Celebrate All the Way to the Bank Weddings, parades, fairs, graduations, conferences, political rallies, fashion shows, what do they have in common? Everyone would rather have someone else plan and conduct them. That someone else can be you, if you're a professional event planner who knows how to design an event, find a location, arrange entertainment, plan transportation, and do the myriad things needed to bring it off successfully. Start Your Own Event Planning Business, part of Entrepreneur magazine's highly regarded Startup Series, provides all the tools you need to start, run, and grow one of today's most profitable businesses. Why should you buy this book?
As the book is from the early 2008, a lot of the references for websites on their resources section are extremely outdated and many of them are no longer in business or on their second/third name change. Overall, the book has great pointers and advice, but a newer edition needs to be released for anything to be relevant.
I don't know how good the book would be considered for someone who's a seasoned professional in this field, but I think it does a good job covering the bases for someone who doesn't know much about the business. Good to read to get an idea of what to expect if you're thinking about becoming a (successful) event planner.
This book does a good job of covering the basics for starting an event planning business. My daughter is starting a business and she is constantly asking my advice. After reading this book, I think I am prepared to give my opinion to her.
This applied to american laws but I am in Canada. I was hoping for more of a step by step on how to in planning, but it did cover business model planning and the like.
