‘Leatherback & The Strange Place’ by Shubhra Shah is a book that revolves around Leatherback and her friends. So, Leatherback is Tanya’s pet turtle and she is 100 years old but Tanya thinks herself as her mother. Leatherback is everyone’s favourite and one day Tanya has a competition to attend but the problem is that pets are not allowed. Leatherback and The Strange Place is a mindful and thoughtful children's book. It includes poems, activities, difficult words with meaning, interesting animal facts, and beautiful illustrations.

The story is about Leatherback, the tortoise, and his friends Queenie the cat, Loro the parrot, and Hedgy, the guinea pig. They want to find out who kidnapped Lolita. She is the mother of Sara and Neel, the per owners of Queenie and Loro.

We live in a a world where villains exist, but superheroes don't.
We have to be our own heroes at the end of the day.

I always believe that only children's book has that power who always gives us some teachings and a new perception to looking at this book has it all, it is not something regular fairytale but this book teaches us to stand up for yourself, no super hero or any Prince Charming coming to save you from this bullying people.

The story of the book is very interesting to read and narrated in simple and lucid English. The narration style made the story easy to understand for children. Yes, it’s true that in some places she made use of some unknown or difficult words. But she did a wonderful job by sharing the meaning of those words in the book itself. It should not have been named Leatherback and the Strange Place rather it should have been named Leatherback and the Revenge. All the stories are based somehow on revenge and all characters have been wronged somewhere. Yet, all the stories are quite interesting to read.

The inclusion of puzzels, sketches, etc. after every chapter and also in-between the chapters makes the reading more interesting and entertaining. It also helps the reader remember events in the story. They make the whole book a
