A haunting short story told like a fable. The metaphor of toxic family members may resonate with some readers, and the literal fog of depression can be negative and cruel indeed. This tale reads quickly with expert prose. Recommended for aficionados of literary horror and classic fantasy.

A short story about the effect of negativity on a small and struggling family. Without his stolen voice, the son cannot sing and thrive. He pursues an adventure of his own and finds some much needed answers in a world of greed and lies. This fable-like story is both distressing yet uplifting.

What an odd little tale, a story of dark thoughts and the effect those dark thoughts can have on those around you, all told in the style of a fable. The issue with a short story is the author needs to grab you quickly otherwise it will have ended before you get a chance to fall for the characters or get involved in the story, Stark does a grand job of getting your attention on the first page.
