I was reading the blurb and it said it’s a drama novel based on real life events so I picked this book up. I will briefly summarise the blurb here. So it will be spoilers free. The opening scene of the book is Basheer waiting in a children’s hospital. It was a holy month ramdan and he was restless in his behaviour and people thought him as a mad person. Dr. Sheela was working in the same hospital. Sheela was a young and she was the precious daughter of Dr. Raj Kumar. He has some deep secret buried inside him. Read the book to know about that secret and one day Sheela got kidnapped. Read the book to unfold the suspense like what is that huge secret? Did the Sheela got kidnapped due to that?
If we talk about my opinion, I loved the plot as it is full of drama. Whenever I read any book, I expect it to be full of drama. The narration style of the author is amazing. I loved the language and vocabulary used in the book. Author has developed well suspense from beginning only. And at any point I couldn’t guess what is going to happen next. So it was really anticipating for me. The plot is filled with lots of twists and turns. Story took many unpredictable turns. Overall good one. I enjoyed reading it.

The Missed beat ⠀

⭐⭐⭐⭐⠀

As rightly put, this novel is a "fast-paced drama". It's beautifully written, great vocabulary and such a hit plot. ⠀

This story revolves around a eminent cardiologist, Dr Raj Kumar, and a dark secret that he fosters. ⠀

A dark secret never stays hidden, it comes out one way or another. And when it does everything you have built by so far is shattered. When Dr Raj Kumar's daughter is kidnapped, he is brought face to face with this past.

I really enjoyed reading this book. While I read the blurb I thought it would be like any other story, girl is kidnapped, father tried everything and series of mishaps and finally kidnapper is caught or could end the other way. But, oh man, this book is different and so bloody well written. A great book to end my November reads.

"The missed beat" by G.V. Subba Rao is a thriller, mystery fictional novel which deals with kidnapping of a renowned doctor set in banglore. The protagonist is Dr. Raj Kumar who is the founder of the Get Well Hospitals.

But he has a deep, dark secret which no one knew about. Suddenly one day her daughter, Dr. Sheela gets kidnapped. The kidnapping is a very well planned crime in exchange for money.

The book has been very well written as there are many dialogical narrations in the book, which I enjoyed reading personally. The plot is outstanding full of twists and turns.

The book starts slow in the start but once the plot gets ahead it's non-stop and you wouldn't want to keep it down till the end. Overall the story is more than just a kidnapping. It deals with past secrets and people whom Dr. Raj Kumar would never want to see again.

The Missed Beat book written by author G. V. Subba Rao is a gripping fiction.
Blurb is interesting and only mentions half/a part of plot i.e. daughter of protagonist gets kidnapped but a major portion of book is dedicated to his past skeletons, how he settles/set things right. Plot is about and revolves around protagonist Dr. Raj Kumar i.e. Dr RK. Wouldn't want to give away more about the plot to readers as it removes the thrill of reading.
What I liked about the protagonist is the way he handled things when he had high stakes to loose if things went wrong. Luckily it worked his way and plot ends in a nice way. Character Samira portrayed as very strong woman are very rear to find but rest of the characters are normal/human. Narration was good, author is successful in keeping readers glued to book till the end. Plot is engaging and entertaining with lot of twists and suspense which keep readers on their toes.

Loved/Enjoyed reading every bit of plot/book and would recommend to all fiction readers.

‘The Missed Beat’ a riveting thriller, captivates from the first page. The story follows Dr. Raj Kumar, a celebrated cardiologist, whose life takes a dark turn when his daughter, Dr. Sheela, is kidnapped. This event unravels a series of hidden secrets from Dr. Raj’s past, creating a tension-filled narrative that blends suspense with profound themes of love, sacrifice, and humanity.

The author skillfully unveils these secrets layer by layer, keeping readers engaged with a well-constructed plot and complex characters. Notably, Sister Nirmala’s altruistic actions add depth to the story, highlighting the novel’s message that true happiness and meaningful relationships are beyond the reach of wealth. This compelling drama is a must-read, delivering excitement and emotional resonance until the very last page.

