“Please don’t let go. I don’t ever want you to let go.”

This was such a cute and heartwarming read.
She was his and he was hers against all odds and at all cost.
Alessia, a headstrong heroine who escapes her abusive household and is determined to make it on her own,
Jax, an ex-military loner guy who wants a quiet and peaceful life.

The moment he met Alessia, his "peaceful life” had been turned on its side. There was no going back now and there certainly weren’t goi

Yay! I'm happy to report that my year in books is starting off on a very positive note. New-to-me author Katerina Winters delivered a page-turner!

Plot in a nutshell : In an attempt to escape an abusive homelife, Alessia has been camping out in the Oregon wilderness. Unfortunately the spot she's chosen is on a very reclusive man's land . . . and Jax wants her gone.

So I was a little iffy at the start of the story until I realized t

Who knew that there was such a thing as in insta-love-slow-burn romance!? That is exactly what Katerina Winters delivers with this mountain man romance!

Alessia is on the run from her past and finds herself in, what she thinks, a unclaimed wooded area in Oregon. One day, she leaves her campsite to returns to a large burly man lurking around. Scared, s

I had never heard of this author before and picked this up on impulse .....turned out well...I liked the story and I warmed up to the writing and the characters the further I read. 😊

I’m going to get right to the point in this review. I liked some things. I hated some things. I’m about to share some major spoilers. You’ve been warned.

First, I’m going to start with the “thing” I liked. There was really good sexual tension between Jax and Alessia. The very slow burn kind where things start then stop then take two steps back before they start again. And that sums up what I liked about this book.

Next, time for the bad. And it starts off bad from the very beginning. Alessia fle

In an attempt to escape an abusive home life that is getting worse and worse, Alessia Conners ran and is now camping out in the Oregon wilderness, trying to avoid her mum's creepy and dangerous boyfriend from finding her again and dragging her into what would be hell. Unfortunately the spot she's chosen to camp on is on/by the land owned by grumpy and reclusive Jax Beranek and he wants her gone asap.

I was surprised at the lack of action in this but found myself engaged and wanting to learn more
Alessia is on the run from an abusive man.
She finds refuge in deep woods where she meets Jax, a recluse.

While I enjoyed this, it didn't really move me. The beginning was great. But then it started getting slow. Katerina Winters is a go to author. So I’m not disappointed. Though I expected more.

Probably my favorite book by Katerina Winters. A grumpy mountain man who only wants to be left alone & a runaway girl trying to survive.

Hot hot hot. The hint of danger made it all the better.

Recommends it for: people who want an Alpha to protect them.

This book not only was this an emotional journey that focused on Alessia but how she is coping with it, as well as her developing feelings for Jax and the evolving story. While Jax has his set of problems, he loves that he finally has someone who has made his cabin welcoming. Although he did save Alessia from the wild, he starts to have feelings for her and at the same time is trying not to oversteps because of her triggers. Although Jax starts to have feelings for her, his behavior is

This was a solid work. Alessia and Jax were so good for each other. After being abused by her mother's boyfriend, Alessia goes on the run. Jax finds her camping on his property. From there, the characters slowly begin to adjust to one another. Shockingly, the action wasn't as strong as I thought. A lot of authors would have added drama. Winters worked on the depth and healing of both main characters. Then, she added a resolution. I really liked this one.

Never got a chance to review this last night while I crashed as soon as the book ended- cuz I’d been reading it without stopping.

Surprisingly almost 5 star read from a new author I tried! Alessia is running away from her mom’s bf who tried to feel her up enough times in their trailer park single wide. She’s poor but she’s been preparing for this trip for a while. She has every imaginable techie gadget when she finally lets out camp in the middle of nowhere in some Oregon wilderness.

