Peculiar Mysteries #5.5

My Thanksgiving Faux Paw

For this secret shifter town in the Ozarks, holidays have never been normal… Human psychic Sunny Haddock has everything she's ever wanted: a stable home, a loving husband, two kids, and great friends. Granted, everyone she knows (and has birthed) is on the furry side, but so what?

Weird is wonderful, especially in this wacky little place she calls home.

But when a young man shows up on her doorstep claiming to be her long lost brother, his presence provokes a psychic walk down memory lane, challenging Sunny's ideas about herself and her future. Throw in exploding turkeys, time-traveling visions, and a twenty-year-old mystery… and you have a Thanksgiving that’s gonna be downright Peculiar.

Peculiar Mysteries series from USA Today bestselling author Renee George are laugh-out-loud, grip the edge of your seat, and swoon as you fall in love tales of mystery, humor, and romance that take place in the small (fictional, not the actual) Ozark shifter town of Peculiar, Missouri.

About Renee:
USA Today Bestselling author Renee George writes paranormal mysteries and romances because she loves all things whodunit, Otherworldly, and weird. Also, she wishes her pittie, the adorable Kona Princess Warrior, and her beagle, Josie the Incontinent Princess, could talk. Or at least be more like Scooby-Doo and help her unmask villains at the haunted house up the street.

When she’s not writing about mystery-solving werecougars or the adventures of a hapless psychic living among shapeshifters, she is preyed upon by stray kittens who end up living in her house because she can't say no to those sweet, furry faces. (Someone stop telling them where she lives!)

She resides in Mid-Missouri with her family and spends her non-writing time doing really cool stuff...like watching TV and cleaning up dog poop.

Sunny had left behind a past she considered sad and not worthy to remember but when an unknown brother arrived strong and buried emotions resurfaced. Sunny had forgotten some important things that needed to be bring forth. Liked Jack character so much! A touching story for the season with laughs, family, surprises, strong emotions and love. A lovely addition to Peculiar Mysteries series.

My Thanksgiving Faux Paw
Peculiar Mysteries Book 10
Author: Renee George

Renee provided this ARC to me for free, with the option of reviewing if I wished, but no obligation to do so.
I’ve also bought the book on kindle.
Why?
Because I love Renee George, and I’m addicted to this series.
From the second I read book one - You’ve Got Tail - I was in love with psychic Sunny Haddock and her sexy coyote-shifter husband Babel - younger brother of Chav.
In the first book, Sunny left California behind to start a new life in the Ozark town of Peculiar with her best friend Chavvah Trimmel. Who promptly disappeared.
Searching for her, is what brought Sunny together with her husband, spawned two cute kids, and has her running a restaurant in Peculiar.
Now though, she has to fight one of her toughest battles yet - Thanksgiving with a bat-shit crazy town and family.
Especially as her long lost ‘brother’ Jack has turned up, needing her help.
He too, is psychic, and recently found out Sunny existed.
This is a short, sweet story - this time without psycho killers or weirdos, unless you count this family, and sees an emotional time as a Sunny deals with the idea that the parents she left behind aren’t as awful as she remembers.
It’s a great little book, and gives readers a delightful insight into the residents of Peculiar, and starts a new story arc.
Fun, funny, sad and ultimately rewarding, I really enjoyed this Thanksgiving with Sunny et al.

A Thanksgiving nugget of fun and surprises for Sunny and her friends and family.

Unless this is your first enjoyable walk into Peculiar's little southern town of Shifters only (well, there is Sunny) you'll enjoy seeing the husbands' antics entertain the wives until one of them takes things in hand for the protection of all. And that's just the beginning.

Sunny is in for a surprise she isn't sure to be thankful for or run him out of town. Her brother. The one she doesn't know she has! Will his arrival change her life for better or worse? Whatever happens, you can be sure she'll have the support of her friends and family.

Even though this is book 10 in the series you can enjoy it alone but warning, you will want to read more about this amazing town and group.

When Sunny walked away from her dysfunctional family to find true love, children, friends and a life she had always wished for in Peculiar a town of shifters although Sunny is a visionary, she is surprised by a stranger on her doorstep. The sheriff brings a strange young man to her house saying he claims to be Sunny's brother. When Sunny walked away, there was no brother, so who is this stranger and is he really related to Sunny? This series is fun with lots of laughs and mystery. It is an unusual story that brings you to a good end. A must read addition to the Peculiar Mystery series. I can't wait to see what will happen next in this series! I received and ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Holidays in peculiar
Sunny Haddock is a psychic and human but she is mated to a shifter named Babe he is also the mayor of Peculiar and they have two kids. Her BFF is also her mates sister. Chavvah and she is mated to the town doctor Billy Bob and the have a son. Rory. Everyone in town knows everyone and it's one crazy normal shifter town until a stranger shows up at the police department asking to see sunshine Haddock. Saying he is her brother only as far as she knows. She doesn't have one hmmmm. crazy right?
As always this is a fun read with awesome characters. I love to read how they all interact together. It makes for a fun story. So if you have been following this series you have get this one.
Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it

