He’s the only man my father can trust when the cartel attempts to take us out. A vicious motorcycle gang member, he’s deadly with his fists and firearms.
He’s also the bastard responsible for my mother’s death.
I’m the one who’ll make him pay. A too-young, too-innocent woman he lusts after but refuses to touch.
He might believe he’s strong enough to withstand my plans for retaliation, but I will bring him to his knees and have my revenge.
Spicy romance author Lynn Burke believes everyone deserves healing and a happily ever after. She loves writing hot, inclusive stories of various pairings or triplings and creates characters who will steal your heart.
She is a USA Today Bestselling author, a wrangler of her three spawn, and a farmer's daughter who grows organic food. To escape reality, she hides in a quiet corner with her nose in a book.
DNF 29% She’s 20 going on 15. He’s a grown man who’s hormones are running the show. I don’t really care enough for either of these characters to keep going and see how it pans out. This was free so…🤷♀️
What a book! First by this author but certainly not the last as I’ve already purchased the next ones in the series. Fast paced, action packed all the way through. I’ve missed reading a good MC story with grit and action to it, this had it all and more. Great character development and good depth to them, even the club brothers. Loved the angst between Warden and Shaun, both not wanting to admit the attraction between them what with the age difference but also the history between them. Some gruesome scenes but that adds to the story and certainly not out of place. A very good read and I’m looking forward to the others.
Wow ! An action packed story from beginning to end with a hot sexy alpha who is a little bit dark and dangerous. This story was Hot ! like fanning hot !
The story drew you right in and we instantly loved Warden's character with his alpha ways, dirty talk ,possessive nature and perhaps that he was even a little bit broken as his past continues to haunt him.
Shaun and Drew aka Warden's chemistry was hot and I have to say that the love/lust/hate thing going on between them even made things hotter.
Shaun's character irritated the crap out of me so much I wanted to smack her several times throughout the story as she acted immature and reckless and acted be like a spoiled princess without thought of putting herself in danger as well as those protecting her with her constant reckless behavior and I have to say this really irked me because her father was obvious a criminal of some sort and she had to know that that the men hunting her father and herself were just as dangerous if not more so.She Fu**** like a porn star but , acted like a child most of the time and even giving her leeway for her feelings toward Warden regarding her mother it did not excuse the rest of her actions and deeds. She was a frustrating character for me....
Overall it was a fast paced tale filled with action/drama/ love/ lust and instant attraction and whole lot of hotness. This was a first time author for us and although I had mixed feelings about some of the characters the story itself was an engaging one and I would definitely read this author again.
Shaun and Drew, what a pair, Shaun hates him because she believes he is responsible for her mother’s death. Drew feels responsible for that but once he gets a look at grown up Shaun, he wants to claim her.
It gets even harder for both of them when her dad leaves her with Drew to protect her. What happens is a clash of wills, a clash of love/lust. This story is full of tragedy and danger, a lot of sexy scenes that will have you fanning yourself. I can’t wait to read about the other characters.
Serious daddy issues! Shaun has me wanting to redden her backside while educating her on the way the world really works! I knew some spoiled self-absorbed princesses while I was in college and I believe Shaun just might take their crowns! How much air is required to keep you functioning? Now that I have that off my chest I can only hope she matures greatly as this series continues - Because, the rest of the cast? Spot on! So want to be a part of their world.
Drew blames himself for what happened to Shaun's mom - his first love. So when the opportunity arises to not only make amends with his best friend but to quit living in the shadows of that guilt he knows he has to take it. The problem is his heart is overruling his common sense and the little tease is not helping matters.
The storyline was easy to follow with a great cast/supporting cast (besides our hormonally unbalanced heroine). Just the right mix of suspense with some solid resolutions that also left possibilities for future encounters.
Drew takes the chemistry between him and Shaun to a whole new level. He acknowledges his desires and he accepts that there is not a threat large enough to stop him from moving forward on them. Especially when said desire is a serious little tease. Be careful princess.
We get to meet some of what I'm hoping are future main characters as well as glimpses of their possible baggage. I did enjoy how the author worked the different backgrounds and criminal elements into the story without giving away to much. MC is not normally one of my go-to genres but I think this is one of those series that is worth my time.
HOLY HELL! When I read the description for Wicked Warden, I was very intrigued, but little did I know that it would blow me away like it did. The kickoff to a new series, Vicious Vipers MC, was next level, and I'm over the top excited for more! Drew is Warden, who has a past which isn't so pretty, but nowadays, he's not doing badly, though he does need to let some things go for full happiness. Anyway, he has his own company, which protects people, not to mention, he's risen in ranks in his MC. However, when his past comes walking back in, this time he won't fail. See, that situation which has plagued him, happened to have to do with his former best friend, who walks in to hire protection for former best friend's daughter. Shaun is a bit of a spoiled girl, though very feisty, who not only doesn't want a babysitter, but she hated Warden because she sees him as responsible for things in her childhood. You already know that Shaun will be making his life difficult, but man, I was just spent emotionally after the whole journey because it's not even close to easy. Not to mention the reason for the protection in the first place which brings on some f-bomb worthy twists. And then there's the chemistry that Warden has with his former best friend's daughter. So, how does it all end up?! Hit that one click button to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
The Vicious Vipers in going to be the MC series for 2020 of that I have no doubt.
