Latest editorial review - For Castoffs of the Gods - "If you're a fan of Indiana Jones-style action-adventure stories, you'll have a blast reading Castoffs of the Gods. Author Sonja Dewing digs into ancient Incan mythology to weave a captivating tale filled to the brim with mystery and lore. The plot moves at a brisk pace, with twists and turns galore to keep you engrossed throughout the pages. The characters have strong personalities and distinct motives that create plenty of conflict and drama. I particularly enjoyed Leslie and AJ's dynamic. There's something about stories of undertaking dangerous quests in the wilderness that appeals to the adventurous spirit in humans. The Idol Maker series quenches that thirst and more. I had a wonderful experience with it and recommend it to fans of fantasy and adventure."

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

A woman who is given powers by an ancient Inca god goes to her old stomping grounds to fix a computer problem at the casinos, only to find herself facing a skinwalker.

Most of the stuff about life on the rez was done much better by the Hillermans. The really interesting stuff was about the skinwalker and his descent into evil and madness.

Fresh and fascinating

Gamble of the Gods is a wild romp with original story telling. Thanks for another excellent read! Now I have to go re-read Toy of the Gods.

Inca god versus Navajo skinwalker

AJ is a talented self employed IT programmer, native Navajo living in New York. Fredericton is a DEA agent and boyfriend of AJ. thoroughly urbanized, distant from her relatives, she has not been home since her mother's death. AJ left New Mexico years earlier when her mother felt the city life held a future they both needed for a better job. A call from her cousin about unique problem solving commission from a tribal casino sends into a challenge unlocking a power from a god and a scary Amazonian adventure in the first book. This is book 2 in the series, fast action, mythical powers and knowledge of ancient cultures, force the reader on a journey of Native American history and Incan gods . The trip is worth the dangers. Looking forward to completing the series, I expect the series will be many more books to come.

Super Powers

Thank you Goodreads and Sonja Dewing for a digital copy of Gamble of the Gods. It is the second in the series and although it was good as a stand alone book in the series, I wish I would have read Book 1 first for a better background of the main character AJ. She has been granted special powers by a God she came across in the Amazon. Her cousin asks her to return to her Navajo home to help solve money discrepancies at the casino and she ends up learning more about her powers and fighting evil.

I got this book(kindle edition) on one of the giveaways. This story was very different..AJ has come back to the rez in New Mexico after being in South America. She is changed, being indwelled by an Inca God..and money disappearing from the casino and a skin walker added to the story.
The characters were good and the plot moved well...I enjoyed the story and if you like fantasy and mystery rolled into one, I highly recommend it.

I won this book through a giveaway. This was different premise than what I have been used to reading. I like the mix of supernatural and mystery. I’m going to have to go back and read the first book to see how this Inca woman got her supernatural powers.

Easy read, interesting characters and storyline. Also enjoyed learning the tidbits around the Navajo people and their culture.

I really enjoyed the story and flow of this book. I liked the first book in the series, but I liked this one more as it is set in my state of New Mexico. Interesting mix of modern (computer hackers) and traditional/mythical (flesh pedestrian ) troubles. WTG, Sonja! Looking forward to reading book 3.