‘The Missed Beat’ is a story that follows Dr. Raj Kumar the founder of Get Well Hospitals and is a very famous cardiologist with some dark secrets. Everything was going well until one day when his daughter is kidnapped. Who must have kidnapped her? What is the dark secret that our protagonist carries along with him? To know more read The Missed Beat.

My Views:

The title of the book is so well thought it will actually make the readers want to know what the book is all about. The cover page is also very attractive. The book was a bit too long but it was all the worth.

The book is written in a simple and lucid language so the readers won’t have a problem with going through the book pretty fast. The writing style of the author is such it will keep the readers intrigued till the last page.

The characters were well written. I liked the character of Dr. Raj Kumar a family centric person who loves his wife and has two daughters but he we also get to see how efficiently he handles the situation being calm and poised throughout this situation.

The plot is well written and will keep the readers on edge throughout the book. It was definitely a page turner for me wanting to know what is going to happen next. The author has done a pretty great job by keeping the suspense till the end.

Overall I liked this book and would surely recommend it to all.

"The Missed Beat" by G.K. Sunna Rao felt like a full-on Rajinikanth movie, complete with the larger-than-life protagonist who carries himself with unwavering confidence, dignity, and kindness throughout. The story kicks off with a bang when Basheer, a devout Muslim and a patient of the renowned Dr. Rajkumar, kidnaps the doctor’s daughter, demanding an unbelievably low ransom. But Basheer isn’t driven by greed—he's a desperate father trying to save his own son while honoring his Ramadan fast.

From this dramatic start, the story takes off as Dr. Rajkumar finds himself navigating through a web of intrigue and chaos. The tension builds with police investigations, family drama, and his own relentless pursuit of the truth. Unwilling to sit back and let events unfold, Dr. Raj takes matters into his own hands, determined to uncover the forces that have set his life spinning out of control.

As the plot unfolds, Dr. Raj's journey pushes him to the brink, transforming him from a respected figure into someone willing to fight on the streets, stripped of all status and comfort. His past catches up with him, forcing him to make tough decisions and redefine what truly matters to him. The story cleverly explores the idea that a mistake isn’t necessarily wrong if done with care and love—in Dr. Raj’s case, it becomes a blessing in disguise.

The twists and turns keep coming, and just when you think you have it figured out, the narrative takes another sharp turn. Dr. Raj becomes a trickster, pulling off one last maneuver to bid farewell to those who brought him down. But what is the treasure that drives him? What wealth does he seek that’s worth losing everything for?

To find out what leads the famous Dr. Raj Kumar to the streets, what treasure he's hunting, and why he becomes the trickster in his own story, dive into "The Missed Beat." It’s a thrilling, action-packed read that will keep you guessing right until the last page.

This was a complete master class Rajinikanth cinema type book.. I loved the part were entire time the protagonist carried the stature, attitude and kindness..
Now talking about the book, Basheer a patient kidnaps the daughter of the celebrity doctor in town with a very small price tag for the famous Dr. Rajkumar to pay for his daughter. Basheer was forced to do this for his son, being a strict and faithful muslim who was taking up his Ramadan fasting.
A tragic event immediately gives the story a kick start whereafter each event leads the path for Dr. Raj's destiny. After a brief drama with the enquiries with the police, wife and the father in law, Raj Kumar take things in his hand to seek the reason which puppeted the show. The final blow comes from the past, which took Raj Kumar to the next level or a complete different zone in his life, bringing him to the street and fight. A mistake is Never a mistake if you are doing it with care and love.. it called a blessing.. in his case. He was blessed. With the wealth he actually said to be his wealth apart from the status and position he held in the society. To attain this wealth he takes any step and as many as he could, with maximum effort. He also becomes a trickster finally, for that one final moment to greet someone bye who caused bad times for the treasure he owned. Treasure? Wealth? To know what made the world famous Dr. Raj Kumar to get to the street, to find out what was that treasure he was hunting.. to find out what made him a trickster and to finally find out what was his treasure and wealth.. please do read this wonderful book.

The missed beat is a mystic novel. It is full of suspense and hints of hidden secrets of the past from the beginning itself. Character, Dr Rajkumar, the eminent cardiologist and the founder of Well Hospital is known for his hard work, also he's able to open services over the world.
But this famous man has dark side as well which no one is aware of. The past used to attack him. His surveillance is questionable because of his toxic combination of past and present. Story begins when his daughter get kidnapped by the kidnapper and later his daughter found, but the kidnapper found dead.

