I found this book to be interesting and able to hold my interest. Getting to know the characters and what was going on in their lives kept me anxious to read and find out what was going to happen next. It was exciting to read how God works in our everyday lives and guides and protects us in situations, trials and tribulations. It shows that we all have problems and trials but we can trust and follow the guidance the Holy Spirit. Overall, this books tells a story of everyday human beings who go through trials and suffering, but by trusting the leading and guidance of the Spirit of God they come through those trials and live as examples of God’s love and protection.

If you love family drama in a Christian setting then this book is for you. A pastoral couple, Ed and Janice Hird, who have led marriage and renewal conferences around the globe, write BLUE SKY. Ed and Janice understand family dynamics and bring their Blue Sky drama to life in this Spokane city setting. This book draws you into the family, but also into the redemptive and loving character of God during life’s difficult places. If you love Karen Kingsbury’s books, you’ll want to read about the ups and downs of the Brown clan.

Blue Sky was a good read. The story is of a family with a father who is a pastor, his wife, and their four children. Along with a cast of other characters, they begin experiencing problems. Past trauma, a robbery, an affair, bullies, fights, school challenges, children being stalked, police work, assaults, and a few really bad people combine to bring the story to life. Just when everything seems to fall into place, more trouble happens. The story and character are easy to follow. I like how the faith story is woven into their everyday lives.
