Emma St. James has just turned thirty, the age she lost her mother to cancer, and it’s brought back the feelings of grief, and fears she might be next. Finding out that her mother wanted to organize a 5K race to benefit a good cause but never got the chance gives Emma a way to honor her memory. Now she just needs to be fit into the busy calendar of their nature park. For that she needs the help of the one man who broke her heart prom night, Jack Hershey. Emma’s in luck though, because Jack needs ...more

Small town contemporary romances always get me, and Annie Rains knows how to do it right! This book is a sweet novel full of romance and adorableness. It has two people pretending to be together, and suddenly a romance blooms! Emma and Jack two lovely characters with great chemistry, which makes this story even better.

There is also a fair amount of drama, such as cancer running in a family and parental and family issues. These are some of the subplots and don't really make the story too emotiona

I’m not a fan of second chance romances because usually it’s some bogus misunderstanding that drove the couple apart and a little communication could have helped.

This is wasn’t as bad. While it was clear communication would have helped, Emma St. James and Jack Hershey both needed to grow and heal some wounds before they could fully give their hearts.
Emma and Jack cared for each other in high school but Jack didn’t show up to take her to the Senior Prom and that ended their relationship.

Thank you Read Forever Publishing for my advanced copy ♥️.

Well, that was delightful.
I have been a super fan of Annie’s Sweetwater Springs series. This installment was no different. Except...I don’t know. Jack and Emma might be my favorite couple in SWS 🤔.
These cozy Romance books are the perfect antidote for this world we are living in. Completely deposited me in this charming little town in the North Carolina mountains.
If you are a fan of happily ever after. Check out this series. I assure

is the newest novel in the Sweetwater Springs series by Annie Rains. Each book can be read and enjoy completely on their own but this is such a charming group of friends you end up wanting to read all their happily ever afters.

Emma and Jack have been friends since they were kids. He was there for her when her mom died from cancer and always there to lend a hand. After he stood her up at prom she never lef

I have become familiar enough with her books that I don't even need a blurb to check the box that says I Want It!

Well, Sunshine on Silver Lake is the fifth book in the Sweetwater Spring series. Other than the novellas, I have devoured this book from the very first one, Christmas on Mistletoe Lane

This is the fifth book in the Sweetwater Springs Series. This also includes a bonus novella at the end! I have not read the first four books in the series, but I will be seeking them out! This is actually the first book by this author, but it definitely will not be my last!

I know I say this every single time I review one of the authors books but I’m saying it again, this is hands down my new favorite in the series! This is book five and while you could definitely read it as a standalone, I think you would be missing out if you started here. Every single book is just incredibly charming and by now the characters feel like friends and I love checking in with past couples in each new installment. As you know I do love Annie Rains. Her Sweetwater Springs series has been so good. I've really enjoyed the characters and the writing. Each time I get one of her books in my hand I just want to sit down and do nothing until it's finished.

Who doesn't love a man who keeps Hershey Kisses in his pocket?

Emma has long been fighting her feelings for Jack Hershey, but these two have a hard time avoiding each other when they both live in the small town of Sweetwater Springs. Though fun circumstances, they continue to spend time together, and rekindle the old flames from high school.

I adored this book!

It was a great small town romance, with great characters that dealt with some hard topics (breast cancer, death of a parent and substance abuse) in such a way that worked very well for the overall plot.

I really liked both Emma and Jack and loved that it was a friends to lovers story. This is a perfect summer time read!
I always enjoy time spent at Sweetwater Springs and was very happy to spend it with Emma in Sunshine on Silver Lake. She has continually played a part in this series, although never the center of attention. Always the happy coffee barista and owner, she has been a bright spot when the other characters needed a moment to collect themselves. This time around, the story was all about Emma and I loved that this woman was more than she appeared on the surface.

Emma was entirely relatable and I was sur

‘Sunshine on Silver Lake‘ is the fifth title in the ‘Sweetwater Springs‘ series, and, as always, we are about to set off on a charming, emotional adventure back in one of my favorite fictional small towns.

