Let sleeping dogs lie... Don't stir up the past. Especially when that past is an ancient, feral vampire sleeping at the bottom of an aged cobblestone well, one who is famished for blood, determined to claim you, and haunted by mystical shadows...remnants from the past.
Long ago, in a Romanian castle, the last females of a dying race called him Nanaşule. Godfather. One who wields the powers of the gods, yet behaves as Father, one who is both respected and beloved...at least before the Blood Curse.
One who hails from a long line of powerful mages who served the monarchy faithfully.
But something is different about Fabian Antonescu. He is haunted by visions of a golden hawk and a copper-eyed raven--cryptic vials of blood--and he will do anything to remain one step ahead of his memories. For the secrets shrouded in the fog could change everything.
Gwendolyn Hamilton, as strong as she is, has already survived the unthinkable. She didn't ask to be thrust into a predatory world of vampires, warriors, and ancient mages. She didn't ask to be taken by Fabian.
Yet one touch of a stone, one electrical current, one fateful moment when a vampire's eyes met hers were more than enough to set off an explosion -- and cause a thunderous BLOOD ECHO.
If she hopes to survive, she must answer back...
To the call of the wild ~ to a savage vampire. To the demands of antiquity in a modern world. To the threat and promise of a looming Blood Moon ~ and the destiny that awaits her.

Tessa Dawn grew up in Colorado, where she developed a deep affinity for the Rocky Mountains. After graduating with a degree in psychology, she worked for several years in criminal justice and mental health before returning to get her master’s degree in nonprofit management.
Tessa began writing as a child and composed her first full-length novel at the age of eleven. By the time she graduated high-school, she had a banker’s box full of short-stories and novels. Since then, she has published works as diverse as poetry, greeting cards, workbooks for kids with autism, and academic curricula. Her Dark Fantasy/Gothic Romance novels represent her long-desired return to her creative-writing roots and her passionate flair for storytelling.
Tessa currently splits her time between the Colorado suburbs and mountains with her two children and “one very crazy cat.” She hopes to one day move to the country where she can own horses and what she considers “the most beautiful creature ever created” -- a German Shepherd.
Ooooooooh, I laughed so much with this book. Seriously, a Neanderthal wizard who has been sleeping for many centuries waking up in the 21st century was hilarious in a lot of scenes.
It was so good to see more of the king and the other characters. The main characters were hilarious with their differences and can Salvatore die already? It is a kill I am looking forward to reading lol.
If I could possibly give this book more than 5 stars, I would. I loved ever single page of this story. That doesn’t happen everyday. The Blood Curse series is simply amazing and now I have to wait for the next book. Ugh! Hopefully Tessa Dawn writes fast.
Gwen Hamilton has no idea that her life was about to change. Her blood called to an ancient Vampire that has been asleep at the bottom of a well. She has no clue about the curse or about the mating. How is she supposed to fall in love with someone who demands her blood, demands her love, and demands her soul? A nightmare from the beginning, she is not prepared to be or to fulfill her duties as a Destiny.
Fabian Antonescu has been asleep for hundreds of years. Vowing to protect the Ancient Princess’s from certain death, he made sure they were tucked away in their slumber and did the same for himself. Her blood awakened him and feeling her near, he took what was his. A language barrier makes it difficult for him to communicate with his Destiny, but the Blood Moon is upon them and time is of the essence.
The Good: As always, Eric G Dove brought such life to this story with his narration. I could not stop listening. The Bad: This Series has broken my heart yet again, with the Destinies being oblivious to the curse and how their lives have to change in such a short time. The Ugly: The Dark Ones and their deviousness. Always plotting and planning to destroy the happiness within the House of Jadon
I thoroughly enjoyed this next book in the series. So much angst, drama, and of course steamy sex. I was so unsure of Fabian in the beginning and my heart broke for him when he had to deal with the reality of it being so many years since he awakened. Tessa Dawn has once again brought Dark Moon Vale to life and gave a story of hope for love to prevail. My emotional grid while listening was off the charts and the prologue has me itching for more. I need the next book right now. A Solid 5 Stars!
