My new favorite crafting book. Theresa Lawson does a truly admirable job of laying out how to approach a complex project and gives the reader every tool they need to succeed and take joy in their work.
Oh my goodness, could there be a better book on achieving a perfect artwork? No, there could not. This is fantastic. I would say you probably need some embroidery skills in order to pull off the project, but maybe not if you have good fine motor skills. I am super excited to tackle this project. I would not say I am an expert embroiderer, but an advanced intermediate to lower expert. I have been stitching for about 30 years and once stitched models of cross stitch for a designer. That being said, the tips and techniques here seem easy to follow and the steps to complete your work are very detailed and things are mentioned that I would have not thought of had I been creating this project on my own. I am super excited to start this one.
This embroidery book is one I know I’m going to return to again and again. It’s aesthetically beautiful and articulately written. Theresa is intuitive in her instructions, foreseeing questions of skill that might arise for a very beginner as well as explaining technical intricacies that even lifelong embroiderers will enjoy.
The best things about this book are the examples that accompany the written guidance. Theresa provides very detailed guidance, nothing is left out. She takes a step-by-step approach to ensure success. She also provides lots of tips in an attempt to avoid difficulties along the way.
This book is so wonderful! Anyone interested in embroidery should pick this up. Even if house aren't your thing, you're gonna love this. There are so many creative techniques, useful tips & tricks, and inspiring projects. This is easily one of the best embroidery books I've seen.
