The Vacuum Preparedness bit was hilarious -- "Remember, if it's not a broom, leave the room." Ha!

Also had great fun reading the sections covering Thanksgiving and Christmas. The extra goodies at the end include paper dolls, a fun rock craft, and a colorful apartment layout. A great addition to the BCN series!

Aww, these books are always so cute. I read the first two awhile ago, but I didn’t realize there were more!

As a cat lover, these books are absolutely amazing. They’re funny, sweet, and the art is so adorable! I think that the stories and how they’re shared with the reader is so unique, and I really do ebony these books.

These books nicely capture and the crazy, adventurous side of cats with the characters, but the author also leaves room for the characters to learn and grow.

Since this book is so short, I don’t really have much else to say, but if you like cats, this is a cute little middle grade read you might enjoy!

I believe this is the third book by this author, following the lives of the three primary kitties and their friends. While this is a cartoon, it is highly recommended that you read the first ones before this one, as the characters and their relationships are set up in those, so you might miss some of the nuances in this one if you skip the others.

The other ones seemed to me to be a tad lighter in tone. This one had a rather sad subplot that was a tad on the morbid side for me. I've had enough sad in my world right now, so that bit didn't help overly much. I guess I'm not looking for that in my reading material right now.

Despite that, the artwork was still lovely and the kitties were still cute, but I felt like some of the heart was missing from this installment. 3.5 stars, rounded down, because of that sad subplot. Not saying this one was bad, it was good, but having read the other two and absolutely loved them, this was a tad less than I was expecting and hoping for. Definitely glad I read it and will seek out any future ones and read them instantly.

3, not bad but hoping for more, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an eARC copy of this to read and review.

I really liked the longer stories in this one. Tillie's story made me cry, or maybe that's down to everyone, cats and all, having a head cold.

Little cat sneezes are funny, even when they're sneezing on you. But Little dragging cats with no appetite are sad.

I love Breaking Cat News! I used to read it in web comic form but it was so hard to keep track of where I was. For years I have been hoping they would make them into books. I am so glad that they are continuing to put them in book form!

Breaking Cat news is a comic that is great for any age. It is about 3 indoor cats that have a news cast about everything that goes on in the apartment. Along the way they meet new friends that help them as special correspondents in other apartments or outside. It is funny and endearing. I would recommend it to everyone who needs a lighthearted read to get them through the day!

This ARC was provided to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am a long time Breaking Cat News fan, dating back to the time when it was a web comic with some lengthy story installments. Due to syndication, the strips are now just three panels long for dailies. While they are still a total delight, I have to admit I sometimes miss the longer bits of story that needed more panels. A Halloween story in particular was a favorite and I am very happy to say it appears in its entirety here. This is a wonderful comic with humor, heart, and memorable characters. Highly recommended.

Not for me. The art was okay for its style but the humor behind it all was just too easy/simple for my personal liking. I didn't enjoy it!

I enjoyed the antics and funny stories in Breaking Cat News and Lupin Leaps In so much that I pre-ordered Take It Away, Tommy! Now Puck, Lupin, Elvis--and new friend and reporter, Tommy--are joined by other cats, mice (including Baba Mouse), and even ghosts. I want to mention more of the things I enjoyed, but I won't! However, don't miss the timeless scene(s) with the provider, ... and that warm, inviting glow--past and present. Then there's "Our IX Lives," the Christmas story, and more, plus the activities at the end.

“Take It Away, Tommy” is Georgia Dunn’s third BCN book and as with the other two (“Breaking Cat News” and “Lupin Leaps In”), it is a compendium of her cartoon strips from the recent past. I already knew all of the stories in this volume as I read her comic every day, but I love the comic so much that I will happily buy all the books (and teeshirts, and bookmarks and posters and pins and….) that she chooses to put out. The back of this volume includes tips on how to make cat reporters out of pet rocks, and tips for making paper dolls, including costumes for all the cats. I never pretend to give an “objective” review of Ms. Dunn’s work because I’m totally besotted with it (Pucky’s my favourite, but don’t tell Elvis or Lupin that!); I’m just super-happy to have my own copy of this volume. You can find the strip at GoComics.com - give it a look and see if you don’t adore it as much as I do! Recommended, of course!

Take It Away, Tommy! was a delightful collection of Breaking Cat News comics featuring some new characters.

Reporters Elvis, Lupin, and Puck cover all news important to cats in the Big Pink House. Our trio of reporters along with field reporter Tommy cover topics ranging from the history of fuzzy blankets to Vacuum Awareness Week. Whatever the story, these reporters are ready to cover it all.

