Fifties Source Book: A Visual Guide To The Style Of A Decade

Rate this book
The best, the most influential, and the most evocative of Fifties design, fashion, architecture, and art. The range of sources reflects the paradoxes of the time: the purity of Italian design and Modernist architecture contrasts with the brashness of "jukeboxes on wheels"—the products of the American automobile industry.

Over 300 illustrations make up a panorama of the decade, including stylish cars, art movies, TV personalities, suburban homes, and rock 'n' roll.

For students of design and nostalgia, whether or not they are old enough to remember the decade themselves.
