My Rating: 4.5 Stars!
He was nothing like the tall, dark and handsome, silent types that seemed to be able to woo the ladies and win their hearts. What Will Fairwell was, was an insecure man, unaware of his true strengths who had fallen in love with a woman so far out of his comfort zone that only a miracle could bring her to notice him or to see his hidden strengths. She wasn’t even interested in him for his money.

My Heart Did Fly is the second book in the Fearless Fairwells series. This wonderful Regency romance captured my interest from the first and kept me engaged until the last page. Will Fairwell vowed not to marry until he found a woman who would tell him to shut up when he was talking too much. He may have found just the woman in Frances MacDougal but she is out of his reach. The characters are well developed, lovable, and have charming discussions together. The humour in this story kept it lighth

Another fantastic Lang romance! This one centers on Will, the youngest Fairwell brother, who we met in A Good Kiss is Hard to Find (briefly), and the events of this story overlap those of book 1. So, allow me to gush about what I adore about this book (which is still strange for me to say, since previous to this series I did not consider myself a romance fan):
Will:
He is the opposite of tall, dark, and handsome. How wonderful to have a male lead who is not defined by his looks or shallow (toxic) ...more

My Heart Did Fly by Augustine Lang
This is the second book that I have read by this author. I thought that the first book had a few issues, the most pressing being that the opening scene was confusing because a large cast of characters was introduced. Having read the first book, though, I found this book was much more easily digested because of an even more in-depth knowledge of the Fairwell family and their large group of acquaintances and friends. But I had a new issue with this book. It felt a ...more

A very rich novel full of hilarious moments. You can't help but feel empathy for William, the nerd who only sees the good in another. He is not the prettiest, he is small and has crooked teeth but a character that you can only respect.
The actress Frances thinks that too. She is used to men chasing her, don't even expect anything else. She is vain, loves to be complimented, but upholds her reputation by not selling her body for money.
Her goal is to marry for love.

He loves her because of her wickedness and humor!
I was so impressed with the first book I read by Ms. Lang that I could not wait to read the second book I downloaded of hers. I do believe I have found another author that I am going to be following. The author did a beautiful job of developing the characters and there is a good number in this lovely story. This story had a lighthearted tone to it. There are few issues that are not light and airy but Frances weathers them very well. William was su ...more

It seems I did not go in order when reading these books, and I can't say I am disappointed. Will was a refreshing change in our usual alpha males. An endearingly short chatterbox only made his pursuit of Frances that much more charming. There was nothing in his character I could find fault in.

I write Regency romances in which the men act like gentlemen...even when they're not.
My books are sweet in tone but with varying levels of steam (always labelled in the description). Happily-ever-afters are guaranteed!
