All I’ve ever wanted was to marry for love.
But girls like me don’t have that luxury.
We are used as pawns in a game we can’t control.
The game? It’s called Mafia.
I was foolish enough to try to change the rules… and I lost.

She was promised to me years ago.
And he dared to take her from me.
Dared to touch what was mine.
I put an end to that.
I hope he’s enjoying the

WAITING FOR MY QUEEN: Is a full length mafia romance novel by Georgia Cates. In this we meet Emilia Bellini & Luca Rossini.

Note from the author concerning our hero: “Luca Rossini is very hatable, but I ask you to give him time before you decide that he’s unredeemable. He just might surprise you.”

Going into this one I expected to hate Luca, but that never really occurred, I kind of liked him from the get go. He is what you expect to encounter within a mafia novel, the shoot first ask

It’s been a while since I’ve read a Georgia Cate‘s book. I was excited when I heard this book was mafia related. While this book was suppose to be a dark mafia romance, I found that it was only slightly dark.

This is an arranged marriage/enemies to lovers story. Emilia Belinni wants to marry for love and not because of an arrangement made by her grandfather. Luca Rossini wants what was promised to him no matter what, even at the despair of Emilia. I will say that the beginning was

The author warns that Luca is an a-hole. That is correct. He starts off as a huge one. He wants what he wants and he does everything necessary to get it. He wants Emilia. He doesn't care about what she wants. He wants her and he makes the moves necessary to get her. Even if that means she hates him for it.

The author also warns that you will hate Luca. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I never hated him. Did he annoy, aggravate, frustrate and irritate me? Most definitely. He does some

This book clicked all of my five star boxes and then some. I loved it! Georgia did an incredible job with Luca and Emilia. Lots of tension and grit. Just when I thought there was absolutely NO WAY Luca could be redeemable, man oh man. He did and then some. And I didn't even fathom the possibility of that happening. Great read and

At least Luca has a conscience about some things, “she’s going to be my wife. I’m not discussing what we do in the bedroom with any of you effs.” The man is a possessive one, " won’t be. I’ll never allow you to be with someone else . I’ll kill any man who touches you.” I liked this book, I actually fell in love with Luca but getting to fall in love with was a journey of lots of ups and downs.

Another brilliant story from an incredible Author. I consumed every word in this story and couldn’t get enough. This book has it all: mafia, suspense, arranged marriage, alpha hole, possessiveness, survival. I absolutely loved this story and will be re-reading it again very soon!

This beautifully chaotic book has taken me on a ride. A ride that has me feeling exhilarated and emotionally exhausted at the same time. Time stood still and when I emerged from my reading cocoon, I realized hours have past. It's past my bed time–in my part of the world–and I can't sleep after reading this.

Emilia Bellini was promised to Luca Rossini when they were children. Once she came of age, they were to be married but Emilia fell in love with another. Her betrothal to Luca was broken which

4.5 / 5 Stars Waiting for my Queen was my first read by this author and I am impressed with her superb writing skills. The story is captivating and she will take you on an epic journey that is sure to keep you entertained from beginning to end. This book has checked off all of my boxes - mafia-themed romance, imperfect anti-hero, a strong heroine, and some scorching scenes interspersed with moments of action and suspense.

I wasn’t sure about this book when I first dived into it as it is set in

Waiting for my Queen by Georgia Cates is a fast-paced Mafia read which focuses on the characters Emilia Bellini and Luca Rossini. Since birth, Emilia has been sworn to become married to Luca only it isn’t Luca that she loves. Instead she is ready to marry someone lower down in the Mafia so that he can run away. When she is granted permission from her father, she thinks nothing else will happen, but when it comes to her wedding day, things don’t go as planned and Luca wrecks devastation across ...more

Oh, Georgia! Let me grab my torchlight. When did you go so deeply into the dark?

Love and conscience have no value in the dealings and barterings of New York's elite criminal families. Thus, when Emilia Bellini chooses to marry for love instead of honouring a decades old promise made by her parents, her slighted betrothed teaches her a lesson that no one in the entire Mafia world would soon forget. Emilia responds by vowing retribution against Luca Rossini, while pretending to give him everything

I seriously love everything Georgia Cates writes. I wasn’t quite sure exactly how I would connect with this book considering it was set around the same time I was born, but it was wonderful.

Luca and Emilia were betrothed from the time they were children. Both the eldest children from powerful Mafia families it was a union which would happen whether they wanted it to or not.

Emilia is beautiful and sassy and just enough of a rebel to fight for what she really wants in her life. She doesn’t

Oooh....Georgia Cates, how I love her mafia worlds. If you loved her Sin Trilogy then you need to meet Luca Rossini. He is one Hero that you will hate but also learn to love!!

I was so nervous going into this book because I was nervous about meeting Luca Rossini. Georgia has described him as the anti-hero and I was scared I wouldn’t be able to warm up to him. I will admit….it took me some time, but I totally fell in love with Luca!!!

