3.5 STARS Decent enough basic non-fiction information for the younger picture book crowd -- no story here, but the text is fairly engaging and the illustrations are nice with fairly accurate depictions of the bugs, not too cutesy but with a bit of whimsy you'd expect from a Golden Book. No bibliography though there's a note in the beginning thanking Dr. David Grimaldi, Curator, Division of Invertebrate Zoology at the American Museum of Natural History for his assistance so at least the text has been vetted. My five-year-old and eight-year-old both enjoyed this so I'll bump up to four stars for that.