I anxiously awaited this book for a long time. It opens strong but midway it starts to fizzle a bit. The ending was a bit anticlimactic for me as I was looking for so much more. That being said, I still loved the book. Fabian's character was interesting and his powers were unquestionable. As a couple, he and Gwen fit well together. Gwen though frightened was not whiney. The back story was packed full of info and answered questions I had from previous books. There was action but less romance than previous books. I would have to say, all in all, this book is a setup for what is to come in the next book. Now that book is really going to be something to look forward to. I am giving this one four stars just because of all the questions I had that got answered and the wealth of info in the back story. The story line/plot was good, Fabian and Gwen were great characters, great dialog, a bit of action and everything went smoothly. I guess I over anticipated this one but it was still good all the same. Now all I need is the audio version so I can hear Eric G. Dove read it to me. It will be a five star book then.
I absolutely love this book. Wild, exciting, and filled with mystery, love, and loyalty. I always know that I'm going to read a great book when I get one by Tessa Dawn and this was no exception!
First of all, I love the cover. Secondly, I loved the book. Third, I love Gwen and Fabian. He was completely different from all the others in all the other books, having been buried deep in a well for thousands of years. It was a great story where he went from a mad vampire, lost in a “fog,” to one of a tamed and wonderful vampire. And, oddly enough, it took Gwen almost the entire book to come to care for Fabian. No insta-love here.
The worst part, or the best, depending on how you look at it, was what he did to Paul McNeil. Ewww.
There was explicit sex in this, and the F-bomb was used 17 times.
As to the narration: Doesn’t get much better than Eric G. Dove.
I loved it, as always. I love how we got a much deeper story, combining the very ancient past with the present and the storyline with the two princes that no one knows what the hell happened them coming into play, fantastic. There's a bit going on these days, especially in the last couple books. I'm so curious to see what happens during the Harvest. I despise the Dark Ones, they are so evil, but necessary for the storyline. Tessa Dawn's outdid herself in this one.
I am a big fan of this series and will always run immediately to get the newest book in the series each time there is a new release. This book however, was a bit of a miss for me. Did I hate it? No. Not even a little bit. But...it was just missing something that I am trying desperately to put my finger on. The beginning was actually a bit confusing to me and then the build up of the relationship between Gwen and Fabian just seemed to be missing something. The whole thing just felt off. Now, there was still the inclusion of a lot of my favorite characters and past couples and to me, that is always one of the best things about loving and immersing yourself in a series. Being able to pop back into that world and take a peak at seeing how everyone you've grown to adore is doing.
More than anything, I think this book was a set up for the next book in which with all of the clues and bits of information dropped so far is promising to be a doozy. But, as you can see - I still gave it 4 stars because I love the world that Tessa has created and it is always like snuggling under a fluffy, comfy blanket to see the latest happenings in the Vale.
This is a MUST READ BOOK, I'm only 26% into the story and my heart and stomach have that I can't wait flutter. Tessa Dawn is a witch in her mastery of story telling. I should be cleaning my home but I can't put this book down and my brain is telling me to get out of this review and finish reading the darn book. The brain won, I'll be back when I'm done.
This book starts off like a block buster movie as you can see by my earlier review. 100% a what's going to happen next type book. Her best book to me by far, but about 66% into it it dries up and then she leaves us with a cliff hanger which personally I hate. At 66% I realized I really didn't remember how Gwen came to be in DMV so it was hard to understand the HEA. I guess traumatized by a good guy doesn't fly with me. (NOTE: It hurts my heart not to have a glowing and completely tanned out review for a Tessa Dawn book, I feel like a traitor.)
Despite my own personal dislikes this book is worth it's purchase just for the first 66% of the story....what a ride and well worth the 5 stars. Hopefully the next book won't have a cliff hanger, cause in the end I didn't give a crap about who shot JR, or if the white walkers made it into the north. I'm not a patient person and this series didn't need a cliffhanger, I'm all about this storyline anyway.