Breaking Cat News has been one of my favorite comic strips for years, so I'm really enjoying picking up these collections. The idea of the series, cats as reporters, is a great one and perfectly fits with cats' curious natures. With adorable illustrations and clever story lines, these comics are the perfect thing to pick up when you're looking for something fun.

Throughout the collection, our group of reporters cover a number of topics relevant to the Big Pink House. I enjoyed the variety of the stories included with the ghost cat and Christmas stories being my favorites in the collection. The cast is expanded in this collection with my new favorites being Burt, a barn cat and the gang's new AV guy, and the robber mice, a group of mice who have been pilfering the belongings of our reporters for a long time. I loved the additional characters and the expanded cast made for some great stories.

Overall Take It Away, Tommy! was a fantastic collection and I highly recommend these comics to cat lovers. I will definitely be picking up the next collection, Elvis Puffs Out, soon.

This is the third collection of the amazing web comic series, "Breaking Cat News." Five stars are not enough to show how much I adore this series, but since it's all we have, it will have to suffice!

Though it is marketed towards middle school readers, the stories will hold the interest of cat lovers of all ages. The artwork is beautiful and the story lines are are quite familiar to anybody who has ever been owned by a trio of cats! All of the original gang make appearances in this book, and we are also introduced to their neighbors Burt and Baba Mouse who give us a glimpse into the life of barn cats. There are stories that will make you laugh out loud and others that will bring tears. There are stories for cats and people of all ages.

My all time favorite story arc is the beautiful Halloween Special that provides us with the history of the Big Pink House and the former owner who was founder of the local cat sanctuary. It's spooky, but not too scary for younger readers. And the ending is so poignant it will stay with you for a long time.

I also love "Pucky's Purrfect Christmas Tips," a BCN Christmas story about a gang of Robber Mice and a kidnapped favorite toy. The caper entertains while providing an important lesson about revenge and forgiveness. We even get an episode of "Our IX Lives," a telenovela/soap opera starring cats, of course!

There are also more paper cat dolls.

The Breaking Cat News felines are here with more news to keep you informed. In this collection they share about a ghostly feline who keeps showing up looking for someone, they have a run-in with a local mouse gang at Christmas, and assorted other little adventures mixed in.

I liked the Christmas comics story line the best out of this collection. It has a good message and some funny cats at Christmas things woven in. There are a couple new cats introduced to the feline crowd from the neighborhood as well as some recurring fictional ones in a TV series that various critters are rather into. Those who don’t like ghost stories may want to skip the first part of this book. It isn’t really scary, but it does make ghosts seem real to the people and cats in the comics. Overall, it’s a cute and humorous comics collection perfect for cat lovers middle grade on up.

Notes on content [based on ARC]: No language issues or sexual content. As mentioned there’s a ghost story and it is stated there was a past accident that resulted in a sudden death. (No gory details.)

I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Just what the doctor ordered! This arrived promptly on publication date, and I've been savoring it over several days. I follow this comic daily, and here are some of my favorite threads... Tillie the ghost cat, Baba Mouse, cat massages, the kidnapping of Buzzy Mouse, and the soap opera "Our IX Lives."

Description: Once again Lupin, Elvis, and Puck—alongside boisterous field correspondents like Tommy—deliver hard-hitting reportage on all of the most pressing issues, such as Vacuum Awareness Week, the case of the missing breakfast, and the history of fuzzy blankets. The gang also meets new characters like Burt, the free-spirited barn cat who helps solve some AV problems. The More-to-Explore section includes paper dolls, how to make pet rock cats, and explores the Big Pink House and the BCN apartment within.

This is a hilarious graphic novel, with cats reporting on the news.

The cats report on various issues in the house, including a ghost, holidays, and a kidnapping of a toy mouse. Their perspectives on human actions were so funny. They insisted on fixing a man’s hair once he got a haircut by licking his head. They had the common enemy of the vacuum cleaner, who they tried to become friends with despite the danger. They also got into any food that was left around the house.

There were some cute crafts at the end of the book. One idea was to make pet rocks for anyone who can’t have a pet cat. Another craft was paper dolls of the characters that could be cut out of the back of the book.

This book was so funny! It’s a great gift for anyone who loves cats!

'Take It Away, Tommy!: A Breaking Cat News Adventure' by Georgia Dunn finds the news team of cats having new adventures.

In hard-hitting news format, the cats of Breaking Cat News bring stories of how to avoid the vacuum, and the cat (and litter) shortages. A new audio tech has joined the team and set up in the basement. There is also the story of a mysterious ghost cat that is lingering around the house.