Protagonist is heroic. Very well portrayal of parent emotions and value of relationships in life. Language is simple and story is full of twist, drama and thrill.

Must Recommended.

MY THOUGHTS
The story starts with a bang instantly absorbing me and before you realise it made a sizeable dent in my reading.
There is a thrill aspect to the story which takes its readers to Dubai and the dealings there but here the drama surrounding love, family and even humanity takes the predominance in the narrative which I enjoyed more.

The author has done a very good job @ development of characters, stretching plot, trying so hard to pull up the suspense...

🏷Book has some social issues to focus on
You can imagine everything happening in a typical south Indian family. Once I read the blurb I was really interested to know what the story really holds. The blurb is really catchy and the title is short and relates well to the cardiologist and also as to how it takes you through a thrill and catches your mind.

The book consists of amazing thrill and twists. I really loved how the author narrated the incidents you really feel you're going through the scenes. The first half of the book was really my favourite after that it got a little difficult to understand so yeah.

It's a good book with emotions of revenge and nail biting turns in the story.
It's a little medium lengthy book.
Overall 4/5

• a suspense thriller with gripping storytelling nd fast paced narrative.
• The protagonist has his own flaws and a dark past but is a man of fame and honour; Samira's character is too good to be real, true angel indeed. Rajmata wasn't there in whole story but her impact can't be neglected, her strong will even on her death bed was very inspiring.
• There is so much happening in just one chapter that you can't afford to skip a single para.
• I can guarantee that this book is surely gripping as I stole out hours from my exam preparation to finish this book in a day. Couldn't resist the addiction of 'just one more chapter' and the curiosity to know what happened next.
• Book moves from abduction to dark past & other personal problems of Dr RK to romance to game of power to mafia to India's foreign relations and what not!
• Some emotional touch here and there maintained the proper balance. The life lessons by Rajmata were one of my favourite in this book.
• The phrase 'heart missed a beat' has been used for the main lead at more than one occasion, maybe that's why the title.
• Cover could have been much much better in accordance to the plot. I felt it couldn't do justice to the intriguing story.
• Luck and destiny factor is clearly evident at some instances in this book.
• The unfolding of events, those twists and turns were total bomb. But all's well that ends well& thats what actually happened with founder of Get well Hospitals at last.

The story begins in the outpatient ward of Vani Vilas Hospital for Women and Children, a part of Bangalore's Victoria General Hospital complex; where Basheer is waiting a doctor. Basheer was waiting for Dr. Sheela not to meet her but to kidnap her.

Dr. Sheela was the only daughter of eminent Cardiologist Padma Bhushan Dr. RK (Raj Kumar), owner of a chain of corporate healthcare instructions and Get Health Hospitals. Basheer sedates Dr. Sheela and kidnaps her and calls Dr. RK for an amount of nine lakhs fifteen thousand rupees.
Dr.RK has to save her precious daughter fighting against the present madness and haunting past.

What a great book to start my December.. A crazy ride to read. Dr. RK's fear and pain, Basheer's madness and Sheela between everything. Great work.

PS : Dear Author, now you have a (another) crazy fan.

