I said yes to being a fake wife to the hottest Hollywood actor alive. Was it a stupid move? Probably. Josh needed a wife to look mature and get better roles. I agreed to save his career and add some excitement to my mundane life. But things didn’t turn out the way I’d expected. Josh can’t keep his hands off me. He’s possessive. He wants me all to himself. And I’m tempted to give my all to him. I didn’t sign up for this. But I have to tell him how I feel. Especially now that he’s fighting for his life. If I don’t get to him now, I might have to regret it forever. Pretend Wife is a full-length romance filled of forbidden desires, all wrapped up with a beautiful and sweet HEA sure to make your heart soar! This book is part of the Forbidden Desires Series but stands alone. Books do not have to be read in order.

An easy and quick romance read that didn’t thrill me.
Josh was a better character than Abby where she appeared selfish and frivolous. There was potential for development, the characters felt inadequate and I couldn’t catch their connection. Both of them agreed in this fake relationship for their own benefit and in the long run they were in love with each other undefinably.

An entertaining read. Josh is an actor and Abby is a script writer they meet and sparks fly. When Abby’s apartment burns down, she finds Josh’s card and gives him a call. He is happy to help and in turn she becomes his fake wife to help his career. What will happen when both want more. Entertaining read, steamy chemistry and great characters. I liked it.

Cute story about a pretend marriage that quickly has the characters catching feeling . Josh is a movie star that is type caste as a hot guy with no brains. he is practically naked in all his roles. He wants a deeper role with memorable characters. Abby is a screen writer that is just starting out. She has to break into the men's lounge and try to get her ideas out there. They meet in an elevator. When tragedy strikes, the only person Abby can call is a near stranger, Josh. They become friends and eventually make a deal of a marriage of convenience to help Josh change his image. I loved Josh, he was down to earth and easy going for the most part. Abby was young, opinionated and a little bit self centered. the ex boyfriend situation and the fight at the toward the end of the story showed a little immaturity on her part. There was some quick growth toward the end.

Ben trovate care Fenici, vi sentite romantiche oggi?

Buona lettura e a presto.

Real Love, Not Pretend

Josh Mason is stuck in an acting rut. The handsome and physically fit actor can’t get the casting gods to allow him out of the typecast image of handsome jock, sexy stud or intellectually limited, but funny hunk. The casting directors don’t see that besides good abs he really does have a brain and acting skills. So, what’s a guy to do to get a chance to show his range of skills with his clothes on as well as off? His agent and his publicist understand and sympathize and suggest that if he wants roles that move outside the current range, he needs to change his image from looking-for-fun single and available male to serious, grounded adult male, engaged in charitable work and thoughtful past times. He needed to get married, start a family.

Abby Lang is an aspiring writer, slowly working her way into the Hollywood writing world, first as a script supervisor who also wrote teleplays on the spec. Now, with the unexpected death of one of the male writers, she has broken into a male-dominated writing team for a top television warfare drama. The problem is that she hates her job—she hates the testosterone laden writing team that rebels against plot lines that empower the few women in the series, or only see women as tension release for the warriors after a long day on the battlefield. She needs something that will change her professional trajectory and will value her as a writer who happens to be a woman.

Fate intervenes when Josh and Abby get stuck on a cranky elevator which breaks down, allowing them to fill time introducing themselves. As the elevator starts back up, Josh hands Abby his card with his phone number which she drops in her pocket. Fate continues its intervention later when Abby, fleeing her burning apartment building in a fluster, leaves her phone behind. When one of the attending firemen offers to let her use his phone to call friend, Abby can’t recall any numbers. But, she does have Josh’s card, and she calls, and he comes to pick her up. Recognizing Abby’s need to calm down and relax, he takes her to a Chinese restaurant to eat and calm down, sharing their professional frustrations.

When Abby uses her skills as a writer to craft an article for TMZ recounting the “knight in shining armor” kindness and help of Josh, his image begins to be reshaped from playboy to knight. And, a vision begins to take shape, first by Josh, then Abby, that they could form a partnership to help each other. Josh’s new image with a wife would help him enter a new phase of his career. Abby, as Josh’s wife, would have a stable home, financial support and professional contacts to redirect her writing career. And so, they decide to “pretend” to marry for two years.

Annie J. Rose’s characters may “pretend” to marry, but she does not exercise pretense in her presentation of the clever and grounded evolving relationship of Josh and Abby. The characters are well-drawn and the emotional engagement of the two is a pleasure for the reader. The interaction of the characters is smart and draws the reader into the “pretend” relationship with the hope that it will become real.

