itself. However, the succubus aspect came across as just a way to constantly have underlying sexual tones which did become quite tedious. ----
I enjoyed the book because at face-value it’s a simple gore-fest, add in some vampire killing, a little love story, and finally, the mild annoyance that is self-created angst and et voilà ! – You have the perfect recipe for a mindless YA novel.
The cliffhanger at the end was entirely unexpected and had me adding the release date of the third, and final, instalment into my calendar – which was yesterday, by the way 😉

This is book 2 to Barbie the Vampire Hunter I loved this story plus I love the blurb it made me chuckle and when I read it I had to put this into my review as well because I haven’t laughed at a blurb in a long time just the first sentence mind you, anyway this is the continuation from book 1 and it’s even better than the first one. I love Barbie she is such a kick ass character and she still has a mouth worse than a sailor, there is so much going on in this story that I’m not going to give any spoilers but you do need to read book 1 before you start this one and let me tell you it’s so worth it because this is a brilliant story/ series it’s a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
I LOVE this series. Dead Girl Walking kicks off where book #1 (Rest in Pieces) left us. I mean, Rest in Pieces was a brilliant read, but this book takes the story and characters to the next level. Barbie - I really love this character, stands her ground, gives as good as she gets and will fights 'the bad guys'. Torin and Mav **sighs** two totally different characters, that work SO well together. They give as good as they get and yet, support each other, yet push the boundaries. The storyline just keeps sucking you in, the twists and turns..... holy crap. Brew the coffee and kick the cat off the comfy chair. Highly recommend.
The first book was intriguing. The MFC was abrasive but I figure she was due some crankiness. The guys were different and I enjoyed it. The storyline kept me reading and waiting for book 2.
However, I almost stopped reading this book. The MFC denied, denied, denied until the point that she was freaking annoying. I get fighting back. Not succumbing right away. But being dumb about it is obnoxious and from a 1980s B rated movie. She out herself and the guys in danger.
I did finish the book. Glad I did. Loved the ending and the twist. I will read book 3.
I think this is book 2 in series so I was a bit confused in the beginning, I had no idea of what was going on. Still once i read few chapters the story picked up and was entertaining, action packed and full of great characters and witty comebacks. I liked Barbie, she was great though at times a bit whiny. Torin was interesting and somewhat different than other MMC's, in other words, not a d*** in the beginning, then grows on you. I liked their interactions and how the the story played out. Will check out book one and catch up on what happened the first time around and look forward to book three.

Slightly disappointing after the events of Rest in Pieces. There wasn't a lot happening, then BAM! the ending, which of course leaves you (once again) wondering how this change will effect the trio. I'm going to read Ashes to Ashes because (1) the ending of this installment and (2) it's a trilogy and that'll be the end.
The series seems to be getting better and better Barbie is still in need to get revenge and now with her succubus demons she might just get it. Maverick States that He wants to protect both Barbie and Torin and will do whatever it takes to do it even if that means making a deal with anicent beast. Torin On the other hand has the deal with his vampires possessiveness and his need for Barbie as its mate. Once they get to Italy all better off Barbie will do whatever it takes to get her revenge but when the choice is taken from her, death may be the only option.
Okay, so Lucinda Dark is a writing goddess! The story continues, the plot thickens and the excitement grows exponentially. With a fiesty kick butt heroine and 2 gorgeous bad boys, I am absolutely adoring this series. I love the humour throughout the drama in this well written storyline, I am being kept in the edge of my seat, with twists I did not see coming. I am in complete awe and cannot wait for the next book, the writer draws you right in and with the multiple POV between the three main characters, you get the whole story and everyone’s feelings. Amazing, highly recommend
Dead Girl walking is better than the 1st book. It is fast paced action, emotionally charged, and finally some sexy time. After Barbie and Mav got past all of their angst, they work well as a team. This installment focuses more on Barbie’s inner turmoil with her demon and what she views as right and wrong. The end of the book is bittersweet but brings forth a new beginning for the trio, and their quest to kill Arrius Priest. I can’t wait to see how the trilogy ends
