I read this one a little while ago, and remember it being the best in terms of pace and story. I definitely remember the ending suited, and that the characters - Michelle and Gwyn - had an awful lot to deal with, so the tension was thrumming! The fact I still remember it quite vividly and think of it fondly after all this time means it was a great read :D

Gwyn's struggles in this book feel entirely real, and you just want her to come out on top. This makes me want to read the whole series all over again!