Light and easy with great banter

Without a doubt one of Annie J. Rose’s best works so far, this book features some great banter, a build from strangers to friends to lovers to spouses, sexual tension and a peek inside the lives of Hollywood actors. I really loved our hero - he’s a Channing Tatum-like actor known for playing the hot, dumb guy, but underneath all of the obvious sexiness lies a heart that’s just as appealing. It’s a light, quick, and easy read with a nice blend of steam and depth.

The story follows Josh, an actor who wants to be taken seriously and cast in different roles than what he’s being offered. His team suggests that if he wants to be taken seriously professionally, then he needs to look serious in his personal life - find himself a wife, a golden retriever, and settle down. When he meets Abby, a TV writer who just got her first big job, there’s an immediate comfort between them. She sees the real guy hiding beneath all of the sex appeal, and he is intrigued by Abby’s passion for her work. When Abby seeks out Josh’s help, she inadvertently puts herself in the spotlight and since all of the tabloids seem to think they’re part of a fairytale romance, Josh thinks it might be the perfect opportunity to advance both of their careers. As they make the transition from new friends to future spouses, it doesn’t feel like they’re pretending... and that complicates everything.

I’ve read several of Rose’s books at this point, and this is definitely one of my favorites. There’s no rush to move things forward - there’s some great banter, and I didn’t get the feeling that they were immediately head over heels for each other. They like and respect each other, sure, but it’s only once they get to know each other better that the romance really kicks in. It’s also an interesting look into Hollywood and how all of the connections come into play, so that made this stand out from all of the other fake relationship romances out there. Josh makes a great hero (though he faltered a bit for me at the end) and Abby’s a little different from the typical heroine so that made for an interesting dynamic. All in all, it’s a quick and light book that’s certainly worth a read. I received a free copy via Booksprout (and then purchased it for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review.

If you have ever read a story by Annie J. Rose, then you know that you are going to be able to sit down and enjoy a great story. I enjoyed seeing the other side of how Hollywood works. Yes, we have heard how actors get pigeonholed into the types of movies they are chosen for, and this is a good example. We have well-developed characters that interact well with each other. This isn't an instant love story, it grows, from strangers to friends, to lovers to spouses.

Abby is a TV writer who asks Josh for some help, and meanwhile, it looks like the paparazzi have decided that they must be a couple now. When Josh tells her how his agent has suggested that he get a fake girlfriend/wife to try to bring his image up from just a walking talking hulk to a serious actor, she goes along with it.

Josh is the newest hottest male actor but he can't break out of the eye-candy roles that he keeps getting. He wants to be taken seriously and get some comedy, romance and drama roles. At first, when his agent suggest that he get a fake wife, he hates the idea. When the paps throw him and Abby into a couple, he likes it. He enjoys being around Abby. It is like she sees the real him underneath. She understands the industry, unlike most others. They first become friends, then they can't keep their hands off of each other and then it makes it really easy to pretend to be married. At what point is their marriage fake and where does it become real?

Josh is a movie star, a walking sex symbol ans nobody takes him seriously. He's been trying to break out of the mold he's been cast in. He knows he can be so much more than just dumb eye candy.

Abby is a script writer, she's just gotten her dream job writing for a popular tv show and should be happy but it's mot easy breaking into the boys club. How can she get her ideas out there without coming across as argumentative and hard to work with?

We have a nice little meet-cute in an elevator. Josh casually gives Abby his number as he's got connections then is surprised when her place burns down and she called desperate for help. Right from the start these two are perfect together. They start off building a friendship and once they realize they can help each other it becomes something more. It does take something really drastic to get them to admit their feelings.

This story is not typical in that once they admit what they want things are not so smooth. Their careers seems to be pulling them apart and it felt like they were really starting to drift apart. We get to the HEA ending we want but for whatever reason it didn't seem fully complete to me.

Josh is a movie star looking to change his image so he can possibly branch out into some different movies than what he has been doing. His publicist suggests that maybe he either get married for real or have a fake marriage of convenience. Abby just got her dream job as a script writer and things look like they're going well for her until her apartment catches fire. When she's in the elevator getting out she doesn't have her phone so she uses the emergency phone to call the only number she has Josh's. Josh comes running even though they barely know each other. He takes her to get soup and its the beginning of their friendship. Sparks fly between them but they're slowly building to something more without either really knowing it. Even though she laughs when he asks her to marry him and he explains why he asked. She continues to see him until he finally convinces her. What happens when something that was supposed to be pretend suddenly becomes very real between them? Will Josh end things after the time frame he suggested they stay married?