Wicked Warden is everything you could wish for - dirty (in the best possible way) brutal and a great story line.
This story starts of on betrayal - that of young 16 year old Drew (warden) that feel in love with his best friends girlfriend but she only had eyes for his friend Ben and at 16 the two had a daughter together Shaun all three managed to stayed together and Drew became the body guard of mother and daughter but when the mom is killed when Drew was suppose to be watching them the heartache and heart is to much for Ben and his 10 year old daughter. Their friendships ends and Drew joins the Vicious Vipers and becomes the Warden of the MC. And for 10 years his and Bens path never crosses
Some would say life has been good to Ben over the years he continue to raise and is now a head crime boss with still one thing on his mind revenge on the man who killed his wife Arturo the head of mafia. When things get heated and Ben has the opporutunity to take out Arturo once and for all he does the only thing he can to keep Shaun safe and that is to go the one once man Arturo would never think of -Drew but Shaun can never forgive the man who didn't save her mother. But, her body is telling her something else - he maybe 16 years older than her but he is one fine looking biker! Drew cannot believe he is having feelings for his best friends daughter and fights the attraction. But Shuan has a plan a not very clever plan one in which she may find herself out of her league.
When things come to a head with Arturo death and destruction are about to follow but who will be left standing!
Can I first just commend author Lynn Burke for jump starting 2020 with one SWEEEEET MC series!! Wicked Warden is one hell of start and Drew AKA Warden is just the type of alpha man we all want in our dreams. Now Shaun on the other hand, she is one pretty princess who needs an eye opening experience in my opinion. Enough of that... The Warden is the reason Shaun's mother is dead. He let his best friend down and wasn't there the night Joanna was killed. He was suppose to protect her and little Shaun. The ten years of guilt is hardly the penance for losing the love of his life. Or is it? Maybe the real penance is being asked to protect the grown up Shaun now that the "bad guys" are after her and her Dad again? Either way, Drew has a huge dilemma on his hands because he can't deny the stirring or over protectiveness he feels when it comes to Shaun. This book hits all the sweet spots: dangerous, sexy dirty talking banter, hawt chemistry that rest on the fringe of Yikes! I loved it and will be hounding Lynn for more!!!
I'm very conflicted on how to feel about his book , I thought it was interesting but it took me some time to connect with the characters . This is a good introduction to a series I'm looking forwared to what's to come . Wicked Warden would be the first story that I've read by Lynn Burke and I can't wait to read more by this author . Even though the story along with that characters frustrate me but over all this was a good story and I can't wait to see what's to come in the series .
This book isn't that badly written, I just hated the plot. It was okay for a quick MC read but there is no substance.
Side note: if I found out the guy I liked also had sex with my mother AND took her virginity I would not go near him with a ten foot barge pole. I think this would be better if he just loved the mother without having sex with her but hey, it will work for some people.... just not me.
Holy HELL is what I am thinking after finishing this book. I just finished it and my mind is reeling from it. I have read a lot of MC books but DAMN this on owned my heart right from the beginning. I could not put this book down and when I had to I was mad because it was getting so good but I had to put it down. Drew and Shaun will steal your heart.
Drew has a protection company and he is in the Vicious Vipers MC. His life is full of sadness and regret for something that happened years ago. He can't let it go full of regret and he is a moody bastard but that all changes one day when in walks his best friend from childhood who needs help protecting his daughter. Drew swears he will protect her with everything he has and that is where the story starts to kick off.
We meet sweet sassy spoiled Shaun who does not want another babysitter in her life. She just wants to go to college classes and have fun but her father is in danger and she needs protecting and Drew is the one that is going to protect her. Only there is some animosity between Shaun and Drew because Shaun blames Drew for something and she hates him. But her father leaves and she is stuck with Drew.
Can they get past the past or will it destroy them?
A turf war has a dangerous man hiding his daughter with a man who may have caused her mother’s death. A complicated web of relationships and connections. Scintillating, emotional and entertaining.
My first read from this from this author, and I was very pleased. Can’t wait for more!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
This is definitely an action-packed book! I really liked the MC world the author created. The tension between Drew and Shaun is so thick. Going through the story as the world gets more dangerous for her and then having these deep feelings really works.
