Only a fool crosses the King of Hell.

It was a simple job. All I had to do was hunt down Aspen Caligari and bring her back to Lucifer. Considering the problems she’s caused my pack, I eagerly accepted that assignment. No one messes with my pack and gets away with it.

Tracking Aspen down was the easy part. It was only after I found her and recognized her as my mate that everything got complicated. I couldn’t very well turn my mate over to the King of Hell, now could I? My job is now anything but simple. I need to help my mate hunt down an elitist witch group, make Lucifer believe Aspen isn’t a threat to anyone he cares about, and convince the stubborn little witch we belong together.

It’s a good thing I’m on optimist since even I’m not sure how I’m going to pull this off.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

A SPELLBINDING, SIZZLING WITH DELICIOUS HEAT, AND A IRRESISTIBLE PNR THAT SWEPT ME OFF MY FEET AND HAD ME HOOKED!

Cassandra Lawson's newest Spells That Bind novel was a whole lot of fun and sexy to boot. Aspen and Will had some strong sexual chemistry that made me yearn and burn in the best of ways. The way the story is written made it easy to follow and was entertaining too. I loved the plot and how everything came together and these characters just keep getting better and better! I enjoyed watching Will seduce and charm Aspen. This is romance at its best!

All Will had to do was find shapeshifter witch Aspen Caligar for the King of Hell Lucifer and bring her back and as she caused many problems for his pack too he was keen to accept the assignment. However, having found her everything changes completely when he realises she is actually his mate and so cannot hand her over. Somehow he needs to persuade Lucifer that Aspen is not a threat, he needs to help her hunt down the elitist witch group that are targetting members of the community whilst persuading the stubborn witch that they belong together. Can he pull it off?

I loved this story which brought together the characters from the Hellbound series of books and it gave Will someone to be happy with. I loved the story with its different strands of the story (appeasing Lucifer, finding the cult and getting Aspen to recognise they were mates) and how they were woven together in increasingly complex patterns. Well written and very hard to put down I loved this story.

Cassandra Lawson always creates likable, relatable characters and compelling plots. I particularly love this series because I find it ridiculous whenever Lucifer is presented as a lovable rogue. He's the epitome of evil with a soft, gooey center. All of the characters quake when Lucifer arrives, but the reader sees him as fairly harmless.

This book is about Aspen and Will and the development of their relationship is realistic and charming. Supporting characters have been introduced in previous stories so there's a sense of "I know these people." It's a fun story and I highly recommend the series.

Will is a werewolf employed by Lucifer to capture the witch/shapeshifter who kidnapped Bryn. When he finds her, he discovers she is his mate. Instead of turning her in he decides to help her take down the corrupted Society of the Sacred Well. A well-written paranormal romance I have come to expect and love from Cassandra Lawson!