I really wanted to sleep, so I should not have started this book after finishing the one I had read. I should have went to sleep and saved it until the morning. But I didn't, so I was awake until I finished it. This is a sweet book. Sunny has a look into her past (childhood) and realizes that things weren't exactly as she remembered them. Although it may not have been all sunshine and roses, it wasn't as bad as she always thought it was. She also realized that she wasn't exactly always nice as a teenager. This isn't a really long book, but it packs a lot into it. Once again Renee George crafts an interesting and hard to put down story. I highly recommend reading this book!

Sunny meets a piece of her family she didn’t know she had.

Suddenly discovering grandparents, grown up versions of the folks you knew, along with extended kin can be very frustrating.

It can also be rewarding, at least in small doses.

Luckily for Sunny, she grew into the family she found along with the family she built. Her BFFs, her kids, and the extended family of her husband will be there for her, no matter what.

A little family and self reflection and some funny and some sweet moments.

A nice new Thanksgiving tradition!

It was great learning more about Sunny's past. When the reader was first introduced to Sunny she was an adult that had a difficult childhood but manage to survive.

You will be able to find out what has been happening in Peculiar over the last few years and catch up on some favorite characters.

I will give you a hint the past will may not be what you believe and will give you a hint about some of your own memories.

Always love my reading visit to Peculiar and out about new and old friends.

That was a great short story!!! Love the reconnecting and newness Sunny has in learning about what happened to her parents after she left them! We all live in one universe as we grow and when we move out n start our own life our memories and perceptions of what happened "back then" truly does change as the years go by! Love that Sunny got the chance to reconnect with her parents and learn about a family she never new she had!
Thank you for this touching story at a time when we all need a lil reminder of the stuff we might want to reconsider and be thankful for!!!

Thanksgiving is here and everyone is celebrating together in Peculiar. The Sheriff interrupts the celebration by claiming Sunny’s brother is there to see her; she does not have a brother though~ When the Sheriff brings him around, Sunny sees the resemblance and truly finds out he is her brother…they share a gift. Come to find out, she has other family and her parents are totally different. The news he brings is not good and Sunny will have to make one of the hardest decisions of her life. What will she do?

It’s Thanksgiving with Sunny, her husband and two kids plus her friends. Seems like a typical holiday but looks can be deceiving.

But things are not as tranquil as it seems for long. Sunny receives a knock on the door from a strange who claims to be her long lost brother. Psychic visions of past memories are focus of what might have been.

Throw in some exploding turkeys into the mix as things heat up in Peculiar. A fun read.

Humor infused short that is certain to please, take some time to visit the quirky and fun characters in Peculiar. No spoilers, but this much you need to know: You will be laughing out loud as the story/mystery unfolds in this unputdownable page-turner! And if you haven't read any of the others in this amazing/amusing series, this book will certainly make you want to. I requested an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I delight in returning to this world thanks to this series. Novel too is that this is Thanksgiving too. Sunny though has her world turned upside down with and doors opened that were thought to be sealed. This one really gets you grinning but also catches your interest. The mystery the brother provokes is one that keeps the pages turning. This is a fun one to thanks to the holiday with it being a nice change too.

Loved the characters + the storytelling !

Sunny has resented her parents (and upbringing) for years. When an unexpected, and unknown, younger brother shows up on Thanksgiving, his special talents help Sunny to realize things may not have been as they seemed...and that she has alot to be thankful for.

I love all the characters in this series. They are fun and interesting.

By far the best in the Peculiar series! A lot of family, a lot of baggage, a lot of weird, and a whole lot of love – pass the pie! The story is an endearing quick read that brings heartfelt moments of family to warm you. Remember that embarrassing time.. Ya that one, the one that made it a special holiday. It’s all here for you to grab on to.

Happy Thanksgiving

This was such a sweet story of Sunny’s past, present, & future. Sometimes a psychic needs a little help seeing things the right way. Enjoy

A BIG Thank You to Renee George for giving the readers a story that gives info on Sunny that I’m sure many (like me) have wondered about. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

A little short story. Lots of names thrown at you right from the start. It took a bit to figure out who was who. An unknown brother some psychic visions a messed up family getting together in the end. Because the mother needed a bone marrow donor?? Maybe this doesn’t make much sense because I haven’t read any of the previous books. This was a free novelette.

Sunny certainly doesn’t lead a boring life. Having an unknown younger brother show up out of the blue in the middle of her Thanksgiving party throws her for a loop and forces her to re-examine her childhood memories. By the end, she has learned how much she has to be thankful for.