THE MISSED BEAT
BY:- G.V. Subba Rao
- There are some secrets that no matter how much you try to hide or run away from them, destiny brings them to the fore.
missed beat is a well shaped story based on the thrilling adventure of Dr. Raj Kumar an eminent cardiologist, rich, powerful, popular visage and founder of Get Well Hospitals.
The life of Dr. Raj kumar is not simple, as someone said that power comes with responsibility so that Dr RK has. Her daughter Dr. Sheela kidnapped by an unknown person whom Dr RK does not know and why he is doing this. But accidentally kidnapper dies and during the investigation the past chapters of Dr. RK's life opens in a inscrutable manner.
A photo of unknown person found near kidnapper's car plaguing and giving an interesting look to the story. Who is the person in photo and what is the purpose of this photo in the kidnapping?
Answer is hidden in the interesting chapters of the missed beat.
Reading experience-
As well as the formation of this book is concern, it is well shaped and beautifully constructed.
Every chapter unfolds some secrets and leave the reader curious to discover the truth hidden is next chapter. So every chapter is related but fully unpredictable and interesting. How to keep a suspense intact, can be seen in this book. The story, despite being simple, is very interesting and keeps the reader hooked till the end.
Talking about the characters, the portrayal of the main character is good but the arrival of new characters and their important responsibility in the story has been made so good that they do not seem useless. Each character is uniquely designed and their portrayal is done in the same way as the story demands.
The story also hides some deeper issues internally, which are important aspects of human compassion. Issues that are difficult to understand are easily understood in the story.
How the system can be beneficial to wealthy person can be easily understood in this book. Certainly, the story is built around a rich person, so there is no representation of the middle class in it. But the good aspects of rich person can also be seen in this book. They also have humanity which is best explained in this book by many incidents.
Cover and title is good. I really appreciate the title because it is interesting and inquisitive nature. I initially supposed that this will be a love story or else but really surprised when read the whole book. It is more than that.
Thrilling adventure with immense suspense in every chapter makes it a perfect read.
Strongly recommend for thriller lovers.

Missed Beat.

#qotd Do you like #Thrillers
Name a thriller you enjoyed the most.

REALITY IS STRANGER THAN FICTION.

Genre: FICTION/ Thriller
Written by G.V. Subba Rao
Published by Notion Press in Sep.2018

This is the 2nd book by the author..after his successful debut book No Murder Tonight (NMT).

#missedbeat is an edge of the seat thriller.

Penned down in 24 chapters in 332 pages.

It is a THICK book, but a very FAST PACED one. The NARRATIVE is such, it doesn't let you put the book down. Chapter after chapter, you are INTRIGUED to read on.. The PLOT is TERRIFIC, COMPELLING & BRILLIANT. The WRITING style is TAUT, CRISP & fairly SIMPLE LANGUAGE has been used. The CLIMAX is the HIGHLIGHT, which is MIND BOGGLING. TITLE is cent percent APT for the context & the COVER is SIMPLE yet PERFECT for the book but DOESN'T GIVE AWAY the story at all. Even the BLURB in no way gives a peep to the actual thrill in the book.

I am also restraining myself from giving away any spoilers because it would reduce the excitement, the kick & adventure element that one seeks in a thriller.

The story seems very simple..but that is only a mask. The real picture comes into light after a few chapters..

There is use of VERNACULAR language, for creating more impact on the reader's mind.

Blurb:
the protagonist, Dr. Raj Kumar is a big shot, having luxurious cars, a well known Cardiologist, founder of GET WELL Hospitals..a well known name..greatly respected in his fraternity.
He has a daughter.. Dr. Sheela who is also worshipped amongst the patients as a very kind & effective doctor who treats poor people with great empathy & her treatment bears qualitative results.

Now both of these are good human beings..doing good work..so where's the thrill❓

Dr.Sheela gets kidnapped..Dr. Raj loses his cool, his mental calm goes haywire..& then the kidnapper dies of a heart attack..

The police & Dr. Raj are easily able to locate & bring home Dr. Sheela.

The kidnapper had asked for a particular ransom amount..with precise bifurcation on amount by cheque & by cash respectively..

In fact the story begins with the kidnapping scene only..

Now what❓❓ The kidnapper is dead. Dr.Sheela is safe..

Where's the thriller part to the book❓❓

Slowly slowly..Dr. Raj's past comes back into his present..& from here the story picks up pace & keeps you on your TENTERHOOKS till the End.

It's a TOP-NOTCH Thriller.

A STORY OF MIND-BOGGLING, UN-IMAGINABLE, MINACIOUS QUEUE OF EVENTS WITH AN IMPETUOUS RUSH OF DELIGHT.

