Arieen Fleming is desperate to break her betrothal to the vile Viscount Quartermain, so desperate she has concocted a plan that will surely make her father withdrawal his consent - she will catch him in the middle of a tryst with his latest mistress. But her plan goes horribly wrong thanks to Coburn Wallace, the betrothal is broken, but the cost was higher than Arieen ever anticipated.

One of my favorite things about this novella is that neither of the main characters has a title. Both are commoners and the hero isn’t rich – and the heroine doesn’t come with a huge dowry.

Nineteen-year-old Arieen Gillian Kinna Fleming is determined to break her betrothal to the odious, womanizing, pompous, wiley, snake-in-the-grass Viscount Quartermain. She didn’t choose to be betrothed to him and the more she has learned

If only we could all have a rake like Coburn to Redeem
(((big sigh)))
What a great book ,a really good story of love and betrayal to get your heart thumping .
Just what you need to relax and loose yourself in for a couple of hours .
The beautiful, romantic setting of Edinburgh ballrooms to the Rugged Highlands is perfect .
The added bonus of Logan and Arieen’s steadfast friend Berget , I thought we’re great , these two needed friends and family around them .
Wonderful loved every page !

To Redeem a Highland Rake: A Historical Scottish Romance is the second book in the Heart of a Scot series by Collette Cameron. As I haven't read the first book I can easily say that this book can be read as a standalone one.

Arieen Flemming is being forced into a marriage with a man who she knows is a philanderer and who is only after her dowry. She endeavours to catch him in the act with one of his lady friends at a ball they have been invited to. The perfect opportunity arises but is foiled by

Again, Collette Cameron’s wit shines through with Aireen Fleming determined to control who she marries and Coburn Wallace, a confirmed rake who’s determined to never marry. Throw in an unexpected twist, a knight in shining armour, a scheme gone awry and you have another favorite Collette Cameron story.

Arieen Fleming deliberately creates a public scandal to avoid being forced to marry an English lord, what she didn't foresee was being thrown out & disowned by her father
Coburn Wallace is a man who enjoys life and women to the fullest. As cousin and second-in-command to Logan Rutherford, he has no need or desire to marry and produce an heir. When a beautiful female pirate demands he kiss her, who is he to refuse such an unexpected gift? When he witnesses all that transpires after their kiss,

Can a Rake be Redeemed? It is always possible, yes definitely, okay maybe, uh, hopefully! With only a week before the wedding, Arieen is determined to somehow break her betrothal. After all Viscount Quartermain has some stellar qualities (oh yes bad) that have appeared and she never wanted the marriage to begin with!!
So she sees her opportunity when at a masquerade ball and thinks she can catch him with someone else!! But as often happens, plans go awry and she finds herself being helped by

This was a very entertaining read. Although Arieen has a good strength of character, she also has a caring heart. She has a despicable father and stepmother who wish to use her to better their situation. Coburn Wallace, although he is called a rake, he too, has his honourable side. They do have an instant attraction but try not to acknowledge it. Circumstances bring them together and their attraction develops. However there are others who have different ideas for Arieen. There are some amusing ...more

To Redeem a Highland Rake is Book two in the Heart of a Scot series by Collette Cameron. This is a wonderful story and fits like a puzzle piece with the first book in the series To Love a Highland Rogue. Although this is a standalone, it is so much richer to read To Love a Highland Rogue first and then move on to this book. I absolutely adored the hero in this story Coburn Wallace. There are so many tender, sweet, romantic scenes.

This is book two in the series and I loved the beginning of this story and meeting Arieen at a masquerade ball as she attempts to thwart her betrothal to a philandering Englishman. Coburn tried to save her innocent sensibilities by preventing her stumbling upon the unsuspecting couple which leads to his compromising Arieen. I love reading Collette Cameron as she uses humor and wit with strong heroines and roguish hero’s.

To Redeem a Highland Rogue by Collette Cameron is the next in her Heart of a Scot series and features Coburn Wallace, who we met briefly in the last book, the cousin of Logan Rutherford and Arieen, daughter of Robert Fleming, a wealthy merchant eager for his daughter to wed a title. Hence, the betrothal to Viscount Quartermain, whom she despised. He was a man of low character and she was going to use the ball this evening to prove it and break her betrothal. She only needed to get away from her ...more

Her impulsive act resulted in consequences she hadn’t expected, and a shocking betrayal. She is disowned and thrown out of her home with nowhere to go. Coburn wants to help and protect Arieen. "To Redeem a Highland Rake" is Collette Cameron's second installment of her Heart of a Scot series. It is every bit as delightful as the first book, but can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. Cameron has delivered another magical tale of the Scottish Highlands. It's a quick read that you won't want to put down until you find out what happens! I can't wait for book three!

Desperate times call for desperate measures and they might just redeem a rake. I was hooked from the moment her plan was revealed and her back up plan. That spark between them ignited from across the room and they were goners as soon as they kissed. I was completely shocked by every word that came out of her father's mouth when he saw them. When Coburn showed her where he came from and told her he couldn't let her be homeless made my heart melt. The way they got married is one of my favorite ...more

I loved Coburn and Arieen's story!!

Arieen is desperate to get out of her betrothal, but when Coburn interferes with her plans, she moves on to plan B...kissing Coburn. But plan B also goes awry. Arieen just wanted to end the betrothal, but ends up being kicked out of her home instead. Since Coburn helped her into the situation, he offers marriage to her. Arieen doesn't want to marry a stranger, so she asks if Coburn's cousin can employ her. She would at least have a place to live and some

Is there such a thing as love at first sight? Well, in the story of To Redeem a Highland Rake by Collette Cameron book 2 in the Heart of a Scot series I would have say yes. Collette stories and writing are both truly wonderful. Her stories are original, creative and she always includes an animal in every story. I have read most of Collette’s books and she has yet to disappoint. You fall in love with her characters especially Coburn in To Redeem A Highland Rake and her stories are both charming ...more

Coburn, feeling a little guilty and sympathetic to Aireen's plight, does the only thing that can save her ending up in the gutter. He offers to marry her.
This is a well written book with loveable characters, especially Coburn. I found Aireen a little nieve in not realising that men can vitually behave as they want, whilst a woman cannot defy convension

It never ceases to bother me when I read what women have had to contend with throughout history. Thank goodness there have always been some good men mixed in with the jerks, that supported women as capable human beings when the laws & odds were against them.
