Easy motivational book to read. Essentially if you care about people around you they will care about you. It is written in a novel form in which Katie a Human Resources manager about to be fired who everyone avoids and doesn’t like.
A radio self help host gives her three steps to succeed.
Winning them over Blowing them away Keeping them revved
It works with morale and productivity improving dramatically. Look out for number two is really taking care of number one. Active listening, saying positive and nice things to people, smiling, actively engaging with people, expressions of appreciation and staying positive. All common sense things but something many of us forget to do in our busy lives.
Revved! is a book on self-management and motivation. Written like a novel, it is the story of Katie who falls from grace in her career due to personal tragedies. The book discusses how Katie reinvigorated her team and inspired them to support you, work harder and accomplish more.
The book’s language is simple and there are no profound philosophies shared. However, the lessons are universally applicable. In my opinion, the best part of the book is the inclusion of lots of catchphrases/slogans, e.g., nice managers get nice results, give credit to others and don’t let 10 seconds ruin your day.
REVVED! – is a three-step program that illustrates how to capitalize on the positive results that come from people.
Three levels of caring are put forth in the book. WIN THEM OVER: Listen to people and thank them for their input. When people know you care, they're eager to that extra mile. BLOW THEM AWAY: Recognize and reward people. By rewarding people, you’ll motivate them to do more and better. KEEP THEM REVVED: Keep people excited by maintaining positive, honest relationships with everyone you encounter.
A quick read and pretty decent motivational book. It is about the fact that if you want others to care about you, you first have to care about them. Sometimes these books make me feel a little icky, for they seem manipulative, but step three helps take it beyond that. It makes this a lifestyle, not just a way to to get others to help you out. So that makes it a decent read.
one of the first motivational books that I read. was a crisp book. loved the book. easy to read, simple techniques to follow. Would be ideal for a person who does not have an habit of reading.
The beauty of the book is its simplicity, it reaffirms the things which we have long forgotten. Written in the form of a novel. Have read this book multiple times. Hard to find this book now, have searched in a few bookstores. Am surprised that it is not amongst the bestsellers.
Literally everything you need to know about the book is on the dust cover. Be kind and upbeat, be over the top and creative in your thanks, and do it forever.
Also, why is a business book story ending in romance?

Rather simplistic business fable. I could have done without the faux love story at the end. It was unnecessary and made it seem as if to feel complete in business the woman has to fall in love.