She has eno

So this I don't know where to start, there is a lot to unpack here. First of all, I wasn't one hundred percent clear on the ages between the characters until much later in the book. I DO NOT want to read adult romances where one of the characters in underage, but it was not clear in this book at all since the heroine had runaway from home. Much later in the book, it mentions she had "morning classes" so I thought, "

A Mountain Man Romance

Jax sees her and is intrigued then rather dismayed to find her settling in on his property. He knows that will NOT do and has a plan to move her on her way...although...the plan does NOT work out as he thought it would. Nope, Alessia tugs at a part of him he thought was frozen or perhaps destroyed by the anger that has been with him for so long. Alessia finds security when near Jax but also fears the brooding darkness that appears fr

Didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it.
This one wasn’t good, but it wasn’t bad either.

Jax and Alessia will have you glued to the pages of this story. Alessia has finally had enough of her dysfunctional family and left knowing that Gary would probably be on her tail soon. Jax noticed Alessia when she was sitting in the diner he never expected that she would take residence up in the woods around his home. Taking matters into his own hands, Jax abducts Alessia from the woods and places her into his home setting up the life altering changes for the both of them. They crave a longing ...more

At All Cost is a good romantic suspense story.

The characters are well developed and intelligent. The storyline is well written and intriguing, with a woman on the run, a man who just wants to be alone, and a shocking ending.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

This is my first read from this author and I kinda feel like I read a totally different book from everyone else. I'm not really sure where to start but I can say I didn't love it. One thing that really bugged me is that the ages of the characters is never really clear. I get the impression that the h is young, which is ok with me, but how young are we talking here? It's almost written as if there's some sort of taboo element but I never really could figure it out. I don't know, it was just all o ...more

At All Cost was my first read from this author and I was excited to try something new and I thought the blurb sounded interesting.

The book started off interesting, but I found that I couldn't really connect with the characters much. I understood the reasoning for Alessia's running away from home, and I could see the appeal of Jax's solitary lifetsyle in the woods, but I didn't understand them all. I just didn't feel their chemistry or connection. It just wasn't there for me. In ad

I enjoyed this story a lot. While I wish it was a bit hotter on the steam scale, I really liked the uniqueness of it and the characters were great together. The hero was very grumpy and yet protective toward the heroine.

Katerina Winters is a new to me author, but when I saw this book took place in Oregon and had a burly mountain man I just knew I needed to read it. I devoured this book. I really couldn’t put it down. I loved Jax and all his broodiness. I loved Alessia for getting out of her situation, for trying to find a better life for herself.

This was a SLOW BURN and at times I found myself yelling at my kindle just telling them to give in to each other. The tension was so strong. I was getting frustrated w

Alessia and Jax are both alone in the woods for different reasons, but it seems like they were meant to find one another. Alessia is running from an abusive situation. Jax is withdrawing from the world after withdrawing from the military.

Jax helps Alessia, even when his better judgment tells him not to. They are both quickly attracted to each other and find a home within the other person. I liked Alessia's resilience and sassiness. She was truly someone you could see as a good friend. Jax seems

This is a slow burn romance. They started out a sort of enemies. She was trespassing on his property, but he knew she was unsafe out in the woods alone, so took it upon himself to keep her safe. Even if she was driving him crazy with her smart mouth and stubbornness. His character is a bit of a hermit. Living on his own out in the woods. You can tell he has some secrets but they aren't mentioned until near the end of the book. He character is on the run for her life. While she comes across as sm ...more

A sexy slow burn!

Thank you Netgalley for sending this book for me to read/review. The description of the book appealed to me because I love stories about off-grid and socially isolated men. This story did not disappoint! I really liked the chemistry between the two characters Jax and Alessia. Jax is an alpha type but he is very caring, patient, and tender which are traits you don't often see with alpha males in stories. Alessia is also not the stupid girl that does what she is told but she also

**I received a copy of At All Cost from Net Galley and the author in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinion wasn't solicited in any way.**

At All Cost by Katerina Winters is an author I haven't read before and because the description intrigued me. However, I agree with other reviews the abrupt ending left me with a lot of questions because of this. I loved the strong alpha with his protective instincts and when he was cuddling Whiskers the cat melted my heart. Give me a slow burn
