This was such a fun read! It is great for dog lovers, and I even learned quite a bit about borzoi, a breed I knew little about before.

Follow the lives of Gracie and two of her pups, Carnegie and Madison as they live the pampered life of show dogs, until Carnegie and Madison decide to go on an adventure on their own! It's entertaining to see the world from the point of view of dogs, and you can tell the author put a lot of thought into their personalities, like the fact that Carnegie called wolves "woofs"; I thought that was a particularly cute detail.

Definitely recommend for a summer read, fun and entertaining throughout!

A few people are clever enough to speak "dog." For those of us who can't, Long Nose Legacy: A Dog's Story of Royalty and Loyalty provides delightful insights into the mysterious world of what dogs really think about their so-called "owners."

This witty, whimsical, and informative book narrates the saga of a pair of home-bred Borzoi sisters, Carnegie and Madison, real Russian Wolfhounds who lived across the street from me. In a canine equivalent of Roots, the heroine, Carnegie, takes off on a journey to experience her Imperial Russian heritage, while Madison stays behind to become a prize-winning show dog. On their respective odysseys, their antics and tribulations teach us everything from the history and training of Russian Wolfhounds, dog show protocols, the ruses dogs use to manipulate their owners (my favorite was The Ray, that piercing accusatory glance that dog owners know only too well), and the kinds of good and bad people one encounters in life. Ever wondered what's on your dog's mind? Here you go!

This remarkable story will warm the hearts of everyone who cherishes that ineffable bond with their animals, and it will make riveting bedtime reading for children. Who could not love this poignant and affecting tale?

This is a beautifully written story of two very different Russian Wolfhound (Borzoi) sisters, their misadventures and the characters they meet along the way. Having recently lost Chloe, a haughty, loving and fearless Shih Tzu who was my companion for nearly nineteen years, I found a special affinity for snobby Carnegie, who is in search of the aristocratic life her lineage deserves and loyal Madison, who shows us that unconditional love is the one true treasure we all deserve. J.G. Eastman is a gifted, intuitive author, who obviously knows and loves Borzoi and all dogs. This is seen through the imaginative personalities given to the animals and the people that come into their lives. This book was written for middle school children, but it’s a captivating story for all ages. I believe an adult and child would enjoy reading and discussing this story together as it has an essential message for all of us.
