An introduction to deserts, how animals survive in these harsh climates, and that deserts don't have to be hot.
This book is pretty short, but it introduces deserts in the Americas, Africa, and Asia. It talks about both hot and cold climates, and gives examples of how living things can survive in deserts with a variety of animals and one plant (saguaro cactus). The photos are fantastic, and this is a sufficient intro to deserts for young children.