This is an amazing story that will draw you in to the characters lives. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is memorable love story about Josh, a successful actor that has not has a serious role and Abby, a script writer who lands a job working with a bunch of old men. These two unexpectedly meet in an elevator only to share a great conversation. Abby is faced with her apartment burning down and has nothing but a bag of clothes, she finds Josh’s card and calls him for help and Josh jumps in and goes to help Abby. They hit it off and Josh ends up going after Abby to become his fake wife to help his reputation for better roles and give Abby access to more chances for her work. The humor and genuine unspoken love between them is beautiful and with a car accident while Josh is on set coming home to see Abby pushed Abby to admit her true feelings for Josh and once Josh is out of the woods do they promise to move forward in their marriage for all the right reasons. This is one special love story that you will truly enjoy! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

ONE FANTABULOUS ADVENTURE!!!
Ah snap! Annie blazes the trail, levels the ruts and masters the breeze with this block busting bombshell that fuse this baby together piece by piece. She nailed this bad boy perfectly, keeping me captivated from start to finish. A spinning vortex of inadvertent happenstance catapults your swirling emotions into play fluidly. One gripping storyline and turbulent plot catapults this bad boy to a whole new level. Twixt and twined and put through the wringer blasting this piece of perfection bursting into a tailspin with astonishing impacts. Speculation, drama, tension, intrigue and suspense set the tone for this prize winning delight. The characters personalities are authentic, genuine and realistic with depth and qualities that are well blended and balanced. With 100% on point realism along with amazing scenarios that are so colorfully described its like you're living it with them instead of on the sidelines. Fabulous job Annie, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Josh sexy as h***, with a brain to go with it. Josh is a little frustrated with the work he has been given. He wants to be taken serious, he wants better roles in his acting career. Josh wants them to stop giving him the fluff pieces and he wants a major roll. Abby, writer, just got her first big job. Abby and Josh are comfortable around each other. She inadvertently put herself in the limelight seeking help from Josh. Josh thinking ahead, this could help his career. having a fiance and then wife. Give the tabloids something to talk about. Josh and Abby agree to a pretend marriage but can they maintain it? When sparks fly. Emotions come into play. Will they act on these feelings? What happens when they realize they really need each other for more than their careers? If you want the answer to these questions read the book. This was a great book to read. Great Job Annie.

What happens when pretend turns to real? Josh is super hot movie star stuck is a certain type of role. He wants more serious parts but his publicist says he will need to revamp his image...donate publicly to charity...get a wife....Abby wants to do more than write for a TV show but she knows she has to pay her dues. A meeting with her agent puts her face to face, in a stuck elevator, with Josh. Though she doesn't know him, he calms her down while she staves off a panic attack and gives her his card is in case she ever needs anything. Josh knows she is the perfect person to solve his PR problem, he just has to convince Abby! What starts out as a business arrangement quickly turns real and Abby has to navigate the sometimes nasty world of Hollywood. It takes a near tragedy for them to be able to admit the truth to themselves, and to each other....such a great love story with tons of angst and passion!!!

Abby is a script writer for a television series that is stifling her creativity. Josh is an actor who is well-known, sexy and is tired of playing meaningless scenes. They meet and connect! Josh needs to find a wife that will help his image look more mature and settled to land the roles he wants. He proposes to Abby and she accepts. Only, Josh seems to have the start of real feelings developing for Abby! He finds himself insanely jealous over an ex of hers! As the marriage progresses, Abby is terminated from the series, she blames him and he ends up in a serious car accident. Will he survive? Can they put aside their angst and work on a real marriage…admitting how they really feel? This is a great romance with some chuckles and a steamy scene. I really enjoyed this wonderful and fun read by Annie J. Rose! Pretend Wife is the story of Josh who is a Hollywood actor looking to achieve a more mature reputation so he can get better movie roles. He meets Abby, a TV writer, who later asks him for help when her apartment catches fire. He invites her to his home and when a tabloid reports them together Josh suggests a fake relationship to improve his image and help boost her writing career. Their friendship moves to love and intimacy as they get to know each other better. This well written quick read book has fun banter, an interesting storyline and plot, memorable characters, and an amazing journey to romance. I strongly recommend this great and humorous book.

Pretend Wife is a great story! Josh, the mmc and Abby, the mfc lead us into a fun story filled with laughter, plenty of angst, and some steamy times as well.
Josh finds out what love means with Abby earlier than he admits to her. Abby won’t say it out loud but she, too, falls in love with Josh in what was meant to be just a ‘pretend’ marriage to help Josh’s acting career accelerate into roles more to his liking.
The story is solid and easy to read. The characters are well thought out and very real, very human in their emotions. Sometimes when I read a book, I think to myself “Hurry up. I just want to be done”. Not PRETEND WIFE. Just the opposite. I wasn’t ready for it to end. I enjoyed it and then some. Yep, 7 STARS FROM ME.

