Bridging the gap between information and expertise. Because of the way technology has impacted real estate sales, buyers and sellers have greater access to information and even the ability to direct the sales process. While knowing market information is helpful in real estate sales, most people still lack a key aspect: expertise. By presenting an inside view on sales, McLa

A thorough, helpful resource to have on your shelf if you are thinking of selling your home.
I received a gifted copy.
I received a gifted copy.

As a person that has had previous experience with buying and selling a home, I found myself gleaming with information that I was not aware of on how to maximize profits when buying or selling a home. I trusted that my real estate agent would have my interest in my mind, but I was very very wrong. Ignorance was really bliss but I would rather have my money in my pocket. I felt that this book was very thorough and gave me all that I needed in a very compact easy to read reference material that we

This should be required reading for anyone selling their home. I have always trusted my RE agents to guide me on the best things to replace, fix up in my home for resale. I have wasted a lot of money, suffered frustration with unrealistic offers and hated almost every minute. Seriously, selling your home is a huge thing that most of us are uneducated on the details.

Are you in the market for a new home? My fiancé and I will be looking to purchase our first home together in the next couple years, and being that we are both first time home buyers we can use all the help we can get! So I was super excited when @suzyapprovedbooktours @mangopublishing and @tracyamclaughlin sent me a copy of Real Estate Rescue!

Do you have any home renovations in the works? One of the biggest things I’ve been contemplating is built-in bookcases. I actually wanted to get my husband to start this project ever since we moved in but as soon as I got him to agree to it, I started second guessing the move. I don’t *think* we’ll be buying another house because I truly love our home but you can’t predict life. So, I started thinking about resale value and began doing some research online. That was a huge rabbit hole! Luckily,

Tracy McLaughlin is a very successful real estate agent in Marin County CA, selling multi million dollar houses all the time. She shares her knowledge on how to not leave money on the table when you buy or sell a house. She shares tips on how to find the best agent and what things take a mediocre house to the next level. Speaking of next level, while I thought the information was great, it's a hard sell for me to believe that spending the kind of money she's talking about will work on my little

WOW! Another non fiction book that I can say was really good! Tracy McLaughlin has created a wonderful read that will be beneficial to anyone who is thinking about, or who is ready to, sell their home. It’s really interesting!

The book is intended to create disruption in an industry that has never had true regulation. Agents are basically in the money management business, and yet we are not held to the same standards as stockbrokers, money managers, managers of funds, etc. All of those other industries require art least 4 year degrees (most have also attended graduate school) and then are required to pass tests like the Series 7 and other rigorous exams to work in their fields. They then have constant checks and balan

I admit I thought a book about real estate might be a dry read, but I also admit that I was wrong! This is a book I wish I had found years ago.
Tracy Mclaughlin is a real estate professional as well, as a very talented writer, and I was drawn in from page one. Using a combination of her years of experience and research from many academic fields, Mclaughlin teaches the reader what a good real estate agent should be doing for them, how to try to avoid losing money in buying or selling a home, and c ...more

This is the first book I've ever read on real estate as I always thought my agent knew everything that was needed to know. This book is very informative for any one selling or buying a home. It is explained in such a way that it is very easy to understand and can be very useful for any buyer, seller and the agent. As my husband and I are currently in the market to buy our next home and sell our current home, this book gave me a lot to think about. Including how knowledgeable, or not our agent is

I agree with the other reviewers comments that it is a useful guide for buyers and sellers, easy to understand, and has some nice before & after color illustrations. Her predictions about the future of her industry and the impact of technology are interesting, too. Something nobody has mentioned, however, is that McLaughlin sells multi-million dollar homes and the prepping for sale she recommends often runs $250K and up! She is one of the top realtors in the country. Owners of more modest homes

In REAL ESTATE RESCUE, Tracy McLaughlin shares her considerable experience in real estate with straight talk and clear examples (with great photographs) to illuminate the confusing and confounding experience. For newbies and experienced hands, her work is comprehensive, essential, and powerful information delivered with flair and humor. I’ve bought properties in the past, and never gave a thought to some of the points brought up in this book. It should be on the for anyone considering buying or selling, especially those considering flipping. Divided into chapters with specific purposes, the points addressed could make a difference in how much you pay or sell for.

Sellers guide on how to efficiently list your home on the market. Discusses detaching emotions, determining selling price, updating & staging, finding the right agent, etc. Not much information for home buyers. This book is up to date and includes before and after images.

Nice book with lots of tips of how to make your house look and feel better before selling it. There are before and after photos showing what you can do to make your house stand out. Lots of useful informations. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

This is one of those books that everyone should read. It was a quick read that was easy to understand and jam packed with "insider" information about the real estate industry. Even if you are not buying or selling a home today, this is still a fascinating look at some of the mistakes people make. The author is clearly very experienced and shares story after story of families who were taken advantage of, hired clueless agents and basically threw money away.

It may sound crazy but if my husband and I are bored, we sometimes go to open houses. You go in, and you can see how other people live. How do they decorate their spaces? Can I get any ideas for my home? It’s like looking at Better Homes and Gardens in real life! Of course you can get into trouble and right away start envisioning yourself cooking in their kitchen or watching tv in their family room!