G.V. Subba Rao's "The Missed beat", on reading the title sounds like some romantic love story with a happy or sad ending. But as soon as the reader begins to read, the plotline has him in it's grip.
A novel full of twists and turns and with suspense at almost every step, it becomes an interesting and entertaining at the same time. As the plotline begins with the planning of kidnapping, the reader presumes the novel to end with the person kidnapped being released and reaching his/her loved ones safely. But that's where the author plays with the mind of the reader because the person is released too soon and the supposed villain dies in the very early part of the novel. Rest of the story revolves around unravelling all that the assumed villain took with him to his grave.
The novel is packed with suspense, mystery, thriller and above everything, close to life and well developed characters. From the very beginning they appear to speak for themselves and the reader kind of forgets that it is the author who is pulling the strings of his characters and making them do what they do. The well knit chapters ensure a smooth progress of the plot and as it further unravels, the reader also keeps wondering why things happen to Dr. Sheela and Dr. R.K and what would be the end results. The language of the book is friendly to the understanding of the reader and the plot progress is just accurate and as per the requirement of the reader's understanding. The initial phase of the novel makes sure that the reader's mind is filled up with all possible questions arousing curiosity which makes him flip through the pages at a greater sleep and not letting him close the book unless it is completed. Since the book is based on real life events, it becomes even more closer to life than any fiction work could be.
This may be the second book of the author but the skill and craftsmanship he shows are remarkable and more such great work or perhaps even beyond this can be expected of the author. The book is a recommended read for all age groups and must have in personal collections.

"The Missed Beat" by GV Subba Rao is an enthralling psychological thriller that deftly intertwines themes of mystery, moral complexity, and the indelible scars of past transgressions. The narrative orbits around Dr. Raj Kumar, a preeminent cardiologist and the esteemed founder of Get Well Hospitals. While outwardly embodying professional success and integrity, he harbors a clandestine history that surfaces with catastrophic consequences following the abduction of his daughter, Dr. Sheela.

His narrative is meticulously crafted, with a fluid writing style that seamlessly oscillates between temporal settings, unraveling the enigmatic past of Dr. Raj Kumar and its inexorable impact on the present predicament. The author demonstrates an adept command of pacing, orchestrating a symphony of suspense that captivates the reader’s attention from the outset. Each plot twist is meticulously constructed, propelling the story with relentless momentum and maintaining a pervasive aura of uncertainty.

The novel's exploration of ethical dilemmas and moral ambiguity is particularly compelling. It interrogates the dichotomy between public persona and private guilt, challenging the reader to contemplate the ramifications of buried secrets. Through his characters, he explores the intricate interplay of love, loyalty, and betrayal, examining the courage required to navigate the treacherous path to redemption.

It is not merely a tale of suspense but a profound meditation on the human condition. It poignantly illustrates that affluence is not synonymous with fulfillment, and true happiness eludes those who forsake genuine relationships. The narrative's evocative portrayal of societal issues serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring power of empathy and integrity.

In conclusion, it is a masterfully penned thriller that offers an intoxicating blend of emotional depth and dramatic intrigue. It is a cerebral and thought-provoking read that leaves a lasting imprint, compelling the reader to ponder the delicate balance between past and present, truth and deception.

.

Dr. Raj kumar, an very famous and successful cardiologist and the chairman of Get Well Hospitals, but he also had a dark secret related to him.
.

When One day, his daughter Dr. sheela gets kidnapped by Basheer from there starts this superb roller coaster ride of past, present and the future.
.

The story line is well paced and nicely penned. The narration is amazing and the use of vocabulary is very nice. The characters are wonderfully related and attached to the story.
.

The author has done a incredible job in keeping up the suspense till end. It’s very hard to imagine what twist can come ahead while reading. It’s an ride full of mysteries and suspense layered and moving from one place to another smoothly.
.

The author has also done awesome job with the research of different fields which is an add-on cause seems all real and keep us hooked.
.

According to me the cover could have been better and more relatable. I also found it hard to find the title relevant to storyline but it is fine by as the story moves till last.
.

What was his dark secret?
Will he be able to get out from this mystery of past and present?
How an 20 year old incident will change his life forever?
Who was Basheer and what did he wanted from Dr. Sheela?
He was behind Dr. sheela or was seeking some old revenge from Dr. Raj kumar?
Or was it something else completely?

These are the very few questions to which the beautiful answer is the mysterious story “The missed beat”.

It is an strong read which gives light on some social issues as well and also tells us that money is not everything and it cannot buy us happiness. A perfect blend of emotional and dramatic one.

It is a story which starts very simple but as you move on, it’ll surly keep you shocked and take your head somewhere else.

Definitely recommend to all. .