This is the first book that I have read by Georgia Cates and I absolutely love dark mafia romance stories and Georgia Cates did not disappoint with Waiting For My Queen. I loved that it takes place in the late 70s! Emilia is a strong female lead that doesn’t take Luca’s crap and keeps him on his toes! At first you will absolutely hate Luca and wish the most painful death upon him, but don’t lose hope he will absolutely redeem himself and you will love the alpha asshole the way that he is! Waiting For My Queen: A Dark Mafia Romance

I’m not sure where to start with this one. I’m not sure I’ve ever been so conflicted about a book and writing the review. At the beginning of the book there’s an author note, and in it, the author asks the reader to give, Luca, the hero, a chance at redemption. That left me kinda leery. I wasn’t sure what I was walking into. Was it cheating? Because that is an automatic DNF for me. I

This is the first book I've read by this author, and even I saw her promote this mafia, arranged- marriage book I was over the moon!! Two of my favorite tropes put together? I couldn't get this has but soon enough!!

We have Emilia, who is a mafia princess and is to be married off to a man she does not know or love. All she wants in life is to marry purely because of love, affection, respect and trust and she has found that in her childhood friend. She begs her father (he and the other family

Waiting For My Queen was different from what I was anticipating but still did not disappoint. I definitely wouldn't classify this as a dark mafia romance but more along the lines of just a mafia romance.

Luca and Emilia's story is one of a typical Italian mafia set back in the late 70's and early 80's. It was definitely unique as most mafia stories that I have read are set in today's society with all the high-tech gadgets and amazing firearms. I enjoyed the change in scenery and being taken back

Waiting for My Queen by Georgia Cates is a sweeter Mafia Romance. After reading the synopsis, I expected it to be much darker and have more grit. It started off like a true dark mafia book filled with testosterone, power and a whole lot of deaths! Then somewhere long the line it became sweet and endearing. Which I honestly did not mind. I actually loved it. I just wish the change happened more gradually. After some horrible events that transpired, the quick change of heart was hard to

While Waiting for my Queen claimed to be a dark mafia romance, I would classified it as just a tiny bit dark according to my scale. There were a massacre, revenge plotting, drugs and dubcon sex, but the story focused more on the enemies-to-lover arranged marriage romance between Emilia and Luca and less on the mafia lifestyle.

Luca was the epitome of an alpha-hole. He was ruthless and would literally kill to get what he wanted and deemed as his. He was arrogant and frustrating and I didn’t like

Here we go then..

Right from the start, the moment I read about the anti hero..I was in because I have a wrecked soul, I am a sucker for that stuff in my stories and I know I am not the only wrecked soul who feels that way, right ladies..

Let's just say Luca will not be an easy one to bear.. At all..

But did that stop me or deter me from reading this one till the end.. Heck to the no.. Because the aforementioned soul cannot be redeemed.

Wow! What a ride for Emilia Bellini and Luca Rossini. When Luca wants something he says he will get it and he doesn’t lie. He wanted Emilia, come hell or high water so pursued her and wrangled it until he had a plan in place.

I have to say Luca is one of those bad boy alphas that you can’t help but like, not necessarily everything he does, but the essence of him. Was he a beautiful monster? That’s up to everyone to decide. Likewise, Emilia is a character I enjoyed and liked. She had a sassy mouth

Waiting for My Queen is an old school, New York mafia story, circa late 1970’s. Disco, cocaine and arranged marriages are the norm. But what happens when you try to change the rules? Consequences are felt deep and wide. In the author’s note Georgia Cates asks that we give Luca Rossini, the antihero, time before we decide that he’s unredeemable. By chapter four I wasn’t sure that it would be possible.

I never wanted money or power. Love and happiness have been my only true desires in life.

Really early in my read of Waiting for my Queen, I didn’t know if I would enjoyed it. Let’s just say that Luca Rossini is a difficult hero to love at first. I love villain / anti-hero, but this man certainly takes it to an unforgivable level with his cruel actions. Throughout my read though, it was obvious that Luca slowly was stealing my heart. Georgia Cates created a mafia world set in the late 70’s that had me ultimately obsessed!

Not a Good Start for me, but a Great Finish

Georgia Cates gives her readers a mafia romance with some nice touches of her own. I wasn't sure about the book for the first few chapters, however it ended up really growing on me.

"I'll be going to war. And my marriage will be the battlefield."

Welcome to life as a young woman in the mafia. You want for nothing, yet can do nothing for yourself, which is exactly where Emilia Bellini finds herself. Stuck. While she may have lost big in the beginning, our

Mafia is my favorite sub-genre. It is for that reason that I am VERY picky. It has to be done right and feel authentic. This book definitely did that for me. It had all the qualities that I look for; a plausible story, great characters, authentic portrayal, steam, and an alpha strong man that knows how to show his softer side.

I was worried when this book started how the author would manage to make Luca, the Hero, redeemable. Especially, with HOW this relationship came to be. I am not
