Other than summer jobs as a teenager, I have always been in business for myself. I have owned businesses that included: residential and commercial construction; brokering and trading commodities; owning and operating multiple insurance agencies; horse breeding, syndicating, training and racing; dog breeding and field trialing; owning and operating multiple gyms; owning and operating oil wells; brokering, researching title and consulting (regarding the buying and selling of oil and gas properties); as well as brokering and facilitating international fuel purchases.
I have traveled extensively outside the continental United States including Switzerland, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Belize, Caribbean Islands, Alaska and Hawaii.
I am happily married with four adult children, each successful in their own right.
My wife and I served in the ministry by founding, building and operating a children's home.
I authored my first book, American Entrepreneur: An Autobiography, at the urging of family and friends. My second book is, Life Begins at Sunrise: An Inspiring Story of Love, God, Bird Dogs, Walking Horses and Field Trials. I have just completed my third book, The Legend of Jake Jackson: The Last of the Great Gunfighters and Comanche Warriors.
While I had written numerous sports articles for local newspapers, I didn't think I had the patience to write a book. I found that the more I wrote, the more I like it.

The Many Adventures Of Jake Jackson
A well written novel consisting of several different episodes in the life of Jake Jackson. Plenty of action, shootouts, and a little romance. Would definitely recommend it.

Proof Reading
I love westerns, and Jake Jackson is a true western hero. Who does the proof reading? I know spell check helps but there were too many errors. It disrupts my reading.

Jake is definitely a man to be reckoned with, and doesn't bad down from anyone,or any challenge. Anne and Burk are the perfect couple to support the many exciting adventures of Jake, during his endeavors of taming the area surrounding their successful ranch. Fast and furious story from beginning to end.
Another outstanding five star western adventure masterpiece by Mr. Joiner. Wasn't a slow down from beginning to end, and the bad guys were never really aware of what they were getting into before it was too late to back out. One exciting episode after the other, from beginning to end.
Great storylines, and ongoing western folklore adventures after the other throughout this compelling masterpiece of heartwarming experiences. The character selections could not have been any better, as each individual perfectly displayed their assignments with exceptionally entertaining revelations of ongoing excursions of outstanding accomplishments.
Definitely recommend this compassionate western folklore adventure to all of you western addicted readers, and even you non-western enthusiasts will find this heartwarming story full of ongoing gunplay, with a little romance scattered throughout the entire book. Your choice, but definitely your loss, if you fail to enjoy Jake and his crew through their many outstanding accomplishments. Try it, as you will love it!

What hose men did not know was they had been introduced to their killer and mortician who has a unique talent of ending their lives of criminals and insane criminals. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Violence and Gore
I read book one just to finish it. Wanted to know how it ended. Wasn't pleased with all the excessive violence. Did not finish this book not will I. Book one Jake was justified in what he did to those who murdered his wife and son. This book is nothing more than a series of short violent stories. So I just scrolled head to be done with it. :(

Good book
This book is about the exploits of Jake , it contains numerous tales of his adventures and life on the frontier. It may seem to be a little disjointed , but it's a good read.

Bloody, violent writing. I read three stories, each ended with scalping and torture. These are not to my liking of old fashioned western writing. Not for the faint of heart. Also, the author uses the same phrases off an over. These books need a GOOD editor!!
