Formatting is dreadful

While the text stands as an interesting historical document, it's almost certain the publisher took a text file floating around from some book archive and turned it into an ebook with no thought to the headings and so on.

This is kind of dubious, but as a reference you get a lot of insight into the wacky world of almost a century ago. A world where everyone ate a potato a day chased with a pint of milk, and housing was 20% of the family budget and food 25%.

1937 had some progressive ideas!

This was a delight. Seeing some very progressive ideas about the worth of homemaking, the rights of workers, and more was a surprise and a pleasure.
