🌟 Wish Bear’s Review of Care Bears: Wish Bear’s Promise by Sonia Sander & Jay Johnson

Oh my stars... this book made me feel all kinds of feelings. 💫

As a bear who believes in the magic of wishes and the power of friendship, reading about me—or a version of me—not being the best friend to Twinkers was really tough. I wanted to help, truly I did! But sometimes, even the best intentions can go a little sideways when we don’t stop to listen. I was so focused on doing something helpful that I forgot to ask what my friends actually needed. That’s not very caring of me, is it?

I must admit... wishing for popcorn was deliciously tempting (who doesn’t love a good snack?), but maybe I should’ve just popped it myself. Less mess, more love. 🍿💙

What warmed my heart most was how my friends—especially Grumpy Bear—stepped up when I didn’t. His rocket rescue was out-of-this-world amazing 🚀, and Twinkers? Twinkers forgave me. That’s the kind of sparkle that makes friendship shine brightest.

This story reminded me that being a good friend isn’t about grand gestures or magical fixes—it’s about listening, showing up, and sometimes just being there with a hug and a smile. I’m learning, and I’m grateful.

✨Final Thought: Wishes are wonderful, but friendship is the real magic.✨

This is the third or fourth 'Care Bears' books I've read to my 2 year old granddaughter. And I love that my childhood favorite toy is now in book form, the idea behind the stories are great but the writing themselves just don't have that pleasant flow for me.
