When I came upon this book the cover character seemed very familiar to me and then it clicked on me that it resembled Belle although not quite the Disney version. As a result I was intrigued with it since of that factor and the title, which reminded me of a Disney inspirational or quote book. Even so the description of the book, though, threw me as it said it was a Disney Princess storybook.

It's safe to say, though, that my instincts were right on this and that this isn't a Disney Princess storybook but instead a Disney Princess inspirational read. The book is split into two parts with the first part exploring the motivating force of dreams such as a bit of magic, adventure, something more, etc. Meanwhile the second part explores what it takes or doesn't take from the reader to make one's dreams come true.

The book is illustrated with just a handful of the Disney Princess cotillion as only Rapunzel, Cinderella, Mulan, Ariel, Jasmine and Belle appear. But each of these princesses illustrates two different page spreads - one for each section. And these pages are illustrated to tie the princess with the dream and trait(s) most relatable to the princess.

These illustrations are a bit on the so-so side for me. They aren't the classic animated illustrations that you see with Disney Princesses but a stylized cartoonish format. As a result there are some elements - usually the eyes - that just weren't right and other elements like the color of Belle's horse that doesn't quite fit the canon.

Otherwise the writing was very simple to read and follow while giving its message to the reader in a style that less is more. Furthermore instead of following the trend that blasts each of the Disney movies for teaching children horrible and outdated messages in their movies the book seeks to find the positive message from the film's female protagonist.

As a result it makes for a good and inspiring yet fast read. As such I would recommend it for those who are looking for a special milestone gift for the Disney fans in their lives.

A beautifully illustrated book with a sweet and simple message. It did leave a little to be desired, but Disney fans will love it.
