I like the underlying storyline but there is just too much sex. I think this has the potential to be a great series if the author would dial back all the sex a little bit. There is hardly any character interaction without sex or sexual thoughts interfering. This annoys me....🤬
I do suppose I am a glutton for punishment and will continue the series.

Well, this book had everything the first one had and lacked. Like sex. And more sex. And coming. And sex. Did I mention the sex? He also had to sleep in between having it out with every one of his guys. He had a really full schedule with all that making one decision every single day, like a king, you know.
Totally benefited all those people he eventually, regrettably, got killed since they didn't accept him as a king. Very good person. Totally would vote for him. Wait, there's no voting. You can leave your life/house or you can swear loyalty. Or be randomly chosen to serve him and be a new, suddenly incredibly loyal person to the king. In a totally believable manner. Because you're so great some people now love you after meeting you

And the "plot," thickens!
I didn't believe it, but it's true. More relationship building. The world is opening up. There is a conspiracy. I even found a perfect quote:
Tito " I burnt a guy's face off..."
Libby " ...If you didn't do it. I could have easily cut his head off! This way he gets to live."
I am enamored with this series! You just have to search through the bushes for the breaks in smexy times. There are a lot of Keepers to keep satisfied. It's a group activity. Where every member looks out for each other.

Another great book by Brea, with a big collection of great characters and a plot that you have no idea where it's leading but can't wait to find out. I seriously can't wait for book 3 to come out
Reread update: I think I enjoyed it more the second time around. The characters are piling up for sure, so I did need this reread to have them straight for book three. However, there's details I didn't pay attention the first time around, so it was fun to discover them with more knowledge on my belt.

Ah, the first DNF of 2020 (at 27.4%, not that it matters). The most positive thing I can say about the plot at this point is that it reflects a sad truth of life - victims of bullying sometimes turn into bullies themselves the minute they achieve a position of power, and they justify this behavior as "self defense". However, mature adults are supposed to develop ways to answer challenges on their authority and/or deal with criticism without resorting to threats or violence, no matter how nasty or unfair the criticism is. The Edoli might respect nothing but brutality, but this medieval altitude does not impress me as a modern reader and it does not make me want to read further. Bullies are still bullies, and I'd rather read about the relationships of non-bullies.

Just like book one, I would consider this one rough around the edges... There were many editing issues and it felt like more sex was piled on to coverup the lack of actual plot...
That being said it was still an enjoyable read, I just felt like it could have been immensely better.

These books aren't bad.
The story moves very slowly what with the stopping everything to have group sex every 5 minutes as one does . Having said that, it is interesting. But talk about slow reveal. Which annoys me as the world is so interesting.
By the beginning of book 3 it has only been 3 or 4 days.

Had potential but just fell hard
I read the first book and I liked it. It had so much potential but now after reading the second book I’m not so sure myself anymore. I don’t like how this second book is mostly just about sex and nothing really deeply emotionally connecting. Like I mean this whole book we’ve learned nothing and I mean nothing I’m any of Tito’s edolis past. The author keeps adding more characters in but at the same time she doesn’t connect any of the characters already in the book. I’m all for multiple love relationships but it really sucks when you only concentrate on Titos, Seth, and mazki. I’ve yet in 2 books really read anything with Titos and adom sharing any special bond considering adom has self control and in book 1 Titos said he wants to break that and yet nothing in book 2 about it.
Seth is such a strange character I mean in book 1 he has this whole devotion to Titos and then all of a sudden in book 1 he’s ok with sleeping with mazki yet they bump heads a lot. Then now in book 2 he is ok with sleeping with kail but yet they literally shared no dialogue together with no connection as to why. There just so much missing
Mazki has more development attachment to Seth and kail than he does with Titos but yet claims to love Titos more than anyone else.
Kail is such a strange one since they’re all connected together they should I guess love one another yet in this book the author doesn’t say why kail is jealous of is bitter towards Alfrick. Kail and Adom have zero chemistry.
Adom is the authors least favorite I know that for sure cause he gets the least amount of time with Titos and lease amount of time story in the book. All you read from him is he’s in the office going over paper. I mean the whole book he’s just doing that.
Alfrick is the newest member of the group not much is said about him but I mean we now know more about him than any of the other characters. Like how he was suppose to be promised to another. Like we know nothing of Seths past and Mazki as well.
Titos is the most confusing character because as you read the first few pages when he becomes intimate with Kail for the first time and Mazki kisses Kails neck Titos gets all crazy and possessive claiming Kail is his and then Mazki gets all sad.
Point being if your gonna write a book about multiple lovers please shine some light onto everyone and not have favorites or else the whole dynamic just doesn’t work.
Titos and Seth would’ve been good just by themselves since most of the scenes are of both of them but with how the author wrote Seth it just didn’t make any sense since wolves are possessive and don’t share their love or affection to anyone else but their mate. Kail, Alfrick, and Mazki could’ve been a 3 man relationship with their interaction and dynamic because both Alfrick and Mazki are fire and hold lust towards one another and Kail is jealous of Alfrick which could potentially of had lead to the 3 of them being together. That means Adom literally served no purpose in this whole book or story even cause we’ve read nothing about him other than he’s good with reading papers.
I don’t think I’ll read the next book if one does come out because there really is no storyline and all characters are very vague and you don’t know anything important about them to make you like them.