I loved Drew, and the way he cares for the FMC, and just him basically. I love age gap and this book was exactly what I've been craving lately. I loved the writing, and will definitely be going on and reading more from this author especially cause I know I'm going to love a certain couple of guys.
This was a good MC read. It had all the things I enjoy with a level of ruthlessness that was fantastic. It also had something that usually doesn't happen to me, a heroine that I just did not like. She had a level of selfish immaturity that I couldn't really get past. I would recommend it this book for MC lovers.
Drew, aka Warden, is the enforcer for the Vicious Vipers MC. He’s called upon to protect the daughter of his ex best friend, the friend whose wife Warden is responsible for getting killed. Shaun tried to use this new temporary alliance as a way to get back at Drew for her mother’s death. Their story is a type of sexy taboo that is hot as hell. Drew isn’t just alpha in everyday life, he’s a complete alpha in the bedroom and will leave you needing a new pair of panties. He has the patience of a saint whereas Shaun has complete eye rolling stupidity that only the really young can have. Their clash of personalities make for some very heated interactions. 4/5
Wow! Action packed from beginning to end! Alpha male and stubborn woman.... attraction beyond control. Dark, twisted, action packed and great!!! Can’t wait to read the next book!
Shaun is dealt the blow of a lifetime when her dad takes her to Drew for protection. She hates him with all her being. Can she get to know him without hurting him? This book is fabulous. The writing is awesome and the storyline will keep you on edge.
A gripping violent and sexy story about Drew and Shaun. Now at an age when they can both give in to their desires as well as trying to hide from a bad guy!
Age gap romance √ Daddy best friend √ Steamy dirty alpha bikers√ Selfish, stupid, trashy girl √√√ Skip reading after the second time of her stupid BS √ At the end, toxic relationship for hot dirty sexy times are all there are but author call it romance √
Not my cookies even when coating with heavy MC Romance genre. Dont like how they both lusting for each other even before 20% mark when they both have past n background story like that. Dont like the girl. Dont like it call love when she's toxic. Dont like it push to a damsel in distress when she's too selfish and stupid to do the same mistake again and worst. Dont like when he have to be the hero in situasion that happened because of her stupid behaviour.
More like 2.5 -3 stars. I am only giving it a three because I finished it. I also am considering at least two more in the series just to read the stories of the other brothers. I really liked Ryker (Book 3 that I haven't read).
Here's the problems that I saw: -I was okay with the back story and how the characters are originally connected. Drew is Shaun's father's former best friend. I just thought that once the action started, there would be more emotions based on that relationship. It just seemed to be an after thought when there should have been more red flags in the beginning.
-For an alpha male, Drew is weak in that regard. He let's Shaun run over him and ends up chasing her into dangerous situations. I am surprised that the MC actually backed him up on this one as she wasn't really old lady material.
-Mine - I love when an alpha uses Mine to convey the dynamic between the two main characters. It just looses it appeal when the male uses it over and over without any recognition from the female. He was definitely more invested than she was so at the end when they do get together, it just doesn't make sense.
-Shaun's a brat. She's emotionally immature, and there were several times that I wanted to smack her for Drew. Okay, so you think the guy ruined your life, and you want to make him hurt. I get that. I just felt that there was no a-ha moment where she actually thinks she might like this guy. She liked his activities but not him. When she finally confesses that she's willing to try, she specifically says that Drew will just have to deal with her as she grows up because she's going to make mistakes. Uh no, you shouldn't want to hurt the ones who stand by you.
-I hate when a heroine runs, gets in trouble, and then the hero has to bail her out. It happens back to back, and I just rolled my eyes at that point. It was almost a dnf at that point.
I want to read the other books in the series because I enjoyed the personalities of the other brothers who are shown. However, they're not on Kindle Unlimited, and I am not sure I enjoyed this one enough to actually pay for the rest.
Eh.... not my fave MC story. I'm always icked out when one of them have had a sexual relationship with a family member and when he said she looked like her mom...yeah, ick.
Too insta for my tastes ( but if you love insta-love then this one is for you )
I'd read this author again with a different story, this was more of a me problem.
If you enjoy hot sizzling chemistry in a forbidden love tale, laced with an enemies-to-lovers flare, then you will LOVE this book. Drew is the Warden, a member of the Vicious Viper motorcycle club, and a group of no-holds-barred Alphas who are a lethal combination when they work together. By nature Drew is protective and possessive and will do anything to protect his loved ones. Shaun is a spoiled college brat, a rich daddy’s little girl, who happens to be the daughter of a kingpin. Drew has history with Shaun and her parents, one that abruptly ended 10 years ago when Shaun’s mom died. Death surrounds Shaun once again and Drew takes center stage in Shaun’s messed up rollercoaster ride of a life. Shaun blames Drew for her misery but cannot deny the magnetic attraction between them. To make matters worse Drew is the only source of safety and comfort, something she has not felt since losing her mom. She has a plan to make Drew pay for all the wrong he has done but her plan slowly starts to backfire. When Shaun is placed in the deathly grip of an enemy, only Drew can be her saving grace. Will her internal battle lead her to danger or will she accept the truth about their feelings for each other. I could not put this book down. I absolutely loved how powerful this forbidden love story is, filled with secrets and tragedy, and becomes redemption and atonement for Drew and Shaun.