For a brief time in their teen years, Jack and Emma had a high school romance that ended in heartache. Wrong timing for the most part since both Jack and Emma still have unresolved feelings for each other – not that they would admit to that to anyone but their own in

Emma is one of the core group of friends, natives of the small community of Silver Lake, as well as the owner of the café. She’s a people-pleaser with plenty of worries on her mind, the most recent being her upcoming 30th birthday which makes her the same age as her mother when she was diagnosed with and lost her battle with breast cancer. Adding to the struggle is Emma’s worry over a negative review for the café in the local online forum, and her need to ‘please everyone’ is making her crazy.

This is my first book by Annie Rains and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a super cute romance with a friends to lovers/second chance romance trope. I liked the instant attraction between Jack and Emma. Most importantly, the story highlights the importance of women's health and treatment for addiction.

Overall, cute beach read!

Annie Rains writes a captivating, second chance romance which features café owner Emma St. James and park ranger Jack Hershey. Sunshine on Silver Lake is my favorite book in the Sweetwater Spring series!! I adored the pairing of Emma and Jack! Their long- term friendship, the couple’s easy back and forth banter and the sparks of attraction that filled the air each time Jack gave Emma a Hershey’s Kiss drew me immediately into the novel.

Sunshine on Silver Lake was a cute story, and I can definitely see why readers like it. It’s got so many elements of a good romance story, including a small lovely town, a worthy cause, fun friendly, good-hearted characters and a solid friends to lovers trope.

Despite that, this story just wasn’t for me, and I think I’m finding that I’m just not a fan of most of these serial romance books. In these series, many of the decisions the characters make seem to be unrealistic and entirely avo

When I pick up a Sweetwater Springs book written by Annie Rains, I know I'm about to be immersed in a well-written story, with likable characters, set within a vibrant and supportive community, and laced with both humor and heart.

There are so many layers to Emma and Jack's story, all expertly interwoven into a modern tapestry of second chances, forgiveness, hope, acceptance, love, and happily ever afters. I really pulled for these two to find their happiness and they had more than a few signifi

Annie Rains has done it again! I have been enjoying her Sweetwater Springs books. This storyline did double duty as it was a friends to lovers story, but also a fake relationship story. I loved how Sam and Jack's sister were woven in. My favorite romance books are books that aren't just romance, and Annie Rains nails this every time!!

Heading back to Sweetwater Springs is like heading home. It has been one of my favourite series these past couple of years.

I have been looking forward to cafe owner Emma's story - though I do end up craving baked goodies as I read.

Whilst I like Sunshine on Silver Lake, it wasn't my favourite story in the series. I liked Jack and I liked Emma, I just didn't get drawn into their romance. I got irritated at Emma for about the first 35% of the story, th

Well this was absolutely adorable second chance romance. I love a good fake relationship, expecially when caring for kids are involved, and this one did not disappoint. I am so happy I picked this one up and I would definitely recommend it! Thank you to Forever Pub for an early copy!

Sunshine on Silver Lake is a book that just makes me smile. I had all of the feelings while reading this book, but in the end, it is an awesome friends-to-lovers romance.

Emma St. James owns the Sweetwater Cafe and has decided to plan a 5K in her mother's memory. Knowing that she's going to need help to pull it off, she asks the one person in her life who she knows has some pull with getting her a spot on the activities calendar at the National Park, her friend Jack. This was another great book by Annie Rains that just warms your heart and makes you smile. It is a mix of friends to lovers and second chance tropes. Emma and Jack had a chance to get more than friendship from their relationship when they were younger, but a wrench was thrown into the works and they were back to friends before anything could even develop. They were then friends for years until a small fib to Jack's sister threw them together as a couple. Will anything happen this time.

I had been waiting for Emma's story! I love a good coffee shop and I love a friends to lovers story. I am so glad I got to read and review this book. Readers cannot help but be charmed by Annie Rains’ latest enchanting and delightful small town romance, Sunshine on Silver Lake.

Emma St James and Jack Hershey have been friends since practically the cradle. But that is all they have ever been to one another. In high school, Emma had thought that their friendship might develop into something deeper when Jack had asked her to be his date for prom, but when he stood her up at the eleventh hour, Emma had decided not to act upon her feelings for him.