Dr. Raj Kumar, the ever enigmatic and charming cardiologist, is the renowned founder of Get Well Hospitals. A giant in his field, he is respected by all who know him. But behind his impeccable reputation lies a past he has kept carefully hidden. Life was going smoothly for Dr. Raj Kumar and his family, until one fateful day his beloved daughter goes missing. The nightmare that follows shatters his world, as he discovers the kidnapping has something to do with his past. As time passes, Dr. Raj Kumar finds himself on a treacherous rollercoaster of emotions. With each passing moment, he must confront the ghosts that have haunted him for years, forcing him to make an impossible choice between his present and the shadows of his past. 'The Missed Beat' will take you though the tale of love, loss and grief.

'The Missed Beat' is a contemporary, mystery thriller, that takes us through the life of Dr. Raj Kumar as he reflects on his past. The narrative weaves two parallel and interconnected plots with each other, seamlessly blending the past and present. This book successfully maintains a good of mystery but falls short in terms of plot variation. For that same reason the story feels draggy and often goes nowhere. Apart from the story, I was finding it hard to connect with the characters. The character sketches did not meet my expectations.

Coming to the writing, the narrative is well crafted, but it occasionally gets bogged down with unnecessary details that eventually slowed the pace and made certain sections feel repetitive. Despite these shortcomings I would say that because the writing is straightforward and accessible it might be an easy read for beginners. If you're looking for a racey thriller, then this book is not for you. Although the book has its flaws, it offers an engaging exploration of a man haunted by his past, and will appeal to those who enjoy a slow burn thriller.

There are books whose cover makes you say “Wow!! This will be interesting.” This book is one of them and it is quite enjoyable. Except for some ideological differences, I found this book to be a very well written piece. Let’s find out.

The book is about a certain man named Raj Kumar, MD & CEO of Get Well Hospitals. He is also a billionaire doctor, who has revolutionized the Indian medical scene with his multi-specialty hospitals and his good intentions. He has a loving wife and a caring daughter, who herself is a doctor. The family seems to live a happy and perfect life. But, Raj has a dark secret, about which no one knows. Not even the doctor himself. But, all hell breaks loose when his daughter is kidnapped by a man named Basheer. The following trail leads him to a chapter from his past that is controversial and threatens to turn his life upside down.

I absolutely loved the story arc and character work from the author. The characters are very well developed and almost every character feels real. What I also liked about the book is that it highlights the fact that in today’s money can achieve almost everything...but it goes over the limit at some point. I also found a slight misogynist flavor in few parts. For example

“Son is a son to any father. Considering that daughters aligned their lives with their husbands, a son becomes the sole inheritor of not only his genes but his proud empire too.”

I mean, why is it necessary that after marriage a daughter aligns with her husband and does not care about parents? Also, this has nothing to do with genes, especially when she herself is shown as a capable and successful doctor.

This book will be close to me also because it helped me through a boring Train Travel. So, baring a few instances it is a page-turner and thrilling book. Kudos to the author!!

The Missed Beat by GV Subba Rao is a gripping suspense thriller that delves deep into the complexities of human nature and the consequences of buried secrets. At the heart of the narrative is Dr. Raj Kumar, a highly esteemed cardiologist and the founder of Get Well Hospitals. He is revered in his profession, yet his carefully constructed facade begins to crumble when his daughter is kidnapped, setting off a chain of events that threaten to unravel his entire life.
I liked the author's writing style which is fluid, appealing, and well-paced, adeptly navigating between past and present to unravel the mystery behind the protagonist’s past actions and their connection to the present crisis. The author skillfully constructs a plot filled with unexpected twists and turns, keeping the reader on edge and eager to uncover the truth alongside the characters.

I enjoyed the way the author has explored ethical dilemmas and moral ambiguity. The book weaves together the aspects of love, relationship, and the magnitude of courage required to choose the right path. The supporting cast of characters adds depth and complexity to the narrative, each playing a crucial role in Dr. Raj Kumar's journey of self-discovery and redemption. From loyal allies to cunning adversaries, every character feels integral to the story's progression.

Though the book is well-paced, I felt that the editing could been better to make it more crisp and riveting. The detailing of the events are written well however the textual quantity could have been slightly reduced.

