The Perpetual Penitent by Henry Hoffman is an Adam Fraley mystery novel. This book tells the story of a father and husband who chooses to disappear after the tragic death of his three-year-old daughter. The family (mother and daughter) have forgiven him, so they say, but the grief and guilt weigh heavy on his heart and mind and he finds himself unable to stay with the family. So one day...he packs all his things and simply goes away. For five years, the family has seemingly moved on without him. ...more

This is a fabulous book that is excellently-written and a very compelling read. The characters are bought to life wonderfully and realistically, especially super sleuth Adam Fraley who is an intriguing character. The story is action-packed and contains twists that keep you guessing until the end.