Josh is a handsome, very successful 36 year old movie star. Abby is a young script-writer who meets him by accident, and then due to a series of events, starts an affair with him. He wants to redo his image and is led to believe he needs a wife – and Abby agrees to fill the role. The book is about the development of their relationship and their marriage – and all the stress on their life due to their careers. These are both strong, driven characters who are trying to achieve something while learning how important the other is to them – and how that all plays out. It is an enjoyable, fast moving story. Abbey is a screen writer recently hired to work on a dramatic series. Josh is an actor known for his roles as the shirtless moron and is looking to gethe more mature roles. Josh''s agent and publicist advises him to get married to get more serious parts but he has no luck finding a bride. Cue Abbey who, through a series of unfortunate events, proves to be just what he is looking for.

I loved the characters. They were relatable. The story line was great as well although I am not fan of the time jumps. I feel that there were several missed opportunities to add more drama.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I did feel Abby acted too much like a teenager in a first relationship, running hot and cold, getting angry and leaving over stupid things. Josh seemed almost untouchable, but was able to come around. The story was a little fast paced for me. Felt like a whirlwind. It was nice to see everything come to a resolution in the end. It’s worth reading. I gave it three stars since I felt the characters could have been better and had more depth, I did enjoy the storyline though.

The book is cute but the story is in a slow pace. I got that the author want us to feel a development of Abby and Josh's feeling but the title is Pretend Wife so I hope their feeling developes after their fake marriage or something though. And I still have a problem with the author's writing style because their conversations just flow through the chapter without she says or he says and sometimes I was confused... that's why I give this book 4 stars though.

This is the first book that I have read from this author. I really enjoyed the dynamics between Abby and Josh. In this story you have Josh who needs to change his image by becoming more of a family man. In walks Abby and she is just the girl to help him. The humor and steamy sex scenes are great addition to the story. They enter into a deal for a fake marriage, when they each catch feelings but are not sure how to deal with them. If you are looking for a good story with humor then read Pretend Wife by Annie J Rose.

Josh & Abby find true love.

Easy book to read about Josh and Abby who meet in an elevator and through a fire become friends. Josh wants her to be his pretend wife to help him improve his character roles.
They marry and undertake a win win relationship with highs and lows, as they manage their attraction to each other without relaying it to each other.
Josh has a serious car accident that sends Abby running to his side and revealing her love for him, which he also reciprocates.
A good book that leaves you feeling good.

Josh is an actor who wants to get better, mature roles. Abby is a tv writer and together they decide a fake relationship will help them both out with their careers. The more time they spend together the relationship turns from a fake one into a fake marriage then so much more. Their feelings grow for each other but they are both afraid to admit how they feel for each other. Great writing, well developed characters and a sweet love story make this a great read. What do you do when the hottest man gets in a lift with you and seems to really like you...drool...maybe. That’s what happens to Abby when Josh, who happens to be a famous actor meet. Not only that he comes to her rescue.
I really liked Josh, not only a hottie but a thoroughly decent guy. He really did look out for Abby. She didn’t have it easy what with awkward colleagues, home fires and that’s just for starters. A truly brilliant read, loved it

Delightful!
Both being in the movie industry, Abby and Josh understand how things work in Hollywood. She is a writer, and he is an actor known for his obvious sexiness. When he approaches her about getting married for the sake of their careers will she agree? Will it really do anything for their careers? A delightful read that you won’t want to put down until you’ve finished it.

Match made in Hollywood...

Josh and Abby are a match made in Hollywood....by Hollywood. While friendship may have been all these two would have had under normal circumstances, PR and paparazzi create a relationship. Can it be real and survive or is it destined to burnout like the lights of Hollywood? This was an interesting and enjoyable story.

A quick read. This is Abby and Josh's story. They both work in the movie industry. She is a writer. He is the actor. He is trying to get better roles and he needs help to prove that he is a serious, mature actor. They agree to a fake marriage. However, this is Hollywood and there are complications. Will they both get their HEA? The story flows smoothly. The characters have chemistry.

This was an amazing book. I think it's Annie's best work. Josh was so determined and amazing, and Abby was also sweet. I loved this story. Josh is an actor, who wants to get more serious roles. But the problem is, that his agent tells him, that the only way that is going to happen, is if gets married.
Read this book, it one hell of a ride.