Overall, this book is a one-time enjoyable read that will keep readers enthralled from beginning to end. With its well-crafted plot, complex characters, and thought-provoking themes, this novel is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who enjoys a suspenseful tale woven with depth and intrigue.

Book :The missed beat
Author GV Subba Rao
Review: In “Missed Beat,” G.V. Subba Rao presents a gripping narrative that delves into the darker corners of human nature. The story revolves around Dr. Raj Kumar, a renowned cardiologist and founder of Get Well Hospitals, whose life takes a harrowing turn when his daughter, Dr. Sheela, is kidnapped. This act sets off a tumultuous chain of events, revealing long-buried secrets that threaten to unravel the life Dr. Kumar has meticulously built.

Rao masterfully intertwines the personal and the professional as Dr. Kumar is forced to confront not only the immediate danger facing his daughter but also the haunting repercussions of his past decisions. The plot’s intensity is underscored by a relentless pace, keeping readers on edge as they navigate through the intricate layers of deceit and intrigue. The stakes are high, blending the urgent need to save a loved one with the ultimate challenge of reconciling with one’s past.

The narrative excels in its ability to create suspense, making every revelation feel both shocking and inevitable. Rao’s portrayal of Dr. Kumar’s emotional and psychological turmoil is compelling, showcasing the high personal cost of professional success. As Dr. Kumar races against time, the novel’s roller coaster ride is as much about the internal struggle of a man facing his demons as it is about the external quest to rescue his daughter.

Overall, “Missed Beat” stands out as a hard-hitting thriller that not only entertains but also offers a profound exploration of the consequences of one’s actions. Rao’s skillful storytelling ensures that the novel remains a memorable and engaging read.

• plus, I was happy to come across the arabic and hindi words once in a while. Learnt about some medical stuff along with these words.
• Thoroughly enjoyed reading this piece. Looking forward to read more from Subha Rao.

We always think a person's life is amazing and better than ours. We always end up comparing our lives with another person. Despite the fact, we don’t know anything about what’s going on inside actually. So sort of the same thing happened with Dr. Raj Kumar. The Missed Beat is a heart- hitter thriller based story of Dr. Raj Kumar, the eminent cardiologist and the founder of 'Get Well' Hospitals. But no one knew about a dark secret he nurtured within. Cause two can keep a secret if one of them is dead. His perfect life goes upside down all of sudden as his precious daughter Sheela gets kidnapped. Just like Dr. Raj Kumar, his daughter is also a doctor.  Dr. Raj Kumar was horrified after he gets the news of skeletons being found. Since then past started haunting him. People say all the time past events don’t matter. It cannot affect your future. But in reality, it can affect and change your future.

The plot is engaging which brings a whole rollercoaster ride of emotions, fear and deadly combination of the past, present, and future.
The characters are well developed and entertaining.
The story pace and narration is great.
The title is catchy.
The twist and turn are interesting. Totally a thriller read.

“The Missed Beat” by G V Subba Rao is a riveting thriller that pulls readers into the enigmatic life of Dr. Raj Kumar, a celebrated cardiologist and the founder of Get Well Hospitals. Despite his professional acclaim, Dr. Kumar harbors a dark secret. His carefully constructed world unravels when his daughter, Dr. Sheela, is kidnapped, unleashing a torrent of shocking revelations. As the past resurfaces with a vengeance, Dr. Kumar must navigate a treacherous path to save his daughter and confront his hidden demons. Subba Rao expertly crafts a tale of suspense and heart-stopping twists, keeping readers enthralled from start to finish.

Since there are a lot of dialogical narrations in the book—many of which I loved reading—it has been quite effectively written. The plot’s plenty of drama is why I adored it. I anticipate a lot of drama in every novel I read. The protagonist’s approach to handling situations with significant losses if things didn’t work out impressed me. Excellent representation of the feelings of parents and the importance of connections throughout life.

I found myself turning the pages to find out what would happen next. Each chapter reveals a few truths, piquing the reader’s interest in learning the full truth in the following chapter. Each chapter is therefore connected, yet equally fascinating and surprising. I like the way the writer described the experiences you had while experiencing the situations. Had a great time reading this essay. Anticipating more writing from Subha Rao.
