A Minute in the Church: Life in Christ is the fourth book in the A Minute in the Church series. It is designed to introduce the reader to some of the beautiful practices, forms of prayer and devotion in the Catholic faith.
If you have any questions relating to the Catholic Church, Gus Lloyd is the man to turn to. He wrote these small books that contain a wealth of info, as they say good things come in small packages and these little gems are a testament to that. There are I believe 5 of these books, each one addressing different aspects of the Church, this one focuses on the practices and devotions that Catholics participate in. It explains in one minute or less, what each is, why it's said or used, and when to say or use it. He is a genius at cutting to the chase with easy to understand language, and explanations. I love these books!
One Minutes Explanations of Catholic Practice and Devotions: a concise reference to many topics including Feast Days, Godparents, Confession, Anointing of the Sick, Canonization, Relics, Retreats, Patron Saints, Novenas, Lectio Divina, Liturgy of the Hours
I really enjoyed the more in-depth explanations to the rosary mysteries and the idea of an intentional rosary (each Hail Mary during the decades is prayed for a certain person).
A short, informative book, with each topic on a single page and arranged alphabetically. The style is engaging. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
Gus Lloyd covers many topics to help us find out way to GOD. He touches on topics that can be found in the Catechism but rarely covered in the mass. Thank you for clearing up these many topics.
