I love a good whodunnit, and Judy Moore is proving to be a master of it. Somebody in the Neighborhood tells the story of a young woman who moves into her aunts's house after she is murdered. As the she gets to know her new neighbors, she begins to suspect the wrong person was arrested. Every character has a secret, exposing her to new twists and turns that kept me guessing, the perfect formula for an unraveling mystery. Who can Dawn trust, if anyone? This is the third book I've read by Moore, ...more

Somebody in the Neighborhood
By: Judy Moore
5 out of 5 stars

The story Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore is a thrilling/mystery book. It is a story that pulled me in and had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The author creates an atmosphere of suspense that will stay with you the entire story. I enjoyed both the storyline and reading about the character of Dawn Anderson. She is a young woman who has come to live at Manatee Beach after her aunt is murdered.

I loved this story on so many levels! It captured my attention from the very first page and held it until the end.

After Dawn’s aunt gets murdered in Florida, Dawn leaves a job that she adores, but detests her boss who has crossed the line more times then she wants to admit. Against her parent’s wishes, she moves to Manatee Beach into her late aunt’s beach house. Despite her mom, who is dead set against her leaving Ohio with a murderer on the loose, Dawn is determined to start over. She’s

Somebody In The Neighborhood offers everything Judy Moore is known for and more. The pacing, the twists and turns, surprises, and great character development. This book had me from the very first page when Dawn, our heroine, sees a police picture of her beloved aunt's body after it spent days in the Atlantic. To compensate for the loss – and to get a fresh start – she leaves the safety of her Ohio hometown and sets up housekeeping in her late aunt’s

Contemporary story with many twists
The story unfolds in a mildly dysfunctional older South Florida neighborhood, where every neighbor is perceived to have a character flaw, which drives the plot, and keeps the reader guessing.
The strong storyline and complex characters fueled my interest and curiosity, as I read the book in two sittings.
A fan of the TV series Bosch, I kept thinking how the story would easily fit one or more Bosch episodes. Everyone is suspect. Everyone harbors a secret.

This is a page turner, who done it kind of story. It is a well developed story that I read in one sitting. It is engaging and the characters made the story realistic. I enjoyed how the characters are connectable, relateable and watching the growth of the story. You have three murders, who will be next is anyone’s guess. When I thought I had it figured out, another twist was added to the plot. I highly recommend this suspense, mystery story and find out for yourself who is the murderer.

All is well in the neighborhood?? A very good "Who Done It" mystery with other twists & turns!

I loved how the the author was able to keep the reader's interest in wanting to know what could possibly happen next to this young woman. I could really relate to the music, clothes, the VW, the "bad bosses", the struggles of a single woman, etc. Three murders on..