My sleep deprived rant.
So I wanted to like this and it's only 3 stars because I like the premise and I kept reading it and will keep reading, but there was a lot I didn't like. The copious amounts of sex aside Titos is supposed to be different from other kings and queens the "good guy" but he isn't. He's a straight up villan, and I have 0 issues with villans but not when they are made out to be the good guy.
He goes to his birthright, intimidates a servant for seeing his keepers naked on accident, ignores the protests of the ppl living peacefully there that dont want a king because of the issues it will bring, is ok with them getting killed and also burns a man's face for talking about a relative Titos had killed. All of his keepers along side his guard are ready to maim and kill and it's supposed to be a good thing...
Also he is so dumb, instead of settling in and making nice with the ppl there he goes scorched earth and makes enemy after enemy. Maybe he is too cum drunk to make rational decisions.

I like the storyline, but you stumble from one sex scene to the next. They're great, all nice and all, but there needs to be a little more depth to the plot. I think this has the potential to be a great series …

Our futures
I really enjoy harem and dark romances and when you combine the two, I’m all in. I don’t envy Titos the uphill battle he has to protect his kingdom but I know he’ll be succeed as he’s not alone. I do envy Titos for his sexy keepers, who happily for me keep growing. Lots of action, excitement and change is afoot and I look forward to more in this world.

Good but short
I enjoy this series and really love Titos, but this book was far too short for my taste, I want more! I also wish that more development happened with Titos establishing his territory, but the book was mainly filled with problems that kept coming up. I understand that we him being a king so suddenly and unexpectedly and with his own deprived last that everything can't just call in place, but that is a good reason for the book to be longer, so that we can actually see more progress. I really enjoyed the first book. This one not so much. I hope the next book is better. I do like the action and hope to see more of that as well.

So the book has sex, a problem, sex, some killing, sex, a visitor, sex, some killing... we find out... nothing? No questions answered. More questions raised. We go from tons of sex to tons of sex and random orgasms without good sex scenes even attached. A keeper is added. And then we end as visitors walk into the mansion, one who Tito’s feels drawn to - so not a horrible cliffhanger, but a cliffhanger.
Book 3 isn’t until June. I might continue. We’ll see. That’s a long time to wait to get no answers.

The main conflict of this book was nonsensical, the dialogue is repetitive and the plot confusing with inconsistencies. Even the sex scenes weren't well described. It felt as if too many things were trying to be forced into the story.
Not to mention there are too many similarities with Their Vampire Queen series by Joely Sue Burkhart for me to keep considering it a coincidence. I thought it was similar when I read the first book which made me excited to continue since I love that series, but is not that good at all and I'm very disappointed now.

I like this series and I would have rated this higher except there was just too many sex scenes sprinkled throughout the story. The parts in between were good but very violent. Right now I’m invested in the series and want to see where it goes. I just hope the author cuts back the sexy times in the next one but considering this a poly romance, I don’t really see that happening.

Ok so I read two of the three books to be sure but this series is almost an exact replica of their vampire queen by Joely Sue. Just less blood,gay and more condensed. I normally like Brea's books but this one is not my Jam.
I know that books can seem similar because there are only so many ways to write a story but... I read a lot of the same Genre and I've never come across two series that are like...the same like this one. So... not gonna finish this series :/

So good!
Ohh they keep getting better and better! The HFNs are killing me, but it’s sort of the nature of this kind of story. I’m glad the that author isn’t trying to shorten it all into one because there is so much going on! The story is full and rich even beyond the MCs romantic relationship. I love all the characters and the scenes with them all together are so steamy!

So good
Love love love this series. Unlike anything I have read before. Lots of different magic users and people changing into different things.
Sometimes I think... the first book had Titos all week and now he is strong. But author still shows his vulnerability and that makes the change in his demeanor ok.

Enjoying this series
This is moving along nicely! Betrayal and intrigue as the king and his keepers adjust to their ascension and building their allies. There is a lot of sex, sometimes at inopportune moments. Also a lot of dead bodies. For being new to his role, Titos is quite ruthless.

My limit for giving a shit about MCs in RH is 5 and at the end of this book we’re about to add a 6th. Also from reading other reviews there’s probably gonna be more added so I’m bowing out.

This book didn’t disappoint
I love Brea’s books they are all great and this one was just as expected. Only minor issues were with grammar and spelling, and the fact that we were left on a giant cliff hanger :). Can’t wait to see what happens next with this series.

There was a severe lack of a plot and most of the dialogue was pretty cliche. I'm not planning on continuing this series

I complained about the first one, but this takes the cake. I swear you find more plot in porn than in this book. Jesus fucking christ.
It did have an interest plot but it was so rare I ended up skim reading this shit.