This is a fun series, but at the 3rd volume, some of the bits feel like ones I've read before. I still think it's fun though and I love the fun activities that are included with each volume.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Another great Breaking Cat News Adventure. This book includes some fan favorites like the Tillie Halloween special and Pucky's Purrfect Christmas Tips. Both show Georgia's great story telling and will make you laugh and cry. You also get your first look at another fan favorite, Our IX Lives the soap opera that some of the cats and mice watch. This book also contains some more paper dolls and instructions on painting a pet rock. There is also a handy guide to the Big Pink House and within the Christmas special a very helpful graphic for those who have a hard time keeping the Robber Mice apart. I recommend this book for cat lovers of all ages, and even if you are a dog person you might find yourself laughing as you read about the BCN crew's adventures.

Middle grade comic. I enjoyed Lupin Leaps In so I was looking forward to reading more from Breaking Cat News. This was originally a webcomic, so there is not one narrative that flows through the book but rather many different comics. The author has a great imagination for what goes through the mind of cats.

The three cats tell the news of what's going on with the people. Cats from upstairs and a neighboring farm make guest appearances. Overall the book is pretty humorous, but there is one section that might upset some readers-- the owners discover a past accident at their home and suspect that the cats are seeing ghosts.

Cats offer up a TV broadcast to a cat audience on happenings in the human household (a woman, a man and their baby) in this humorous graphic novel. Reporting on the advent of bacon on the kitchen table, what happens when humans leave the room, the appearance of a ghost cat, and Tommy, a new cat in the neighborhood are among the events deemed newsworthy by Lupin, Elvis and Puck. Watercolor art, which gives the cats great emotional depth, with hand lettered text makes this feel like the cats rule the roost. It’s as if cats really are watching us!

Both cats and humans have blank pupil-less eyes, which I found off-putting.

Tommy introduces more cats to the group. Tommy shares his house with Sophie, a beautiful smart cat who doesn't care for him. Burt is a barn cat who has friends among the farm animals. He's also an AV cat who introduces video to the broadcasts. There's also a ghost cat in the house, whom only Puck can see. The woman and the ceiling woman research the history of the house. The baby from the previous adventures is now a toddler and there's another baby. The mice kidnap Buzzy Mouse and hold him for ransom.
fuzzy blanket season, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's.
The cats both do and don't behave like regular cats. After all, my cats don't report on the news (that I know of).
Great fun.

I received this copy of Take It Away, Tommy! from Andrews McMeel Publishing as the result of a giveaway. The opinions in this review are mine alone.

I gave this book a 3/5 stars due to the randomness of it. It jumped from one thing to the next. It had no flow. It was choppy for lack of a better word. I personally didn't care for the "story" as it was written. Neither did my grandsons, one who prefers to read this type of book (just didn't like this one).

We all agreed that the illustrations were great. So there's that.

Book 3 in the Breaking Cat News series features Lupin, Elvis, Puck, Tommy, and other "news repurrtors" as they explore barn cats, babysitters, ghosts, holidays, and soap operas. This is wonderful, funny, and charming as always and I highly recommend it to anyone who is curious about what it is cats get up to when we're not looking.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated in any other fashion for the review and the opinions reflected below are entirely my own. Special thanks to the publisher and author for providing the copy.

This was an engaging and enjoyable graphic novel collection by several artists that covers some of the backstories of characters from the Labyrinth universe. Sir Didymus, Hoggle, a random outcast of a goblin, and the fallout from the mirrors shattering at Jareth's masquerade ball, these are four self-contained stories that are quick to digest with varying engaging art styles and storytelling structures. A beautiful collection that was fun to read - and I understand the other collection is Jareth's backstory, so I will be checking that out as well... Not something I would go out and buy, but an enjoyable couple hours jumping back into the universe.

The Breaking Cat News team is at it again!

I love the sections that provide a cat perspective on everyday life. "Vacuum Cleaner Preparednes." What to do (more like what NOT to do, I guess) when a cactus comes to live in the home. Cats & Christmas trees.

And, this book did send me down a rabbit hole looking up videos of cats and cucumbers. There's a reason the internet is full of cat videos.

A cute book, and a great one for cat lovers.

Book number three from Georgia Dunn does not disappoint. This adds Baba Mouse, the Robber Mice, Tillie and Freddie, and Burt; dear, sweet Burt. The story of Tillie and Freddie is a tear-jerker and that, alone, should make you want to read this. If you're familiar with the daily comic, you need this and the other two previous books, on your shelf. If you like cats, you need this on your shelf. Now to wait for book four and the introduction of Beatrix and Goldie.

I freaking love everything Georgia Dunn does! This is such a clever concept. I don't know if my favorite segment was the ghost cat, robbers or the Soap Opera. (Can't wait to see the rest of that soap opera!)

Impatiently waiting for the next book! ❤