I have looked forward to the next novel in the blood curse series, and Blood Echo did not disappointe. I do wish I had taken the time to read the whole series again, as key facts stated earlier in the series are not repeated. So there were a few moments of head scratching as I tried to remember details. Very enjoyable story. There were a few spots that the main characters were told some major information, but gave no reaction for several chapters. Like when Gwen learned what fulfilling the blood curse would entail. Just thought she would react more to the baby, sacrifice, and fast pregnancy aspects. Not needed really, but seemed a little odd to not find. The love scene gets started in a hot tub, very intense, but sadly interrupted. So when they finally do come together, it seemed a little anticlimactic. Still a great story and a welcome addition to an awesome series. Really sets things up for the next one. Blood Harvest is going to be a good one.
I love this series! It's so good. Excellent narration by Eric G. Dove (audible review)
There are great characters, stories, dialogue and action. There was some LOL moments in this book as Fabian was 2800 years + old and didn't quite understand the new generation. Gwen was great too, and funny explaining Fabian.
If you haven't read this series you are missing out.
I am very excited this book left us with a teaser for Braden's story so it is not the end. YAY
As for the narration, it was great. I love Eric G. Dove, he does such a great job on the voices, especially the female voices. He has a great reading voice too.
Once again Tessa Dawn astounds and captivates her readers with another thrilling installment in her Blood Curse series with Blood Echo. The imagination Ms. Dawn has is truly extraordinary and she leaves you wanting more! When an author can spin such a web of stories that has you on the edge of your seat, that you see what the characters see, you feel what they feel, you become a part of the Dark Moon Vale community then you know you are in for the ride of your life! These books are not to be missed!
I absolutely loved Blood Echo!! It was so exciting and hot!! It had a ton of Dark Moon Vales couples in it with more than one sentence!! I absolutely love this series and I honestly think it has gotten even better as the books go on. The build up for the next one is great, I can not wait to see what's going to happen!!! I hope it doesn't take to long for it to come out. I have a top 5 list of writers and Tessa Dawn is in the top of that list. I think this one was more toned down on the sex but it was still hot. I loved it!!!
I loved this book the 11th offering in this wonderful series.. I gave it a five plus. It was really that good. The storyline was tight, and the characters were all fleshed out, and interesting. The magic went up a,notch in this one, since the high Mage, who is the eldest resident , finds a mate, and his place in the house of Jadon. It held my attention from the first page through the end. It had a lot of emotion, courage, loyalty, and love as well. We also got a better look at how far the king would go to save one of its greatest legends surrounded by nightmares, and fog.
No words can say just how much I loved this newest addition to the Blood Curse series. The characters as always are truly fantastic AND mouth watering. : - ) I definitely enjoyed the story line. It was an attention grabber right from the start. Tessa Dawn makes ever character come alive and you just can't get enough of them. I'm going to be impatiently awaiting the next in this series. Soon, soon, soon???? I hope!!!!
Another outstanding book, infact every book u write about the Dark vale vampires saga gets better and better, more interweaving stories and characters..a writer of brilliant imagination...You make the reader feel that they are actually in the story .... can’t wait for the next....
Strongly written for a world full of imaginations! The continuing saga of the battle btw the house of Jadon and Jaeger. Super strong ancient alpha with a strong minded heroine. She is smart and quick on her feet. He needs to get along in a world 2,800 yrs past him. Love it and love this series
Nice continuation of the series. I think this book moved a little slower than others but still a good storyline. Anxiously awaiting the showdown or not. Can't wait for the next book in the series. I hope that bit comes soon because when there is a lag in publications, some of the original story gets lost
Oh my what can I say this book was phenomenal. Tessa writes so good. The description of the characters and the feelings mixed in almost feels as if you are eight there with them. I cannot wait to see what will happen next. The scenery with the trees is very impressive.
Another hit from Tessa Dawn. The emotions and intrigue was as usual a roller coaster. So excited to see how the new revelations about Braden and Achilles works out.
Excellent book. It is definitely exciting and so full of interesting twists one right after another. It's so good I have already read it twice in the same week. Intriguing, Exciting and definitely deserves more than five stars.
