Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.

Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.

Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.

According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.

Another Blyton childhood favourite, I would read this multiple times!

Mr Twiddle is just so hopelessly silly, he’s forgetfulness is so amusing.
He even locks a duck in the dogs kennel!

another children's book from the collection I found at the local used bookstore. short stories about an old couple who lived with a sly cat named Puss (just Puss :)). cute couple really in love, husband who always messed things up and super grumble wife, golden retriever and black cat. I love the book, I thought of my dear grandparents while reading it. I researched and found that the author seemed to be a famous children's author, the reason why the plot was built in an amusing way. Not my childhood, but maybe someone's bedtime stories. You cannot be too strict in a kiddie book, so I'm not criticizing it.

Well, Really Mr Twiddle! (Happy Days) by Enid Blyton- I like to read Twiddle series of books for Children. This is book is about elder grand parents. Mr Twiddle is an old man who means to do his best but as usual he is forgetful, lazy and silly. Mrs Twiddle is quite bothered by his antics. In this Book Mr Twiddle takes his pet dog for a walk at night. He ends up taking a goose to his house. The language is simple and children are bound This is a good read book for children and for all.

3.5 stars. The first time reading this book, at age 31. I thought this was very enjoyable and the short stories about Mr. Twiddle's mishaps were witty and funny. This adult laughed out loud at some of his misadventures.