Shaun, the daughter of a strong man who made his own laws and enemies wasn't easy. Most thought all the money made her life perfect. When your dad had high powered enemies, sending bodyguards with you everywhere wasn't the way I wanted to live. But his enemies took her mother from them and her father wasn't letting it happen to Shaun. She kept trying to get her freedom if only for a little while. Until the night it all changed. His enemies caught up to him and they ran--to the man she used to count on until he let her mother die.
Years ago Warden had been best friends with Shaun's father. But Warden never expected to see him or his daughter again. The girl, now a woman, who looked just like the woman he once loved. Now he wanted to leave her with him while he took out his enemy. Warden wanted to come with him but her father wouldn't wait while he got someone to take care of Shaun.
Would the grown woman he couldn't take his eyes off become his? Could she get past their history? She would either take him or drive him crazy. The one woman he should never want he never wanted to let go.
A dark MC story with steam and lots for the lovers to overcome. Reviewed for Words Turn Me on.
This is the first of the books in the series and having read the whole series now (through book 4), it's probably the book I liked the least. The series definitely gets better as it goes along. The characters seemed more mature (particularly the female characters), I was more invested in them and the MC's overarching conflict with their mafia rivals. The author seems to be finding her "voice" as the series goes on and really hits her stride in the third book, but I still liked Warden and Shaun's book. Warden's a great alpha hero and wonderful book-boyfriend material. I liked him from the start and only liked him more as he fell for Shaun. Other than having a lot of chemistry with her, though, I sometimes wondered why he *would* fall for Shaun, because she has a series of immature moments that border on "too stupid to live." I have trouble identifying with heroines who act this way and I didn't really connect with Shaun in this book (I like her more in later books), which is where the book lost a star for me. It bothers me when the heroine's stupidity is what fuels the plot. But that's a minor quibble in what was otherwise a sexy, sparky MC read. I enjoyed this whole series and am looking forward to more from this author.
Years ago Warden had a best friend and a girl he loved…one little problem with that was that his best friend also loved that girl and they had a baby. Warden stayed by his best friend and watched the little girl grow. Fast forward some years and his best friend which he hasn’t seen for years is now is a kingpin with all kinds of enemies, his lost love is dead because he wasn’t there to protect her (which was his job) and little Shaun is now grown up into one sassy and beautiful woman.
With Shaun’s life at stake once again his best friend comes to him and is desperate for Warden to protect her from Ben’s enemy and even from Warden himself. Ben knows that nobody would suspect that she is with the Vicious Vipers MC since there is bad blood between Ben and Warden since his wife’s death. Warden can’t get over the sassiness and the beauty this young woman has. Age difference…Phew!!...it’s only 16 years anyway!
This book was fast paced and was definitely a page turner. I loved every minute of the ride with Warden and Shaun. There is plenty of darkness, steam and a HEA.
Shaun may be young, but she knows what she wants. That is Drew, aka Warden. It doesn't matter that he is the one man her father trusts most to guard her. He was the man who didn't do his job ten years ago, and it cost her mother her life. Now, when the cartel is after her father, he takes his daughter to the one man he knows will give his own life to keep her alive. Drew can't believe the little girl he knew has grown into a young woman with a knock-out body. She will test his self-control with her sassy mouth and curves that tempt him. They both feel the attraction as Shaun fights a battle within herself over the man who didn't protect her mother but is flipping every switch within her now. Despite an attempt to deny their feelings, pure lust wins out, and their feelings quickly take over. All may not be forgotten, but it can be forgiven. When danger comes calling, Drew steps up and rescues Shaun time and time again. Now will they be able to put the past behind them and heal enough to have a future?
I love hot erotic MC books just like any other red blooded woman. But this one, had a weak backstory , which apparently connected the 2 main characters and I honestly did not feel the connection between them even though all they did was screw throughout the whole book.
The story was just weak. There needed to be more character build up and the bratty girl and alpha man who chases her trope was just redundant. The plot was simply; Girl gets out of car, he gets hard and decides he wants her After not having seen her for several years, (and he happened to be in love with her mother?), they do the dirty several times even though she says she hates him and runs away from him, he rescues her, screws her again, she runs away again after a misunderstanding, cheats with 3 guys at a frat party, he saves her from a full on gang bang and both decide they’d had enough and admitted their love for each other. It was just a stupid story.
