This is the story of 18-year-old Dandelion Meadows (Dani) that moved in with her older brother, who becomes her guardian, after being injured in a high school shooting incident in which their mother, who was a school nurse, was killed. 💔

I don’t know what it is about forbidden romance, but it always calls to us like a moth to a flame. We crave the excitement of knowing that a forbidden relationship is in the works, the passion is looming like a roaring flame and sooner or later, we will get heartbroken. But what do we do? We savor the story instead because deep down, we know that it’s going to be worth it.

I’m a huge fan of age-gap and teacher/student romances, so everything about the blurb for SWEET DANDELION spoke to me. Dandelion Meadows is an 18yr old high school student, and Lachlan Taylor is her 29yr old school counsellor; I was so looking forward to reading their forbidden love story.
For the most part, it was enjoyable, particularly the first half...unfortunately it kind of went down hill for me after that. It dragged on too long and I ended up skipping all the descriptions just to read th

Me looking at all the five star ratings like 👀 this book was wattpad level to them max. Very cheesy and unrealistic. The heroine annoyed tf outta me with her throwing herself a pity party every chapter with some odd arcane dialogue every scene break. I know she went through a tragedy, but there is a difference between saying you're depressed, and actually being depressed, and your actions have to coincide with your thoughts. That means not being super depressed one second and then to

It had been days since I picked up a book and was able to concentrate and read. But as soon as I opened Sweet Dandelion everything was thrown out the window. Every part of me was consumed and I couldn’t read fast enough. Obsessed—completely and utterly captivated.

The forbidden aspect is what drew me in from the start to this book. But I had no idea that the story of Dandelion Meadows would be so much more than I expected. This wasn’t like any other forbidden romance between a student and her sch

I finished this book in one sitting!
Eighty six chapters and two epilogues done.
You know the book is good when you start jumping from chapter into another without paying much attention to these digits to later on realize you’re in the middle of the book and then get a glimpse of the time and find out that you’ve been reading for hours without

This book is phenomenal!!! I can gush about this story for hours. This is a 600 page book and every page was so worth it. This story gave me everything I needed in a story. It was angsty, sad, emotional, steamy, there was chemistry, and love!! Their chemistry shined through the pages from the very beginning. I love how he is with her. Let’s her get out as much as she wants and always takes interest in anything she has to say. Even though it’s in Dandelions POV we still see when his interest abou ...more

Not a major fan of forbidden romance -- especially with large age differences. Somehow Smeltzer took Dani and Lachlan to another level and I fell hard for their story. The extraspecial touches were everything to this story. I loved the strength mixed with the hurt and pain, the decisions, although heartbreaking, were purposeful. The friendships were unique and made for some interesting reading filled with wit and laugh out loud banter. And the emotional ties between a sister and brother that cem ...more
Okay... wow! 😳First of all, I don't think I've ever finished a book with 600+ pages this fast! It took me a day... Anyway, it was surprisingly good! TW though for school shootings, death, trauma, and PTSD! I loved this book though. The characters were not my favorite fictional characters ever written, but they weren't bad either! (although, Ansel, a side character, IS SO PRECIOUS CAN I HAVE HIM?????).
I will definitely be giving the author another chance, and this book was actually good.

This is the first book that I've read by thus author and omgawwdd it is remarkable. From beginning to end I just couldn't put this book down, my life had to stop literally so I could see what was going to happen. Its so emotionally raw and intense that it will have your heart hurting for the characters in this book wanting you to jump on in and hug them.

Dani has been through an extreme tragedy, something no living person should ever have to endure and my heart aches for her totally.

Sweet Dandelion has to be the best book this author has wrote yet one of the best this year that I've read in the last two years!

Dani world is turned upside down and moves in with her older brother Sage. Her senior year will start fresh at a new High School and new friends but still things will never be the same. She will always look for a window in the room, a way to escape but what she doesn't expect is the hot HS Counselor sitt

“How can I embrace new people into my life when I’m a shattered vase with shards threatening to stab anyone who tries to get close?”

There are books that leave you with just a book hangover, but then there are books that leave you scarred, in an unforgettable state.

Tragically beautiful.

Sweet Dandelion by Micalea Smeltzer is that kind of book.

A new to me author, and this book could not have been any more amazing. The emotional parts, the laughable parts, the top-notch angst level wa

I can't resist a good old student teacher age gap story and our Dandelion had all sorts of other issues too.

It kept me reading and invested but wow it was long - so much filler, extraneous details about her day, lots of information about what she was making for dinner, details about doing her laundry and a trip around Europe that could have been covered in a couple of paragraphs that instead was spread over several long chapters. I'm still not sure why Ansel was there.

Complete story. It wa

This is a book which double POV would have helped me a LOOOOOOOT

I missed getting to know about him and his thoughts, his feelings.. it was a pity..

I know Dandelion is the focus, it's about her, buuuuuuuuuuut.....

Ansel was also a great part of this story and I also don't know how I feel about it LOL

I liked it a lot, even though it was tiring up to 40%

“Sweet Dandelion” is a book about growth and healing and finding love where you least expect it. I have a lot of feelings about this book. I really loved Dandelion and her journey to finding herself again. This story was heart breaking and powerful. Once you start reading you get sucked in and the book fly’s by and that’s amazing considering this book has 601 pages. My only issue was that I just could not feel the connection between Dan

I am in awe of this author and this book! I have been a fan of Micalea's for quite some time now, but she is in a whole other league with this masterpiece. This a book that deserves to be read, deserves to be loved and appreciated regardless of where you stand politically. This is a book that will stay with you long after you finish reading, it will convey so many emotions, it will make you cry and you will feel the despair of our characters.. No words can express how beautiful this tale is. I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK.HARD.! I am new to Micalea Smeltzer and with me being gone for far too long in the book world, I must say I missed a lot. This woman carved into my heart as one of my new unicorn author. With this beautiful and emotional story, she had me in tears, tugging my heart strings one by one.

Slow burn at its finest! And you know what's amazing with books like this? It will burn you with all the FEELS. It really did mine.

Kudos, Micalea!

A truly touching and emotional story. I loved this book. I read the whole thing in one sitting into the early hours of the morning because I couldn't put the book down. I was so invested, and it's been a while since I've felt so intensely angry, sad, or happy throughout a book.

The writing was great and the characters I really connected with. The book was longer than I expected, but I'm glad for some of those ending chapters, because I needed more of a resolution.

wow i completely adored this book. i definitely recommend it!!
Wow. This is honestly one of the best age gaps I have ever read. It was so touching but heartbreaking at the time time. Lachlan was perfect for Dani. Even though he saved her and helped her and was her safety net, she ended up saving herself in the long run. Such a beautiful story.
I had high expectations for this book which I assumed because many people highly recommend this. I liked the book, no doubt. I just don't like the hero, I felt off. We fully know the past of Dani, which makes her as she is in the story. But from Lachlan's side, I really have no idea what kind of life he grew up from. The story would be great if I am acquainted by Lachlan's personal life. Overall, I enjoyed the book, I loved the essence of true friend (Dani and Ansel) that was shown in the story. ...more
